Opis:: The amount of generated waste has been increasing for several years in Poland. There is a lot of research in the field of the environmental and economic evaluation of waste treatment processes. Waste transport is considered to be one of the most important elements of waste management (WM), because it integrates the whole WM system. The environmental impact of waste transport is rising (emissions to air). The European Union introduced provisions on the principle of proximity in the Waste Framework Directive. This principle suggests that waste should generally be transported, treated or disposed of as near to its place of origin as possible. The main aim of the study was to perform an ecological and technical-economic analysis of transportation of selected types of waste (mixed municipal solid waste, construction and demolition waste, separately collected waste called: segregation). The research applied data obtained from a municipal enterprise operating in the South Poland. SimaPro 8.1 software with Ecoinvent 3.3 database was employed to calculate the environmental impact. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the transportation of 1 Mg construction waste had twice as much negative impact on the environment as transportation of 1 Mg mixed municipal waste and segregated waste. This is connected with higher fuel consumption per 1 Mg of transported construction waste and twice the distance that an average hooklift truck must cover in order to collect 1 Mg of construction waste.

Presented elements of planning process and of the carriage of municipal waste in road transport in legal, technical and economic aspects. It also includes all legal information relating to the road carriage of goods as well as the conditions that must be met by the service company while executing this kind of carriage and economic business. The characteristics of the transport process, the transport technology, the transport systems were made, too. The purpose of this article is to present the transport process and transport system of municipal waste.
Omówiono proces planowania drogowej operacji transportowej związanej z transportem odpadów komunalnych. Dodatkowo przedstawiono organizację zbiórki zmieszanych odpadów komunalnych na przykładzie analizy wykonywanych tras przewozowych przy pomocy specjalistycznych środków transportowych przedsiębiorstwa usługowego znajdującego się w gminie Wałcz w województwie zachodniopomorskim. Przedstawiono elementy procesu planistycznego i przewozowego odpadów komunalnych w transporcie drogowym pod względem prawnym, technicznym oraz ekonomicznym. Podano informacje prawne dotyczące przewozu drogowego rzeczy oraz warunki, jakie musi spełniać przedsiębiorstwo usługowe, wykonując tego rodzaju przewóz i działalność gospodarczą. Celem tego artykułu jest przedstawienie procesu i systemu transportowego odpadów komunalnych.

Opis:: Transport of dangerous goods are always under critical observation of the public, in particular in case of transport of spent fuel or radioactive waste. In both cases transports are often crossing borders of countries, e.g., waste resulting from reprocessing of spent fuel. The transports could take place by ships, trucks, rails and airplanes and these options and the resulting risks are compared. Transport risk includes health and safety risks that arise from the exposures to workers and members of the public to radiation from shipments Moreover, it is shown that the more modern approach of risk-informed decision making elaborated for application to nuclear installations can also be applied to assess the risk of the transport of radioactive material.

Opis:: The management of packaging material and its transport flow, including waste management, has become the focus of attention in recent decades, not least because of the emphasis on the requirements of sustainable development. Due to ever-increasing volume various types of packages, i. e. coming not only from industrial production, transport and trade, where its management is regulated, organized and controlled, but also packaging waste that is generated in households and where this waste ends at best sorted into containers according to material and in the worst case as municipal waste, or it is used as fuel in the incinerator. Author´s team defined the research idea in the direction of packaging waste, coming from online shopping, logistics and shipment distribution. The research was conducted over the year 2021 in the Czech Republic, during the Covid-19 pandemic, when online shopping was on its rise and, for many people, it became as a partly substitute for regular shopping in the future. In regard to an analytical part of the research, specific empirical methods were applied. The research hypothesis is evaluated statistically using a pairwise test. The presentation of the research per se is preceded by a literature review with citations of legislative articles and scientific papers related to the topic discussed. This section is followed by a description of the paradox in terms of online trading. The next part of the article presents the research findings, their summary and related conslusions.

The article consists of seven parts, all of which present elements of a planning and transport process connected with municipal waste in road transport from legal, technical and economic perspective. Legal information concerning a road transport of goods was provided along with conditions that have to be met in order to perform this kind of transport and business activity. Moreover, technical and legal aspects of municipal waste transport vehicles were approached. The article covered as well the characteristics of: transport process, transport technologies, transport systems, the analysis of work capacity on the basis of drivers’ working time and a description of optimal routes for providing services in the commune taking into consideration a technological process of municipal waste transport step by step. The aim of the article is to present the rules of municipal waste: management, storage, segregation, keeping appropriate records of waste in municipal enterprises.

