Niektórzy ludzie rozwiązują to samo zadanie na różne „indywidualne” sposoby. Działanie „Aktywność twórcza w całych dziesiątkach” angażuje się w ukierunkowane zadanie eksploracji dodania dwóch liczb, których suma wynosi w całości dziesiątki. Obejmuje: tabelę mnożenia, tabelę setek i tabelę tysięcy. Systematyczne zapisywanie ćwiczeń, liczb, których suma jest w całych dziesiątkach, a rozwiązanie na różne sposoby. Zadania przeznaczone dla 1-szych równiarków i oparte na zasadzie używania „cyfrowych kart”, na których oznaczono cyfry 0 – 9, koncentrują się na dodanych liczbach za pomocą cyfrowych kart, tworzą dwie liczby tak, że ich suma jest w całych dziesiątkach. Wkład: wykonanie „skutecznych” ustnych obliczeń, oszacowań i przybliżeń, uzyskanie poczucia rzędu wielkości i miejsca w systemie liczb, badanie różnych metod rozwiązania, dekomponowanie liczby na komponenty i łączenie liczb, wyciąganie wniosków i zwiększanie wglądów matematycznych.
Some people solve the same assignment in different ‘individual’ ways. The activity “Creative activity in whole tens” engages in a directed assignment of exploring the addition of two numbers whose sum is in whole tens. It includes: a table of multiplication, a table of hundreds and a table of thousands. A systematic recording of exercises, figures whose sum is in whole tens, and solution in different ways. The assignments were designed for 1st to 6th graders and based on the principle of using “digit cards” labelled from 0 – 9 and focused on added numbers using digit cards, form two numbers so that their sum is in whole tens. The contribution is manifold: performing “effective” oral calculations, estimations and approximations; promoting awareness of the order, sequence and place of numbers; examining a variety of the solution methods; decomposing a number into components and combining figures; drawing conclusions and enhancing mathematical insights.

Eye, head, and body movements are thought to be functionally coupled in the performance of complex skills, such as somersaults with and without twists (Davlin et al. 2001; von Laßberg et al. 2014). Directing the gaze to specific locations in the environment during the takeoff phase in somersaults could influence takeoff kinematics and, as a consequence, the subsequent flight phase. The goal of this study was to investigate the relationship between gaze direction during takeoff and the corresponding movement kinematics when performing backward somersaults in cheerleading. N = 11 cheerleaders performed standing backward somersaults in three experimental conditions (straight gaze direction, elevated gaze direction, depressed gaze direction). Results revealed that cheerleaders exhibited a larger hip angle during takeoff and longer flight duration of the somersaults when their gaze was elevated during the takeoff phase, thereby supporting the notion that a functional coupling seems to operate between gaze behaviour and motor behaviour in cheerleading. In daily practice, cheerleaders could try to focus their gaze on a point on the wall in front of them during the takeoff phase in somersaults in order to facilitate the development of a functional coupling between gaze behavior and motor behavior.

The main element of genomic molecular analysis is isolation of DNA from biological material. DNA isolation is an important process of PCR methods. Efficency of PCR processes depends of purness and concentration of DNA. Many methods allows to izolate good quality DNA. There are many Purification Kits and methods of extraction genomic material. We show available techniques and methods of increasing efficiency of the process in our studies. Previous data shows that operating with kits needs optimization, whilst protocols do not have all information about isolation process. We concentrate on Epicentre MasterPure DNA Purification Kit, which is cheap, fast and allows to purification nucleic acids from various materials. We show detailed advantages and disadvantages of this set. Our main aim is to develop protocol to get optimal concentration (50-100 ng/μL) and pureness (A 260/280; 1.6-1.9) of DNA. We also should optimize the process of DNA isolation to obtain efficiency of about 100%. Optimized methodology of DNA isolation, with using MasterPure DNA Purification Kit allows to get good quality material in laboratory without specialistic equipment. This survey contains our assumptions of ways how we can influent on purification process according to previous data.

