    Why does André Gide so often compare Chopin to Baudelaire? For several reasons: because for him, the two artists are unique, irreplaceable, incomparable; because both were initially misunderstood; and because they are both classics of the nineteenth century. In other words, what distinguishes them, according to Gide, is their aesthetics of discretion, which is verysimilar to the one he develops in his own works – particularly those in which he defends the homosexual cause.

    Révéler l'homosexualité des personnages à travers un voyage en Italie semble un topos caractéristiques des oeuvres décadentes au tournant du XIXe-XXe siècle. La présente étude s'attache aux origines de cette mythologie littéraire à travers une série de textes issus de diverses sources linguistiques en adoptant une méthodologie géocritique. Ce choix d'un pays encore vierge de culture industrielle permet des rencontres épiphaniques dont l'aboutissement est la redécouverte de soi-même par chacun des personnages. Confrontés à des monstres et autres divinités mythologiques secondaires, les protagonistes feront l'expérience de devenir eux-mêmes.
    The choice of Italy to reveal the homosexuality of the characters seems to be a recurring stereotype in the decadent European literature at the turn of the century. The present study examines the origins of such a literary mythology by confronting various linguistic sources in order to identify an intertextual and geocritical network. The choice of a country still untouched by an industrial culture allows for epiphanic encounters whose outcome is the rediscovery of oneself by each of the characters. Confronted with monsters and other secondary mythological deities, the protagonists will experience becoming one themselves.

    Taking up Antoine Compagnon’s thesis, according to which Sodom and Gomorrah constitutes a privileged place to look at the whole Proustian cycle, the article focuses on the social dimension of the novel, as well as on cruelty. In this context, the image of Jews and servants, and the role of the baron de Charlus are studied in particular. For the author also discusses the vision of love, especially homosexual, to show how Proust’s approach stems from sadism and masochism.

    Le langage de la pornographie se déploie aujourd’hui non seulement dans les dictionnaires des mots du sexe ou dans les textes, mais aussi sur diverses pages Web. Notre étude se fonde sur un corpus pour lequel nous avons analysé un matériau variationnel relevant du non-standard : une centaine de biographies érotiques d’acteurs X homo- et bisexuels rassemblées sur le site francophone https://www.videosxgays.com/. L’objectif de notre analyse est de nous pencher sur la construction discursive de l’identité des acteurs X pour mettre en avant l’ethos de puissance qui se dégage dans le discours étudié à travers un répertoire spécifique d’instruments langagiers.
    Today the language of pornography unfolds not only in sex word dictionaries or texts, but also on various web pages. Our study is based on a corpus for which we analyzed a variational material relating to the non-standard: around a hundred erotic biographies of homo- and bisexual pornstars gathered on the French-speaking site https://www.videosxgays.com/. The objective of our analysis is to look at the discursive construction of the identity of X actors in order to highlight the power ethos that emerges in the discourse studied through a specific repertoire of linguistic instruments.
