    The Code of Canon Law of John Paul II sets forth in can. 998 as follows: “The anointing of the sick, by which the Church commends to the suffering and glori fi ed Lord the faithful who are dangerously ill, so that he may support and save them, is conferred by anointing them with oil and pronouncing the words prescribed in the liturgical books”.Through this sacramental entrusting of a sick person, the Church shows redemptive action taken by the Christ himself, who shall support the sick person with the power of God’s grace in suffering, impatience, fear, and above all in physical and spiritual weakness as well as in experienced doubts and weakening in faith.A family and persons ministering the sick (priests, hospital chaplains) should earlier take care of proper instructing about the nature of anointing of the sick and adequate preparation of the sick to receive this grace from the healing Christ. This may take place through conversation, catechesis, supporting with words of faith and common prayer, arousing a wish to receive the Christ in the mystery of anointing.This article consists of seven points: 1. The letter from James as the starting point of the discussion; 2. Several historical facts; 3. Catechism of the Catholic Church concerning the sacrament of the anointing of the sick; 4. Sacramental grace; 5. Who should and can receive the sacrament of the anointing; 6. People responsible for the better reception of the sacrament by the sick; 7. Conclusion.

    Pasterze Kościoła w Polsce – inspirowani proroczą wizją błogosławionego Jana Pawła – podjęli się na początku trzeciego tysiąclecia zadania urzeczywistniania Kościoła, aby był domem dla swych dzieci. Taka jest myśl przewodnia trzyletniego Ogólnopolskiego Programu Duszpasterskiego na początku drugiej dekady XXI wieku. W budowaniu wspólnoty Kościoła fundamentalną rolę pełnią sakramenty święte. Spośród wszystkich sakramentów Kościoła ważną rolę spełniają tak zwane sakramenty uzdrowienia, czyli sakrament pokuty i pojednania oraz sakrament namaszczenia chorych. Stanowią one nieodzowny składnik kościelnej tożsamości. Są to sakramenty w szczególny sposób odpowiedzialne za tworzenie i budowanie wspólnoty Kościoła. Z publikacji wynika, że pokuta i namaszczenie mają wyraźnie charakter eklezjalny. Dlatego wierne wypełnianie przez chrześcijan wszystkich zobowiązań płynących z sakramentu pokuty i namaszczenia chorych staje się zaczynem ewangelicznym, który sprawia, że w Kościele uobecnia się wspólnota jedności, miłości i pokoju. Poprzez wierność swojemu powołaniu i świadectwo życia człowiek pojednany z Bogiem w sakramencie pokuty i umocniony przyjęciem sakramentu namaszczenia przyczynia się do wzrostu całego Kościoła i do jego świętości. Wszystko zatem, co istotne w życiu Kościoła i co nadaje mu prawdziwego wymiaru i znaczenia, można odnaleźć w sakramencie pokuty i namaszczenia.
    Inspired by the prophetic vision of Blessed John Paul, the pastors of the Church in Poland made huge efforts to ensure that the Church is becoming a real home for her children. The statement became the keynote of the Polish Pastoral Program at the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century. Building the Church community is of key importance for creating a common sense of fraternity, unity and peace in the world. The sacraments play a fundamental role in enhancing the process. Among all the sacraments, the so called Sacraments of Healing, namely the sacrament of penance and reconciliation and the sacrament of anointing of the sick, are of crucial importance, since they constitute an indispensable element of ecclesial identity. The article aims at showing the clearly ecclesial character of the sacrament of penance and the sacrament of the anointing. It also points out that faithful Christian fulfilment of all obligations arising from the sacraments of penance and anointing becomes the leaven of the Gospel, making the community of unity, love and peace present in the Church. Man reconciled with God in the Sacrament of Penance and strengthened in the Sacrament of the Anointing contributes to the growth of the whole Church and her holiness. Therefore, every important aspect of the life of the Church, and all that gives it the true dimension and meaning, can be found in the Sacraments of Healing.

    Opis:
    Iwona Siekierzyńska school film Missy takes up the theme of a girl’s unfulfilled love for a priest. Her dog named Ledwosz not only accompanies her in the experience of encountering the man in cassock, while his anointing of a sick neighbor, but also triggers the situation that caused her infatuation. This brief and accidental contact with the priest turns out to be a breakthrough experience for the teenage girl looking for love and attention. It means her entering the adult world in which it is easy to miss a crucial moment, or hurt somebody’s feelings quite unconsciously. The young girl’s experience of the brief encounter will remain in her forever. The relation between the female character and her dog from the short film was the inspiration to consider the similarities between Missy and Three Colors: Red, by Krzysztof Kieślowski, who was the artistic supervisor of Siekierzyńska’s film. In both films it is a dog that initiates the process resulting in metaphysical experience for the main characters.

