    Opis:
    This article examines the evolution of the emergence of the Internet. It is shown how at first people created networks, and how subsequently the network became the influencer of human life. Conditional stages of formation of web culture as well as of that of values of network computer communication are characterized. It is highlighted what led to the origination of freedom of information. The transition from the non-commercial nature of the content to commerce and the mass of the Internet are also discussed. The development of Web 2.0 culture, which includes blogs, electronic encyclopaedias and social networks, is analysed. Finally, it’s shown how web 2.0 has become an integral part of the existence of the human-generation web culture. Also, the benchmark for Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 is described in Tim O Reilly’s article „What is Web 2.0?» It shows why and how blogs began, and what the subculture of bloggers do today. Additionally, the special role of video hosting Your Tube in the progress of the Internet is discussed, namely describing how YouTube has transitioned from a personal video hosting service towards a replacement for Television itself.Finally, the importance of social networks, which have become an interactive platform, that combines the ability to view videos, photos and communication in a single forum was also highlighted.
    W artykule omówiono ewolucję pojawienia się Internetu. Pokazano, jak człowiek zaczął tworzyć sieć, a później sieć stała się twórcą ludzkiego życia. Scharakteryzowano etapy powstawania kultury internetowej i kształtowania wartości sieciowej komunikacji komputerowej, a także przybliżono drogę ku wolności informacji oraz od niekomercyjnego charakteru sieci do komercyjnego i masowego Internetu. Analizując rozwój kultury Web 2.0, która obejmuje blogi, encyklopedię elektroniczną i sieci społecznościowe ukazano, w jaki sposób Web 2.0 stał się integralną częścią kultury internetowej. Ponadto Web 1.0 i Web 2.0 opisano w artykule Tima O’Reilly’ego „Co to jest Web 2.0?”, który pokazuje, dlaczego i jak blogowanie się zaczęło i co robi dziś subkultura blogów. Omówiono także specjalną rolę wideo hostingu YouTube w rozwoju Internetu, a mianowicie jak YouTube przeniósł się z osobistego hostingu wideo, aby zastąpić telewizor. Na koniec podkreślono znaczenie sieci społecznościowych, które stały się interaktywną platformą łączącą możliwość oglądania filmów, zdjęć i komunikacji na jednej platformie.

    The article analyses the Internauts’ information security culture and discusses the theoretical fundaments of this psycho-social phenomenon. Three hypotheses was formulated, assuming that: (1) Internet users represent varying levels and nature of the information security culture, (2) there is a close relationship between Internet users’ information security culture and their online activity, and (3) the information security culture of Internet users can be improved in the education process. All hypotheses were positively verified. This verification was based on the method of analyzing the literature on the subject and the available statistical data as well as the method of synthesis. The author examined the information security culture elements regarding the Internet users. The quoted examples allowed a conclusion the level and character of the Internauts’ information security culture is varying and related to their activities in the cyberspace. The necessity to upgrade individual qualifications through formal and lifelong education was also indicated.
    Wybrane elementy kultury bezpieczeństwa informacyjnego użytkowników Internetu Celem artykułu była analiza kultury bezpieczeństwa informacyjnego użytkowników Internetu. Sformułowano trzy hipotezy zakładające, że: (1) użytkownicy Internetu prezentują zróżnicowany poziom i charakter kultury bezpieczeństwa informacyjnego; (2) istnieje ścisły związek między kulturą bezpieczeństwa informacyjnego użytkowników Internetu a ich aktywnością w sieci oraz (3) kulturę bezpieczeństwa informacyjnego użytkowników Internetu można doskonalić w procesie edukacji. Wszystkie hipotezy zostały zweryfikowane pozytywnie. Weryfikacji tej posłużyły metoda analizy literatury przedmiotu i dostępnych danych statystycznych oraz metoda syntezy. W artykule poddano analizie poszczególne elementy kultury bezpieczeństwa informacyjnego w odniesieniu do użytkowników sieci. Przywołane przykłady pozwoliły stwierdzić, że poziom i charakter kultury bezpieczeństwa informacyjnego internautów jest zróżnicowany i pozostaje w związku z przejawianymi przez internautów aktywnościami w cyberprzestrzeni. Wskazano także na konieczność podnoszenia kwalifikacji w tym zakresie w toku edukacji formalnej i ustawicznej.

    Opis:
    One of the most powerful ways in which we can globalize knowledge, and sociology, is to figure ways in which leading intellectual figures within insufficiently articulated knowledge cultures might inform readings of the other’s work. With the recent revivals of Antonina Kłoskowska and W.E.B. Du Bois in Polish and US sociology respectively, it is a propitious time to figure the ways in which their scholarship aligns, contrasts, and can mutually transform. In particular, the two are both concerned for how marginalized communities with their associated subjectivities engage dominant cultures, but Kłoskowska works within a national/regional frame and Du Bois a global and racial one. Too, Du Bois theorizes from within that marginalized community, with political pointedness, not from outside it or with any attempt to refrain from value judgements. Finally, while Du Bois blends Marxist accounts with a culturally rich account of Blackness and its others, Kłoskowska offers a more semiotic and intersubjective hermeneutic view of how various fusions of horizons might also create a more open world. Those who extend Kłoskowska’s tradition exemplify that very potential while Du Bois, in his very conditions of existence, made racism’s hardest shell manifest. Figuring exemplars of national and racial leadership might, however, invite powerful figurations of the future, but only when their cultural and political constitutions are made explicit.
