Opis:
The article presents a prototype of a system for analyzing data from a honeypot network. A special attention is paid to finding similarities in the collected ssh sessions. The algorithm proposed looks for generalized patterns in the session using suffix trees. The patterns can be used for a convenient presentation of the displayed sessions and for searching. The examples of analysis carried out with the help of the algorithm are presented.

Opis:
The article discusses the use of word sequences in text classification. As opposed to ngrams, word sequences are not of a fixed length and therefore allow the classifier to obtain flexibility necessary to operate on documents collected from various sources. Presented classifier is built upon the suffix tree structure which enables word sequences to take part in classification process. During classification, both single words and longer sequences are taken into account and have impact on the category assignment with respect to their frequency and length. The Suffix Tree Classifier and well known Naive Bayes Classifier are compared and their properties are discussed. Obtained results show that incorporating word sequences into text classification can increase accuracy and reveal some interesting relations between maximal length of used sequences and classifier's error rate.

Opis:
This paper deals with the information function of two nominal suffixes, -i appearing in all nouns, and -n- in first- and second-person pronouns in Basketo, a North Omotic language predominantly spoken in the Basketo Special Woreda in Ethiopia. The suffix -i is often described as nominative. However, object nouns without definite marker can be marked by -i, and as a result -i can appear in both subject and object in the same sentence. We analyze morpheme -i as a marker of specificity. Suffix -n- distinguishes short and long forms of the first- and second-person subject pronoun. The short form is the same as the possessive. In general, possessive does not bear any pragmatic information in discourse. Likewise, short pronouns also show no pragmatic function, but show what is subject or agent in a clause. On the other hand, long pronouns are morphologically and pragmatically marked. We analyze morpheme -n- as the foregrounded topic in discourse in contrast with zero anaphora.

Opis:
Full-text indexing aims at building a data structure over a given text capable of efficiently finding arbitrary text patterns, and possibly requiring little space. We propose two suffix array inspired full-text indexes. One, called SA-hash, augments the suffix array with a hash table to speed up pattern searches due to significantly narrowed search interval before the binary search phase. The other, called FBCSA, is a compact data structure, similar to Mäkinen’s compact suffix array (MakCSA), but working on fixed size blocks. Experiments on the widely used Pizza & Chili datasets show that SA-hash is about 2–3 times faster in pattern searches (counts) than the standard suffix array, for the price of requiring 0.2n–1.1n bytes of extra space, where n is the text length. FBCSA, in one of the presented variants, reduces the suffix array size by a factor of about 1.5–2, while it gets close in search times, winning in speed with its competitors known from the literature, MakCSA and LCSA.

A net presentation of Lithuanian sentences containing verbal forms with the grammatical suffix -dav-In the article the authors make an attempt to present the meaning of Lithuanian sentences containing verbal forms with the grammatical suffix -dav- (the so-called iterative past tense forms) by means of Petri nets. The authors gradually develop the net to such complexity that it makes it possible to avoid interpretative similarities to other Lithuanian verbal forms.

Opis:
The main objective of this paper is to juxtapose selected Polish motion verbs, which are either used as Determinate or as Indeterminate forms, and signal contrasts between Polish and English in terms of the type of presented Motion Event, i.e. the schematic Manner, and the schematic Path. The paper has a descriptive character, aiming to signal potential problems in translating into English Polish discourse with the same verb occurring in its Determinate and Indeterminate forms. It attempts to demonstrate possible alterations in the English versions regarding grammatical aspects, lexical aspects, and also the semantics of the Indeterminate verbs which are sometimes perfective, and the Determinate verbs which are sometimes imperfective, despite the satellite elements.
