Due to the popularity of video games in various applications, including both commercial and social marketing, there is a need to assess their content in terms of player satisfaction, already at the production stage. For this purpose, the indices used in EEG tests can be used. In this publication, a formula has been created based on the player's commitment to determining which elements in the game should be improved and for which graphic emblems connected with social campaigns were more memorable and whether this was related to commitment. The survey was conducted using a 2D platform game created in Unity based on observations of 28 recipients. To evaluate the elements occurring in the game at which we obtain a higher memory for graphic characters, a corresponding pattern was created based on player involvement. The optimal Index for moving and static objects and the Index for destruction were then selected based on the feedback. Referring to the issue of graphic emblems depicting social campaigns should be placed in a place where other activities such as fighting will not be distracted, everyone will be able to reach the level where the recently placed advertisement is. This study present the developed method to determine the degree of player's engagement in particular elements in the game using the EEG and to explore the relationship between the visibility of social advertising and engagement in a 2D platform game where the player has to collect three keys and defeat the ultimate opponent.

Opis:
Laser Tracking systems are commonly used in all branches of industry, which requires accurate large-scale measurements for instance aviation, space and shipbuilding industries. Laser Trackers belong to the group of non-Cartesian Coordinate Measuring Systems. Determination of the measured point coordinates involves the measurements of distance using laser beam and two angles recorded by horizontal and vertical encoders. Additionally, the environmental conditions are monitored and used for compensation of measured distance. The coordinates of single measured point are estimated using the results obtained from a series of samples taken in a short time period. The average value obtained from a sample is given as a result; additionally, the dispersion parameters are calculated which can be used to evaluate the probing process. This paper presents the research procedure which allows assessing the influence of chosen dispersion parameter related to the sample averaging on accuracy of the measurements performed with laser tracking devices. The procedure involves standard elements measurements during which the points with similar level of RMS parameter are used for the calculation of the measurement result. Such approach allows simulating the increasing dispersion of points taken into account during sample probing. The results presented in the article can be helpful to the operators of laser tracking systems to assess the influence of the probing process on the measurement accuracy.

The paper presents basics of the eye tracking methodology and results of preliminary test on multi-purpose marine ship’s navigation bridge simulator. The use of the eye-tracker on the navigation bridge makes it possible to objectively measure the ergonomics of the individual interfaces, as well as to evaluate the decision-making process itself, including the mental workload and stress. In the experiment, officers were faced with an unexpected and sudden situation leading to a collision. The simulated situation required the officer to act immediately and resolutely, taking into account all his/her knowledge about the ship, and interpreting the available data correctly. Outcome of this test was compared with gaze data and it was proved that experienced group with best results suffered lowest level of mental workload and was most efficient In decision making process. Based on those results a possibility of improving simulator training with the use of eye tracking data is discussed.

Screw axis measurement methods obtain a precise identification of the physical reality of the industrial robots’ geometry. However, these methods are in a clear disadvantage compared to mathematical optimisation processes for kinematical parameters. That’s because mathematical processes obtain kinematical parameters which best reduce the robot errors, despite not necessarily representing the real geometry of the robot. This paper takes the next step at the identification of a robot’s movement from the identification of its real kinematical parameters for the later study of every articulation’s rotation. We then obtain a combination of real kinematic and dynamic parameters which describe the robot’s movement, improving its precision with a physical understanding of the errors.

The issue of intellectual property protection on the global information network the Internet has recently become a matter of serious concern on the part of rights holders. Copyright, which arose with the invention of book printing in medieval Europe, was originally planned and understood as an institution of exclusive author’s monopoly on the production of material copies of works. In fact, it is in this context that the concept of copyright existed until the XXI century. On the eve of the new millennium, the emergence of an unprecedented phenomenon for its time - the World Wide Web, has significantly shaken traditional views on the concept of copyright and the limits of its regulation. The effectiveness of the copyright approach to the protection of the legitimate interests of right holders was questioned as early as 1845 by the American judge in the case of Emerson V. Davies. In his opinion, the exclusive rights to the results of creative activity are inadmissible, given that these results themselves are the result of thoughts, ideas, images that were created and repeatedly used by other people. Indeed, creativity is impossible without attracting or borrowing from the “intellectual treasury” of civilization. With the development of modern information technology, such borrowing has become available to anyone with an Internet connection. With the proliferation of computer programs that allow you to record music, create images, animation, creativity is no longer an elite activity available only to the select few.