Opis:: Several types of coal waste (freshly-dumped waste, self-heated waste and waste eroded by rain water), river sediments and river water were sampled. The aim was to identify the types of phenols present on the dumps together with their relative abundances. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analyses of a large number of samples (234) statistically underpin the phenol distributions in the sample sets. The largest average relative contents (1.17-13.3%) of phenols occur in the self-heated samples. In these, relatively high amounts of phenol, C1- and C2-phenols reflect the thermal destruction of vitrinite. In fresh coal waste, C2- and C3-phenols that originated from the bacterial/fungal degradation and oxidation of vitrinite particles are the most common (0.6 rel.%). Water-washed coal waste and water samples contain lower quantities of phenols. In the river sediments, the phenols present are the result of bacterial- or fungal decay of coaly organic matter or are of industrial origin.

Opis:: The article describes road transport operation planning connected with municipal waste transport, and the organisation of mixed municipal waste collection base on the example of convey routes serviced by means of transport owned by service company in Wałcz Municipal in Zachodniopomorskie Province in 2016. The article presents stages of planning and convey processes for transporting municipal waste in road transport in legal, technical and economical terms. They include all legal information relating to road convey of commodities as well as conditions which must be met by the service company that conducts this kind of transport and business activity. Technical and legal characterization of vehicles for transporting municipal waste has been presented as were transport process, technologies and systems. The Authors also analyse work effectiveness based on the drivers working time and elaborate on the optimal routes for municipal service in technological process of municipal waste transport, including all process-related activities. The aim of this article is to present the results of research on the operation of the municipal company Altvater Piła — ENERIS based on the commune of Wałcz it serviced in 2016.
W artykule omówiono proces planowania drogowej operacji transportowej związanej z transportem odpadów komunalnych, a także przedstawiono organizację zbiórki zmieszanych odpadów komunalnych na przykładzie analizy tras przewozowych pokonywanych przez środki transportowe przedsiębiorstwa usługowego w gminie Wałcz w województwie zachodniopomorskim w 2016 roku. Zaprezentowano elementy procesu planistycznego i przewozowego odpadów komunalnych w transporcie drogowym w aspekcie prawnym, technicznym oraz ekonomicznym. Artykuł zawiera wszelkie informacje o wymogach prawnych dotyczących przewozu drogowego rzeczy oraz o warunkach, jakie musi spełniać przedsiębiorstwo usługowe wykonujące tego rodzaju przewozy. Scharakteryzowano pojazdy do przewozu odpadów komunalnych pod względem technicznym i prawnym. Dokonano również charakterystyki procesu transportowego, technologii transportowych, systemów transportowych, wykonano analizę wydajności pracy na podstawie czasu pracy kierowców oraz opracowano optymalne trasy do obsługi gminy w technologicznym procesie przewozowym odpadów komunalnych z uwzględnieniem wszystkich czynności towarzyszących temu procesowi. Podano wszelkie informacje prawne dotyczące przewozu drogowego rzeczy oraz warunki, jakie musi spełniać przedsiębiorstwo usługowe, wykonując tego rodzaju przewóz i działalność gospodarczą. Przedstawiono modele selektywnego zbierania odpadów komunalnych, zasady składowania i magazynowania oraz rodzaje opakowań stosowanych w gospodarce odpadami komunalnymi. Celem tego artykułu jest przedstawienie zasad ewidencji gospodarowania, składowania, segregacji oraz prowadzenia prawidłowej i zgodnej z obowiązującym prawem dokumentacji ewidencji odpadów komunalnych w przedsiębiorstwie komunalnym.

Opis:: The coal mining industry in Quang Ninh province is primarily focused on serving thermal power plants which has resulted in a substantial amount of waste rock and ash. This way has not only narrowed the used land but also had a negative impact on the environment. However, the economic development plan for the province until 2030 emphasizes the development of a greener economy. Therefore, balancing between economic growth and environmental protection is one of the significant challenges of this province. To solve the problem of waste rock and ash dumps, some methods have been proposed. It tends to use waste materials for backfilling the underground mines, this can help to minimize the bad impact on the environment. Additionally, Another solution is to handle the waste in abandoned mining areas, or use them as construction materials. These ways are expected to partially reduce the bad effects of waste rock and ash dumps on the environment. In the world, there are many studies on filling using waste rock and fly ash, but in Vietnam this issue is quite new. In order to turn waste rock and fly ash into filling materials, the article researches on a laboratory scale, the ability of transportation in hydraulic pipelines, level of the water separation and shrinkage of mixtures of rock and fly ash in the Mong Duong – Coc Sau area with the different proportions. The results of the experiments show that the area has appropriate mixing ratio as 70–73% of waste rock and 30–27% of fly ash, this ratio satisfies the transportation conditions in the pipeline and the shrinkage rate of 8, 8–12.3%. The indicators in experiments show that it is able to take waste rock into mined underground area to fill, which prevents displacement of strata from mining, protects the underground water flow, and also reduces negative impact of waste rock on environment.