Objectives This cross-sectional questionnaire study was carried out at 4 open-pit mines in Finland, Norway, Russia and Sweden as part of the MineHealth project. The aim has been to compare the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms between drivers of mining vehicles and non-drivers. Material and Methods The mine workers were asked whether they had suffered from any musculoskeletal symptoms during the previous 12 months in specified body regions, and to grade the severity of these symptoms during the past month. They were also asked about their daily driving of mining vehicles. Results The questionnaire was completed by 1323 workers (757 vehicle drivers) and the reported prevalence and severity of symptoms were highest for the lower back, followed by pain in the neck, shoulder and upper back. Drivers in the Nordic mines reported fewer symptoms than non-drivers, while for Russian mine workers the results were the opposite of that. The daily driving of mining vehicles had no significant association with the risk of symptoms. Female drivers indicated a higher prevalence of symptoms as compared to male drivers. Conclusions The study provided only weak support for the hypothesis that drivers of vehicles reported a higher prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms than non-vehicle drivers. There were marked differences in the prevalence of symptoms among workers in various enterprises, even though the nature of the job tasks was similar. Celem pracy była ocena komfortu jazdy użytkownika uniwersalnego wózka inwalidzkiego. Dokonano oceny ryzyka związanego z krótkotrwałym działaniem drgań mechanicznych na osobę znajdującą się na wózku w zależności od rodzaju nawierzchni, po której się poruszała (badanie przeprowadzono na 13 różnych nawierzchniach). Przeanalizowano również wpływ zmiany środka ciężkości osoby na wózku, jaki ma miejsce przy zmianie postawy w trakcie jazdy czynnej i biernej.
This study examined the effect of changes the centre of gravity and road surface types on using of a wheelchair. Users comfort, while using wheelchair, was specified during vibration measurement tests. The vibration was measured in each of three axes. For the purpose of this thesis the universal folding wheelchair Budget 9.050 of Meyra company was used. The measurements were performed on 13 different surfaces. Each test was executed twice for two different positions of wheelchair’s user. In the first test, user was sitting on a wheelchair and was pushed by the operator. In the second attempt, user was driving wheelchair by himself.

Opis:
Internal radiation dosimetry of occupational radiation workers due to inhalation of 131 I during maintenance at iodine 131 I hot cell of Radioisotope Production Division (RIPD) of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission have been performed with Whole Body Counter (WBC) containing two large size NaI detector. The contaminated radioactivity of the radiation workers by 131 I was immediately conducted using a WBC (CANBERRA, FASTSCAN model 2250) and counting was repeated again a few days later. The performance of whole body counter was checked by CANBERRA transfer phantom (model 2257) with a mixed source (20 ml vial). The intake was calculated by Apex-Invivo counting software and then corresponding dose in thyroid were estimated by using Integrated Modules for Bioassay Analysis (IMBA) Professional Plus code modules. The body activity due to intake of 131 I and the total effective and equivalent dose in thyroid were also estimated and discussed.

Human exposure to mechanical vibration may represent a significant risk factor for exposed workers in the agricultural sector. Also, noise in agriculture is one of the risk factors to be taken into account in the evaluation of workers’ health and safety. One of the major sources of discomfort for the workers operating a tractors is the noise to which they are exposed during work. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk of exposure to whole-body vibration for the operator driving track-laying tractors in vineyard orchard and the noise level. The experimental tests were performed with six different track-laying tractors coupled with the same rototilling machine. The results showed that the vibration values of track-laying tractors coupled to rototilling machine, referred to the 8-hour working day, were always higher than 0.5 m s-2, the daily exposure action value established by Directive 2002/44/EC of the European Parliament. The daily noise exposure levels always exceeded the exposure limit value of 87 dB(A) established by Directive 2003/10/EC of the European Parliament. The ANOVA repeated measures model showed that the factor ‘site’, namely, the soil characteristics, did not influence the vibration level on the X and Y-axes of the tractors measured, regardless of their age. In the Z-axis, the vibration level was enhanced as the soil structure increased. As tractor age increased, the influence of soil characteristics was less important. In term of the age of the tractor and the number of hours worked, it was possible to identify three risk classes, which were up to 3,000 hours worked and offered a low risk; from 3,000 – 6,000 hours worked with a medium risk, and over 6,000 hours with a high risk level.

Opis:
The use of fluorescent markers has proven to be an attractive tool in biological imaging. However, its usefulness may be confined by the cytotoxicity of the fluorescent proteins. In this article, for the first time, we have examined an influence of the antibiotics present in culture medium on cytotoxicity of the EGFP and DsRed2 markers used for whole-cell labeling. Results showed that doxycycline negatively affected albumin synthesis in DsRed2-expressing hepatoma cells, and that both hepatoma cells and human skin fibroblasts, labeled with this protein, were characterized by the lowered growth rates. Thus, the cytotoxic effect of fluorescent markers depends on both protein used for cell labeling and on growth conditions that may cause cell stress.

This article presents the results of laboratory tests on the combined effect of whole-body vibration (WBV) and hand–arm vibration (HAV). The reactions of subjects exposed to various combinations of vibration were recorded. The vibrotactile perception threshold (VPT) test identified changes caused by exposure to vibration. Ten male subjects met the criteria of the study. There were 4 series of tests: a reference test and tests after exposure to HAV, WBV, and after simultaneous exposure to HAV and WBV. An analysis of the results (6000 ascending and descending VPTs) showed that the changes in VPTs were greatest after simultaneous exposure to both kinds of vibration. The increase in VPT, for all stimulus frequencies, was then higher than after exposure to HAV or WBV only.

