Opis:
The purpose of the article is to illustrate the social order preferred by the Polish together with their assessment of the existing social inequalities. On the basis of the empirical material collected among the sample of 1000 respondents, the findings show manners of their definition of equity, perception of discrepancies between the ideal of equity and the existing real status, together with their assessment of the existing differences in the treatment of rich and poor people by various institutions (banks, police, hospitals, courts). The article also describes the causes of social inequalities as indicated by the respondents and their assessment of state policies in reference to them. The article concludes that 25 years after the collapse of “real socialism”, Polish society presents a firmly egalitarian awareness that is in conflict with the current market order.

As Atlantic Alliance aims to develop properly military capabilities, it has to pay special attention to military training, for only well-trained armed forces can take up the challenges and threats a state faces. The readiness level of the military is the major criterion for assessing the preparation of the armed forces to fulfill the objectives set for a state. Therefore, rational control and coordination of the servicemen’ training process is a very important factor in preparing contemporary Lithuanian Armed Forces. The Lithuanian Military Doctrine (2010) defines training principles of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and is a key document for preparing the military training strategy.

Opis:
The purpose of this article is to present the main directions of changes in the Estonian health care system following the transformation of the national economy and the accession of Estonia to the European Union. Special attention has been paid to the ways of sourcing, and the collection and redistribution of financial resources allocated to health care in different periods of the transformation. The initial changes introduced far-reaching decentralization of the health system, while further reforms led to his re-centralization. The intensity of the re-centralization of finance and health management processes was accelerated after 2008, when the impact of the global financial crisis on the condition of the economy of Estonia was significant. As a result of the introduced changes, Bismarck’s mixed system - a hybrid system - has been formed.
Celem artykułu jest prezentacja głównych kierunków zmian wprowadzanych w estońskim systemie zdrowia po transformacji systemowej gospodarki narodowej i przystąpieniu Estonii do Unii Europejskiej. Szczególna uwaga została zwrócona na sposoby pozyskiwania, gromadzenia i redystrybucji środków finansowych przeznaczonych na opiekę zdrowotną w poszczególnych okresach wprowadzania zmian. Początkowe zmiany wprowadzały daleko idącą decentralizację systemu zdrowotnego, natomiast kolejne reformy doprowadziły do ponownej jego centralizacji. Nasilenie się procesów ponownej centralizacji finansowania i zarządzania ochroną zdrowia nastąpiło po roku 2008, w którym zaobserwowano znaczny wpływ światowego kryzysu finansowego na kondycję gospodarki Estonii. W rezultacie wprowadzanych zmian ukształtował się mieszany system Bismarcka, zwany również hybrydowym.

The author explores the phenomenon of voluntary childlessness in Poland. She presents the results of her own research as part of a broader analysis of the issue of intentional childlessness. The focus of the article is on the reasons why men do not take on a parental role. The first part of the article covers the socio-cultural context of the research into voluntary childlessness, while the second part discusses the results of qualitative research conducted using, among other things, focus group and in-depth interviews with voluntarily childless men. It shows the reasons why men do not assume a parental role and the types of male childlessness by choice.
Autorka podejmuje problematykę dotyczącą zjawiska dobrowolnej bezdzietności w Polsce. Przedstawia wyniki badań własnych stanowiących część szerszych analiz dotyczących zagadnienia intencjonalnej bezdzietności. Problematyka relacjonowana w niniejszym tekście koncentruje się na przyczynach niepodejmowania roli rodzicielskiej przez mężczyzn. Część pierwsza tekstu obejmuje społeczno-kulturowy kontekst w badaniach nad dobrowolną bezdzietnością, część druga zawiera prezentację wyników badań jakościowych, realizowanych m.in. techniką wywiadu grupowego i indywidualnego z dobrowolnie bezdzietnymi mężczyznami. Ukazuje przyczyny niepodejmowania roli rodzicielskiej przez mężczyzn oraz typy męskiej bezdzietności z wyboru.

Social dialogue in post-1989 Poland has followed a long and curvy road. Introduction of tripartism, establishment of social dialogue institutions and conclusion of the 'Pact on the Transformation of State Enterprise' in 1993 propelled high hopes and expectations towards the domestic mutation of neocorporatism. In the following years, however, social dialogue in Poland would not produce another social pact, despite the fact that tripartite institutions have been working on regular basis and number of minor agreements have been consensually reached. The overall reception of Polish social dialogue both locally and internationally has been mixed with negative opinions prevailing. The article aims to show that such dismissive views are oversimplified by providing an account of obstacles, functions, chances and achievements social dialogue has had in Poland in comparison to western countries that did sign social pacts.