Opis:: The paper presents key legal instruments governing the issues of the protection of the marine environment with respect to the management of ship-generated waste and cargo residues in European Union seaports. In view of the observed development of maritime transport, it is particularly important to organise the reception of wastes and cargo residues in seaports, in line with the principle of sustainable development. As a result of the harmonisation of the relevant legal regulations, Member States of the European Union and port and harbour authorities have taken a number of measures over the last few years to arrive at optimum solutions in this respect. The main objective of the paper is to analyse the existing system of environment al fees, the calculation criteria for such fees, and the techniques used in selected European Union seaports to submit ships’ waste notifications. The research is aimed, inter alia, at determining which of the solutions that are now used in Rotterdam, Antwerp and Klaipeda could possibly be optimal for the ports in Szczecin and Świnoujście.

Opis:: This paper describes the optimization studies aime dat analysing the impact of the parameter described by the discount factor on the cost of the system and its structure. The study was conducted on the example of the analysis of medical waste management system in north-eastern Poland, in the Podlaskie Province. The scope of operational research carried out under the optimization study was divided into two stages of optimization calculations with assumed technical and economic parameters of the system. In the first stage, the lowest cost of functioning of the analysed system was generated, whereas in the second one the influence of the input parameter of the system, i.e. the discount factor on the economic efficiency index (E) and the spatial structure of the medical waste management system was determined. With the assumed discount factor in the range of 0.980 to 0.909, the highest cost of the system was achieved at the level of 2332.60 PLN/Mg (increase of economic efficiency index E by ca. 46% in comparison with course 1, with discount factor = 0.980); furthermore, discount factor = 0.909 produced the lowest value of the economic efficiency index, i.e. E = 1164.20 PLN/Mg (a decrease of E by ca. 27% in comparison with course 1).
W artykule opisano badania optymalizacyjne, których celem była analiza wpływu parametru opisanego poprzez współczynnik dyskontowy na koszt funkcjonowania systemu i jego strukturę. Badania przeprowadzono na przykładzie analizy systemu gospodarki odpadami medycznymi w północno-wschodniej Polsce, w województwie podlaskim. Zakres badań operacyjnych, wykonany w ramach studium optymalizacji został podzielony na dwa etapy obliczeń optymalizacyjnych z założonymi parametrami techniczno-ekonomicznymi systemu. W pierwszym etapie wygenerowano najniższy koszt funkcjonowania analizowanego systemu, natomiast w drugim określono wpływ parametru wejściowego systemu, tj. współczynnika dyskontowego (wdysk) na wskaźnik efektywności kosztowej (E) oraz strukturę przestrzenną systemu gospodarowania odpadami medycznymi. Przy założonym współczynniku dyskonta w przedziale od 0,980 do 0,909, najwyższy koszt systemu został osiągnięty na poziomie 2332,60 zł/Mg (wzrost wskaźnika efektywności kosztowej E o ok. 46% w porównaniu z przebiegiem 1, przy założonym wdysk= 0,980), natomiast przy wdysk = 0,909 osiągnięto najniższą wartość wskaźnika efektywności kosztowej E = 1164,20 zł/Mg (spadek E o ok. 27% w stosunku do przebiegu 1).

Opis:: The article attempts to evaluate supply system of fly ash between power plants and mining plant. The main aim of this paper is to shown technical, organizational and environmental problems which are related to transport process of fly ash. This paper characterized the fly ash and its recovery. The article also described structure of delivery system, indicated carrier selection criteria, pointed out advantages and disadvantages various modes of transport used in supply chain and presents the possible risks to the safety of persons involved in the transport process. In addition, the paper presents possible improvements of the existing system and proposes an alternative solution.
W artykule podjęto próbę oceny istniejącego systemu dostaw popiołów lotnych pomiędzy zakładami energetyki i ciepłownictwa oraz zakładem górniczym. Głównym celem było wskazanie problemów technicznych, organizacyjnych oraz środowiskowych związanych z procesem transportu popiołów lotnych. W pracy scharakteryzowano popioły lotne oraz wskazano miejsca ich zagospodarowania. Opisano również system dostaw i jego strukturę, przedstawiono kryteria wyboru środków transportu oraz przewoźnika, wskazano zalety i wady różnych gałęzi transportu wykorzystywanych w systemie dostaw, a także zaprezentowano możliwe zagrożenia związane z bezpieczeństwem osób uczestniczących w procesie transportu. Ponadto w artykule przedstawiono możliwe usprawnienia istniejącego systemu oraz zaproponowano rozwiązanie alternatywne.