As a result of many years of observation and testing, proverbs are a collection of words that have been shaped into a certain pattern, reflecting the causes of natural and social phenomena. Proverbs and sayings, as short, laconic means of speech, reveal the origin of events and have a reminiscent feature. In Azerbaijani language, proverbs related to then national customs and beliefs explain certain truths to the younger generations and call them to the right path. The article talks about proverbs as complex syntactic whole, parallelisms with common words and non-common words in Azerbaijani proverbs. Parallel conjunctions play an important role in proverbs and sayings. Although these valuable sayings are short and concise, consisting of several sentence members, the syntactic constructions in them can be attributed to different types of syntactic parallels. These parallels are of great importance in the formation of proverbs by connecting the components of the text with each other.

The first Polish whole-body spectrometer (WBS) with scintillation detectors was constructed in Łódź in the early sixties of the last century and was operating there for more than 30 years. In 2008, the 19th century steel shield of this instrument was transported from Łódź to Kraków, where it was re-equipped with a modern gamma spectrometric system. Design and construction of this modernized spectrometer is presented along with the results for in-body contamination measurements of four Polish inhabitants who returned to Poland from Japan after the Fukushima accident compared with the results for typical Polish inhabitants, the volunteers from the Institute of Nuclear Physics (IFJ, Kraków) workers. Although, a clear signal from the Fukushima fallout was noticed for three of four persons who returned from Japan, the calculated doses were negligible. No traces of Fukushima-originating radionuclides were noticed for the examined people who have not traveled to Japan.

To investigate the relationship between the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) network of the marrow stroma and the haematopoietic regeneration after mice whole-body irradiation. Materials and methods: Three groups of mice were irradiated with a non-lethal ionising radiation dose: the fi rst one received an intraperitoneal injection of Levamisole, ALP inhibitor, 24 h before irradiation; the second one received an intraperitoneal injection of Lisinopril, haematopoiesis inhibitor, 24 h before irradiation; the third was left untreated, but irradiated. The fourth group, untreated and not irradiated, was the control. The total surface occupied by ALP positive processes, revealed by means of ALP cytochemistry in the marrow area, was evaluated semi-quantitively. Nucleated bone marrow cells were also counted. Results: ALP network began to increase 24 h after irradiation to reach a maximum after 72 h, when the bone marrow was almost become completely empty of the haematopoietic cells. This increase advances the haematopoietic recovery. This process was substantially delayed when the mice were injected with Levamisole 24 h before irradiation. On the contrary, ALP network increased strongly since the fi rst day after irradiation when the mice were injected with Lisinopril 24 h before irradiation. Conclusions: These data have indicated that the haematopoietic recovery and repopulation of the bone marrow were advanced by the ALP network recovery.

The Italian vibration database is presented. It is hosted by a web server at the National Institute of Occupational Prevention and Safety (ISPESL) in Rome, Italy (http://www.ispesl.it/vibrationdatabase). It supports in risk assessment employers who have to comply with Legislative Decree 187/05, now replaced by Legislative Decree 81/08, which transposes into law Vibration Directive 2002/44/EC. The database currently contains measurements and EC-declared values from over 980 hand-held power tools (such as pneumatic and electric hammers, chainsaws, grinders, drills, sanders and saws) and from over 420 vehicles (such as buses, forklifts and wheel tractors). The database is continuously updated as soon as new experimental and declared data are acquired.

Opis:
Leibniz’s juvenile work De arte combinatoria of 1666 included the “Proof for the Existence of God.” This proof bears a mathematical character and is constructed in line with Euclid’s pattern. I attempted to logically formalize it in 1982. In this text, on the basis of then analysis and the contents of the proof, I seek to show what concept of substance Leibniz used on behalf of the proof. Besides, Leibnizian conception of the whole and part as well as Leibniz’s definitional method have been reconstructed here.
Młodzieńcze dzieło Leibniza De arte combinatoria z 1666 r. opatrzone zostało na końcu „Dowodem na istnienie Boga”. Dowód ma charakter „matematyczny” i jest zbudowany zgodnie z wzorcem Euklidesowym. Dowód ten w 1982 r. został poddany przeze mnie próbie formalizacji logicznej. W niniejszym tekście, wykorzystując wyniki tamtej analizy, staram się na podstawie treści zawartych w wierszach dowodu pokazać, jakim pojęciem substancji posługiwał się Leibniz na użytek dowodu. Zostaje ponadto zrekonstruowana Leibnizjańska koncepcja całości i części oraz jego metoda definicyjna Leibniza.