    This article is a study of a scientific and research character. It contains an analysis of the legal measures, the aim of which is to provide appropriate protection to a person who is the subject of an incapacitation petition. The synthesis is centred on an answer to the question whether it is legally admissible to file a petition for protection in the proceedings concerning an adult for the purpose of securing the property of this person. The author gives arguments in favour of the affirmative answer to this question. This is corroborated not only by the general purpose of the protective proceedings, that is protection of interests of the person concerned, but also by the functional and literal interpretation of Article 730 § 1, Article §§ 1–3 and Article 755 of the Civil Procedure Code. Issuing a decision about protection in incapacitation proceedings and entry of a warning in the Land and Mortgage Register on the basis of a judicial decision about granting protection are legally admissible instruments providing relevant protection to the sick person. Together with the legal measures which offer a chance to present arguments effectively on behalf of the person who is the subject of an incapacitation petition, they provide a guarantee of adequate protection of interests of the person concerned. The article discusses the subject from a novel perspective. The presented issue has not been analysed comprehensively in the literature on the subject so far. In the author’s opinion, the article deals with the issues of the national range, important also for practitioners of law.
    Niniejszy artykuł jest opracowaniem o charakterze naukowo-badawczym, w którym zawarta jest analiza środków prawnych służących zapewnieniu należytej ochrony osobie, której dotyczy wniosek o ubezwłasnowolnienie. Skoncentrowano się na odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy jest prawnie dopuszczalne złożenie wniosku o zabezpieczenie w postępowaniu dotyczącym osoby pełnoletniej celem zabezpieczenia posiadanego przez nią majątku. Autorka podaje argumenty uzasadniające, że odpowiedź na tak postawione pytanie powinna być twierdząca. Przemawia za tym nie tylko ogólny cel postępowania zabezpieczającego, którym jest zabezpieczenie interesów osoby, której dotyczy wniosek, lecz także wykładnia funkcjonalna i literalna art. 730 § 1, art. 7301 § 1–3 i art. 755 Kodeksu postępowania cywilnego. Wydanie postanowienia o zabezpieczeniu w postępowaniu o ubezwłasnowolnienie i wpis ostrzeżenia do księgi wieczystej na podstawie postanowienia sądu o udzieleniu zabezpieczenia jest jednym z prawnie dopuszczalnych instrumentów zapewniających należytą ochronę chorego. Wraz ze środkami prawnymi dającymi możliwość efektywnego przedstawienia argumentów za osobę, której dotyczy wniosek o ubezwłasnowolnienie, tworzą one gwarancję dostatecznego zabezpieczenia interesów osoby, której dotyczy postępowanie. W artykule został zaprezentowany temat w zupełnie nowym ujęciu. Przedstawione zagadnienie nie było dotychczas dostatecznie analizowane w literaturze przedmiotu. Artykuł w ocenie autorki dotyczy tematyki o zasięgu krajowym, istotnej również dla praktyków prawa.

    Opis:
    Safety of use of the buildings refers i.a. to ensuring appropriate hygienic and sanitary conditions and also health conditions. According to the EU Directive on the energy performance of buildings, there is a need to define the conditions for the classification of objects in terms of indoor microclimate requirements. Evaluating the quality of the interior environment in buildings and specifying the requirements of people staying in them, first of all the values of thermal microclimate parameters and air quality should be taken into account. Long-term influence of disadvantageous of environmental conditions may cause or exacerbate many symptoms associated with abnormal functioning of the organism and lead to the weakness or illness. This phenomenon is called sick building syndrome, and the symptoms of the syndrome such as eyes and respiratory tract irritation, malaise, dizziness and headache or fatigue are linked to time spent in the building. The article presents the results of research on the condition of the interior environment in educational buildings, identifies factors affecting the formation of environmental conditions in the rooms and shows the influence of the interiors environment in buildings on the human body. The relationships between the basic parameters of the interior microclimate and the state of feeling satisfaction with the environmental conditions that surrounds the human are tracked. It was found that in many cases commonly used gravitational ventilation is not able to ensure the proper conditions of the interior microclimate, and the concentrations of carbon dioxide recorded in the tested rooms exceeded the applicable standards.