The paper is focused on application of the clustering algorithm and Decision Tress classifier (DTs) as a semi-supervised method for the task of cognitive workload level classification. The analyzed data were collected during examination of Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST) with use of eye-tracker device. 26 participants took part in examination as vol-unteers. There were conducted three parts of DSST test with different levels of difficulty. As a results three versions were obtained of data: low, middle and high level of cognitive workload. The case study covered clustering of collected data by using k-means algorithm to detect three clusters or more. The obtained clusters were evaluated by three internal indices to measure the quality of clustering. The David-Boudin index detected the best results in case of four clusters. Based on this information it is possible to formulate the hypothesis of the existence of four clusters. The obtained clus-ters were adopted as classes in supervised learning and have been subjected to classification. The DTs was applied in classification. There were obtained the 0.85 mean accuracy for three-class classification and 0.73 mean accuracy for four-class classification.
Celem artykułu było zastosowanie klasteryzacji wraz z klasyfikatorem Drzew Decyzyjnych jako częściowo nadzoro-wanej metody klasyfikacji poziomu obciążenia poznawczego. Dane przeznaczone do analizy zostały zebrane podczas badania DSST (z ang. Digit Symbol Substitution Test) z użyciem urządzenia eye-tracker. 26 wolontariuszów wzięło udział w badaniu. Zostały przeprowadzone trzy części testu DSST o różnych poziomach trudności. W wyniku tego, otrzymano trzy wersje danych: z niskim, średnim i wysokim poziomem obciążenia poznawczego. Do analizy danych został użyty algorytm klasteryzacji k-means do wyznaczenia trzech lub większej liczby klastrów. Uzyskane klastry zostały poddane ocenie przy użyciu trzech wewnętrznych indeksów w celu zmierzenia jakości klasteryzacji. Indeks David-Boudin’a wykazał najlepsze rezultaty w przypadku istnienia czterech klastrów. Do klasyfikacji danych został użyty klasyfikator Drzew Decyzyjnych . Otrzymano średnią dokładność równą 0.85 w przypadku 3-klasowej klasyfikacji oraz 0.73 średnią dokładność dla 4-klasowej klasyfikacji.

Opis:
The sequential multilateration principle is often adopted in geometric error measurement of CNC machine tools. To identify the geometric errors, a single laser tracker is placed at different positions to measure the length between the target point and the laser tracker. However, the measurement of each laser tracker position is not simultaneous and measurement accuracy is mainly subject to positioning repeatability of the machine tool. This paper attempts to evaluate the measurement uncertainty of geometric errors caused by the positioning repeatability of the machine tool and the laser tracker spatial length measurement error based on the Monte Carlo method. Firstly, a direct identification method for geometric errors of CNC machine tools based on geometric error evaluation constraints is introduced, combined with the geometric error model of a three-axis machine tool. Moreover, uncertainty contributors caused by the repeatability of positioning of numerically controlled axes of the machine tool and the laser length measurement error are analyzed. The measurement uncertainty of the geometric error and the volumetric positioning error is evaluated with the Monte Carlo method. Finally, geometric error measurement and verification experiments are conducted. The results show that the maximum volumetric positioning error of the machine tool is 84.1 μm and the expanded uncertainty is 5.8 μm ( = 2). The correctness of the geometric error measurement and uncertainty evaluation method proposed in this paper is verified compared with the direct geometric error measurement methods.

Virtual reality (VR) has become a realistic alternative to conventional learning methods in numerous fields including military training. Accurate and precise tracking of a user wearing a head-mounted display is necessary to achieve an immersive VR experience. The widely available SteamVR system, where licensed users can design and construct trackers optimized for a given application can be an alternative to very expensive professional motion tracking. This paper presents the complete design process of a SteamVR tracker dedicated to a shooting simulation in a VR environment. We describe the optimization and simulation of the tracker’s shape and configuration of the sensors. In the simulation phase the developed model had better parameters than its commercial counterparts. Next, the optimized prototype was constructed and configured. The dedicated and automated measuring arrangement provided experimental verification of the tracker’s performance. Tracking performance as well as the accuracy and precision of both position and orientation measurements were determined and compared with simulations, which proved that the simulation software can accurately predict selected properties of the proposed tracker.

This paper details a proposal for the position control system of a two-axis ship-mounted tracker. Aspects of the non-linear dynamics governing Line-Of-Sight (LOS) errors between the tracker and the target are presented. It is shown that the regulation of LOS errors can be achieved by introducing a feed-forward term based on the target’s velocity. This velocity is not measurable, and an estimator is required. Given that the tracking problem is non-linear, the classical separation principle does not hold, and cascading the estimator and regulator together may not lead to an optimal position control system. The ‘LQAdaptive’ system proposed here aims therefore to improve conformity to the separation principle. Simulation trials show that tracking is improved under the LQAdaptive system in comparison to a simple estimator-regulator structure.

This paper considers the properties of a minimum variance self-tuning tracker for MIMO systems described by ARMAX models. It is assumed that the stochastic noise has a non-Gaussian distribution. Such an assumption introduces into a recursive algorithm a nonlinear transformation of the prediction error. The system under consideration is minimum phase with different dimensions for input and output vectors. In the paper the concept of Kronecker’s product is used, which allows us to represent unknown parameters in the form of vectors. For parameter estimation a stochastic approximation algorithm is employed. Using the concept of the stochastic Lyapunov function, global stability and optimality of the feedback system are established.

The position of the trunk can be negatively influenced by many diseases. Several methods can be used for identifying defects in balance and coordination as a result of pathology of the musculoskeletal or nervous system. The aim of this article is to examine the relationship between the three methods used for analysis of trunk sway and compare two fundamentally different MoCap systems. We used a camera system and a 3DOF orientation tracker placed on subject’s trunk, and measured inclination (roll) and flexion (pitch) during quiet stance. Ten healthy participants in the study were measured with eyes open and closed. The pitch versus roll plots of trunk were formed, and the area of the convex hull, area of confidence ellipse and total length of the trajectory of the pitch versus roll plot were calculated. The statistical analysis was performed and strong correlation between the area of the convex hull and area of the confidence ellipse was found. Also, the results show moderate correlation between the area of the confidence ellipse and total length of the trace, and moderate correlation between the area of the convex hull and total length of the trace. In general, the different MoCap systems show different areas and lengths but lead to the same conclusions. Statistical analysis of the participants with eyes open and eye closed did not show significant difference in the areas and total lengths of the pitch versus roll plots.
