Opis:
This paper examines how the Front National’s electoral victories could be explained, partially, in terms of a new discursive rhetoric adopted by Marine Le Pen. In order to compare rhetorical strategies used by both Marine and Jean-Marie Le Pen and their impact on their followers, we use comparable data, which consist of press articles published during the presidential campaigns of each politician and postings by online discussants related to interviews. Using corpus linguistics tools and lexical semantics, we assess how differently both leaders position themselves emotionally and how this emotional positioning is reconstructed within the postings of the viewers. Although no important quantitative difference can be observed in the number of emotion key-words they used respectively, a shift in both politicians’ rhetoric positioning can be observed when analyzing the context in which these keywords are embedded. If Jean-Marie Le Pen focuses on negative feelings towards the Other (anger, resentment), Marine Le Pen promotes a positive ethos (empathy) in order to detoxify the image of her party and broaden her electoral base.

Opis:
The article offers a selective comparison of some objects of the Silesian and Walloon designers and suggests their possible interpretations. In both regions, Silesia in Poland and Wallonia in Belgium, which are bound by the similar industrial heritage, considerable efforts were made, at a certain moment in their recent history, in the field of design to modify or even reinvent the image of the region. Silesian designers seem to be still anchored in the past, often concentrated on overcoming the stereotype that weighs on their homeland. The Walloon design, however, is more keen to comment on the present and to criticize the galloping consumption, often warning about the risks of being caught by the flow of the "liquid modernity".

Opis:
At the end of the first semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, we conducted an opinion survey of 50 philology students on their willingness to adopt new pedagogical approaches based largely on digital media. We measured the degree of appreciation of different forms of academic work, including lectures, tutorials and seminars, modified by these approaches. After a year of the COVID-19 pandemic, we investigated the potential revision of views on the practical application of the innovations described in 2020. Our research focused on appreciating the usefulness and effectiveness of the teaching methods analyzed during the initial research, judged through the prism of current experiences.