Opis:
The article analyzes the essence and problems of financial security, in particular the fiscal security of states. A fundamental analysis was carried out that allowed to rank countries according to their level of development, analyze tax rates in these countries and make hypotheses. The evolution of the concept of state security was studied, the theoretical approaches of different countries to determine the nature and methodology of financial security calculations were generalized. According to the methodology specified in the regulations of selected countries with the so-called "normal" step (supset) for each country, the financial security indicators were calculated separately. An integral part of financial security is the fiscal security of the state, because achieving stability in this area in the current conditions of economic instability is a state criterion, based on financial security and standard of living.

We deal with the investigation of L2-stability of the trivial solution to the system of difference equations with coefficients depending on a semi-Markov chain. In our considerations, random transformations of solutions are assumed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for L2-stability of the trivial solution to such systems are obtained. A method is proposed for constructing Lyapunov functions and the conditions for its existence are justified. The dynamic system and methods discussed in the paper are very well suited for use as models for protecting information in cyberspace.

Introduction and aims: The conformal transformations play the crucial role in the analysis of the global structure of the space-time. The main goal of this article is to present the consequences of the conformal transformation of the metric like the creation of the energy and momentum for the gravitational field or the creation of the matter. Material and methods: In the paper have been proved the transformation formulas for some geometrical and physical objects. The analytical methods have been used in the paper. Results: In the paper there were proved the transformation formulas of the affine connection, the covariant derivative, the geodesics, the curvature tensor, the Ricci tensor, the curvature scalar and the Weyl tensor. The Einstein’s equations were proved not to be invariant under the conformal rescaling of the metric, as well as the Landau-Lifshitz pseudotensor. Conclusion: The article shows that the conformal rescaling of the metric creates a new matter and an additional energy and momentum of the gravity. There is also possibility of creation of the Friedman universes from the vacuum.
Wstęp i cele: Transformacje konforemne odgrywają istotną rolę w analizie globalnej struktury czasoprzestrzeni. Głównym celem tego artykułu było przedstawienie konsekwencji konforemnego przeskalowania metryki takich jak kreacja energii i pędu dla pola grawitacyjnego oraz kreacja materii. Materiał i metody: W pracy zostały udowodnione wzory transformacyjne dla niektórych obiektów geometrycznych i fizycznych. Metody analityczne zostały wykorzystane w tym artykule. Wyniki: W pracy zostały udowodnione prawa transformacyjne dla koneksji afinicznej, pochodnej kowariantnej, linii geodezyjnych, tensora krzywizny, tensora Ricciego, skalara krzywizny i tensora Weyla. Udowodniono, że równania Einsteina jak również tensor Landaua-Lifszyca nie są konforemnie niezmiennicze w wyniku konforemnego przeskalowania metryki. Wniosek: Artykuł pokazuje, że konforemne przeskalowanie metryki kreuje nową materię i dodatkową energię oraz pęd grawitacji. Istnieje również możliwość tworzenia wszechświatów Friedmana z próżni.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The article presents the way in which the narration concerning the identity of the town of Sanok is created. The aim of the article is to show who and how “tells the town’s story.” The subjects of the study are narrations functioning in the social space of Sanok. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The research proceeded to establish the “content” of the place’s identity, the entities that construct it, and the ways of maintaining and manifesting them. It was based on the existing data i.e. Sanok photo albums, guide books or websites. The first stage of the research depended on the quantitative analysis whereas in the second stage the data was processed using the qualitative analysis to discover and reveal individual perspectives of perceiving the city adopted by the authors of the texts. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The article describes the process of building a narration on the identity of the place, which is a response to the crisis caused by the process of systemic transformation. It shows how different narrations on the identity of the town are constructed and how they are changed when the socio-economic situation of Sanok is changing. RESEARCH RESULTS: The data analysis shows that the identity of Sanok is a social construct influenced by many factors. It is not stable and it is being constructed all the time. CONCLUSION, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Each decade brings changes in the perception of the town’s identity. The changing socio-political and economic situation will change the existing narration, which is worth investigating.

