    Opis:
    This paper concerns the possibility of MEMS accelerometers employment in road transportation assessment. It makes use of statistical analysis tools and calculation of securing forces for the sake of road safety enhancement. The transport experiment was carried out and the statistical analysis shows a possible solution to the assessment of shocks during transportation, that in general adversely affect the cargo being transported (cargo securing), the vehicle, the driver, etc. From the results, it follows that even in the case of a high quality road (highway), the values of the shocks at higher speeds considerably exceed the expected magnitudes as defined in the respective standards. The assessment of truck transportation with up-to-date MEMS accelerometers is simple and relatively inexpensive and may represent a considerable contribution to road safety, including associated financial benefits.

    In the paper we present the results of the Monte Carlo simulations of time-of-flight transient currents in hopping systems containing various, concentrations of transport-active centres placed in an inert matrix, and doped with various concentrations of additional transport-active centres, characterised by a different ionisation potential than the host transport centres. Such hopping centre distribution can be found in molecularly doped organic crystals. The carriers are allowed to jump between localised states of two kinds: the host transport sites of concentration c/sub 0/, and the additional doping sites of concentration c/sub d/. We deal only with the dependence of the carrier mobility on doping level, and on the difference of ionisation potentials between the host and dopant centres, at fixed external field and temperature. The results of simulations performed for various dopings, and various hopping sites distributions in energy, are discussed. The carrier jump statistics is discussed in detail.

    The object of the paper is to investigate the strenght of a separated subsystem of a wagon for transport of trucks semitrailers. The wagon designed in the Department of Mechanics and Applied Computer Science, Military University of Technology, allows easy and independent loading, transport and unloading without any special equipment or additional platform infrastructure. It is possible to utilize it for transport of various vehicles types such as tractors, cars, semitrailers, containers, heavy equipment. The tests presented in the paper concern a wagon separated construction element – a side lock. It is a key subsystem of the platform allowing transfer of its loads generated in the transport position (a wagon ready to go) to the form of longitudinal forces operating in the sides of the structure. The locks are simultaneously the most strained parts of the wagon. There were carried out the numerical analyses and experimental studies of a single lock were carried out. Owing to the application of Aramis non-contact optical system of strains measurement, the lock deformations as well as the areas of the minimum and maximum main deformations were defined.

    Opis:
    The paper deals with the leakage of nitric acid in road transport (ADR); its specifications, problems and complications during its leakage from the tank into the environment. The first part describes specific characteristics and their means of transport. Following part discusses the experimental investigation of the specific characteristics of HNO3 . The experiments on reaction of nitric acid in contact with diesel, gasoline, valvoline engine oil and coolant as well as with samples of common vehicle’s materials such as iron, aluminium, copper, tire rubber, ABS plastic and asphalt. Reactions observed not always met the expectations of strong reactions as described in Security data sheet. The third part describes a possible ways of acid leakage from the tank and its disposal. Recommendation concerning effective action of Fire units are described in order to stop the leaking and minimize the damage caused by nitric acid.

    Opis:
    Flight personnel have various factors that cause high psychological stress during the performance of flight tasks, thereby influencing their psycho-physiological experience, which may be a cause of a breach of air traffic safety. The paper presents the results of an experimental verification of task management under load, which allowed selection of probands from a sample of 100 participants in the presurvey. Overall, 70% of the probands achieved better results than the minimum level of success of simulated and the complex tasks, 60%. The main aim of the experiment, the presurvey, is to verify and prepare a final version of sets of test tasks in the field of measuring the psychophysiological performance of the candidates for aviation personnel and to complete the creation of a technical device and the software tool for these processes. The software will be filed for the patent protection of copyrights and subsequently used for solving an approved research project supported by a grant from the Agency for Science and Research of the Slovak Republic.

    The article is devoted to research new methods of physic-chemical methods of preventing deflation to protect railways and highways from such phenomena as exogenous sand drifts. In particular, first studied the possibility of using binders in sand wet state. Results can significantly extend the scope of the method, and identified with particular impregnation maintaining stability requirements protective cover reduces both the concentration previously recommended binders, and their costs, thereby securing implementation in practice of shifting sands resource-saving technology.
    Статья посвящена новому в исследованиях способов физико-химического метода предупреждения дефляции для защиты железных и автомобильных дорог от такого экзогенного явления как заносы песком. В частности, впервые изучена возможность применения вяжущих веществ в песках влажного состояния. Результаты позволяют существенно расширить область применения метода, а выявленные при этом особенности пропитки сохраняя требования к устойчивости защитной вяжущей песчаной корки приводят к снижению как концентрации рекомендованных ранее вяжущих, так и их расходы, обеспечивая тем самым внедрение в практику закрепления подвижных песков ресурсосберегающей технологии.