The purpose of this paper is twofold. Firstly, it introduces the transformations, which the criminal trial procedure in Poland will undergo following the amendment of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 27 September 2013. Secondly, it explains the consequences that the altered criminal law will have on Polish courtroom discourse. The paper comprises three major parts. It commences with the demonstration of the inquisitorial procedure of witness examination in criminal trials as investigated, described, and expounded by Bednarek (2014), prior to the amendment of criminal law in Poland. Subsequently, it presents the criticism of the inquisitorial criminal trial by the representatives of academia and legal practitioners in Poland, and explains the reasons for the transformation of the inquisitorial criminal trial into an adversarial one. Finally, it demonstrates the new regulations of the Code of Criminal Procedure pertaining to the criminal trial and establishes what effects they will have on Polish courtroom discourse. The paper ends with concluding remarks emphasizing the pressing need for novel and thorough investigations of the language used by judges, attorneys for the prosecution and attorneys for the defense in criminal trials in Poland following the amendment of the criminal law. At the time when this paper is being written the study of courtroom discourse conducted by Bednarek (2014) is the only investigation of talk in interaction in the milieu of Polish courts that focuses on the modus operandi of witness examination from the point of view of linguistics.
Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie transformacji, jakiej ulega procedowanie rozpraw karnych w Polsce w konsekwencji modernizacji k.p.k. z dnia 27 września 2013, a także wyjaśnienie skutków zmian prawa karnego na polski dyskurs sądowy. Artykuł składa się z trzech części. Rozpoczyna się prezentacją inkwizycyjnej procedury przesłuchania świadków w sprawach karnych, które zbadała, opisała i objaśniła Bednarek (2014). Następnie demonstruje uwagi krytyczne polskich przedstawicieli nauki oraz praktyków pod adresem inkwizycyjnej rozprawy karnej, a także wyjaśnia przyczyny transformacji rozprawy karnej z inkwizycyjnej na kontradyktoryjną. Ostatnia część artykułu demonstruje nowe przepisy k.p.k. odnoszące się do rozprawy karnej oraz omawia skutki, jakie one spowodują w polskim dyskursie sądowym.  Artykuł kończą uwagi podkreślające pilną potrzebę przeprowadzenia nowych, kompleksowych badań dotyczących języka używanego przez sędziów, prokuratorów i obrońców w rozprawach karnych w Polsce w świetle zmiany prawa karnego.

Financial, political, ideological, sociological, cultural and existential transitions in Poland are experienced as a far more complex process than what it seemed in the beginning. The challenges Poles are facing in a new, democratic society, in some ways, are more demanding than those in a socialist one. In this article, the author presents sociological data, gathered by the Public Opinion Research Centre in Poland, showing the public opinion about the change in the system since 1989. The evaluation of the social consequences of transformation is not unequivocal. 37 % believe that the post-1989 changes brought more benefits than losses to the people. On the negative side, Poles note the increase in individualism and weakening of interpersonal ties. Negative public sentiment grew in Poland especially after 2009, five years after Polish accession to the European Union when the average salary of Poles accounted for about 25-30% of earnings in Western Europe, many people could not find employment in Poland and so they had to migrate to Western Europe.

The model transformations of Polish public administration after 1989 were the result of the necessary and inevitable consequence of events related to erosion and the collapse of the „real socialism” system. Its internal decomposition, as a result of social reality inadequacy, created a situation in which it was possible to undertake deep systemic reforms in Poland. Democratization of the government system in Poland was an extremely complex process generating numerous problems and showing the scale of adversity in all spheres of social life. All political and structural changes in Poland after 1989 were also possible due to propitious external, international conditions. Especially the collapse of the USSR brought certain possibilities for Poland and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe to regain full sovereignty, which was later expressed in membership in NATO, the Council of Europe, and then European Union accession. As a result of the systemic and political transformation process, the administration has become an extremely important cell in the democratic legal order and the entity responsible for the implementation of a significant part of public tasks at the local, supra-local and regional levels.

This paper is a critical analysis of the ‘death of class’ thesis advanced by Jan Pakulski and others. The thesis is found to be flawed on theoretical and substantive grounds.
Artykuł zawiera krytyczną analizę tezy o „śmierci klas”, sformułowanej przez Jana Pakulskiego i innych badaczy struktury klasowej, która okazała się błędna, zarówno na gruncie teoretycznym, jak i na poziomie faktów.

Opis:
The text deals with teachers’ attitudes and opinions of the transformation of the Czech schools. It answers the following question: Which are the risky factors for current teachers to be able to adopt the concept of the integrated teaching process and to be able to get rid of residue of the encyclopaedic approach to the teaching process in Czech schools. Teachers’ attitudes and their connection with reflection of their work and their self-reflection are defined briefly. The author describes research problems, questions, hypotheses and aims of the research realised in 20 schools in the city of Ostrava and its neighbourhood within the Research Project of our organisation named New Opportunities in Education of Teachers, Educators and Pupils for the Learning Society of the 21st Century (VZO CEZ: JOB/98: 174500001) during the years 2000– 2003. She interprets results of this research and conclusions following from it for the pedagogical practice.
