Opis:
Entrepreneurs running their businesses usually pursue goals associated with work and family functioning. The efficiency of goal realization in these two areas of activity varies and may depend on balance between the two domains. The study aimed to answer the question of how interplays between the work and family domains (work-to-family conflict, family-to-work conflict, work-to-family facilitation, and family-to-work facilitation) were related to the realization of work and family goals in entrepreneurs. It also tested if sex was a moderator of these relationships. A total of 246 entrepreneurs participated in the study; they were married or in stable non-marital relationships. Structural equation modeling showed that family-to-work conflict is negatively related to work goal realization and family goal realization, and work-to-family facilitation is positively related to family goal realization. Sex does not moderate the relationships analyzed. The study provides insight into the relationships of conflict and facilitation to goal realization in people running their businesses.

Opis:
The article disambiguates the content of the expression of structural form on the basis of meanings attributed to the words forming it and the context of the use in the literature in the field of aesthetics and architecture. Based on the analysis made, it was deduced that the set of features characterizing the structural form authorizes to treat it as a component able to influence the aesthetic value of an architectural work. On the examples of structural forms determined by the reciprocity of structural elements, the profits resulting from the adaptability of their geometries to search for the right architectural form are proved.

Opis:
In this work, we integrated exploratory factor analysis (EFA) followed by structural equation modeling (SEM) to assess the work performance efficiency under the traffic noise environment for open shutter shopkeepers in the Indian urban context. 706 valid questionnaire responses by personal interviews in local language were collected from open shutter shopkeepers exposed to noise level (Leq) of 77 dBA for 12 to 14 hours daily. The questionnaire was prepared based on demographics, environmental conditions, and primary effects of noise pollution. Among which four common latent factors which summaries 17 questionnaire response items were obtained by exploratory factor analysis, which are “Impacts of noise” (IM), “Environmental conditions” (EC), “Personal characteristics” (PC) and “Work efficiency” (WE). The associations between the individual latent factors were studied by the structural equation model method in AMOS software. Validation of the constructed model was carried out by testing the proposed hypothesis as well as goodness-of-fit indices like Absolute fit, Incremental fit, and Parsimonious fit indices. The effect of specific latent factors derived on the work efficiency of shopkeepers in the noisy area was characterized by the path coefficients estimated in the SEM model. It was found that work performance efficiency (WE) was greatly influenced by the primary impacts of noise pollution like annoyance, stress, interference in spoken communication, which was associated with the latent factor “Impacts of noise” (IM) with a path coefficient of 0.931. The second latent factor “Environmental conditions” (EC), which was associated with parameters like ambient temperature and humidity, showed less path coefficient of 0.153. And lastly, a latent factor called “Personal characteristics” (PC) associated with age, experience, education, showed the least path coefficient of 0.05. The work efficiency of open shutter shopkeepers working in a highly noisy commercial area is profoundly affected by the prominent effects of noise pollution and least affected by ambient environmental conditions as well as their personal characteristics. The developed model clarified some casual relationships among complex systems in the study of noise exposure on individuals n tier 2 cities in the Indian context and may help other researchers to study of tier I and tier III cities.

Opis:
Many structural engineers claim that work experience plays a distinctive role in how well engineers drive their productivity. Compensation or salary also plays a distinctive role in how well engineers perform, based on the quantity of project worked delivered rather than on the time spent on the job, and is particularly beneficial for increasing engineer productivity. The main purpose of this study is to determine the influence of structural engineers' compensation, work experience and project worked on career success. This study also aims to (i) determine the type and number of work experience that a structural engineer has; (ii) ability to have knowledge on the structural project worked by a structural engineer; (iii) identify the type of workplace responsibility on the structural project (iv) understand the scope and the construction technology applies on the structural project; (v) determine the different type of projects worked by a structural engineer by groupings; (vi) establish a relationship between structural worked and compensation from work experience on career success of a structural engineer. The findings of the study revealed that structural engineers' work experiences in design management, managing construction, and teaching structural design are significantly influenced by structural engineer's compensation whereas, structural engineer's compensation does not have significant influence on structural engineers' structural project worked.

Opis:
The article presents the results of analysis, the use of continuous flow of logic at the stage of production planning and control of the company producing furniture. The concept of continuous flow tends to regulate the flow of materials in a manner that provides the shortest flow path without unnecessary activities (Muda is a Japanese word meaning waste), a constant takt and defined throughput at constant resource requirements for the so-called transfer of material through the whole process. In the study Glenday’d sieve method was used to identify the correct area, which requires the value stream mapping, and areas called excessive complexity, which do not provide added value. The use of Glenday’s sieve method made it possible to identify areas in which it must be improve production capacity.

Opis:
The authors have outlined a method for analysing the fatigue degradation of mechanical structures described in terms of variations in the mobility of dynamic impedances, their real and imaginary parts and fluctuations in the strength of dynamic rigidity and the strength of the internal damping of structures expressed as a function of degradation time (the number of degrading impulse impacts). The variations are identified over the full scope of destruction ranging from nucleation to dominant fracturing. Such an identification is carried out by the method of experimental modal analysis and by energy-based methods with the use of a mechatronic accelerated testing station. The paper provides definitions of the related measurable measures of the process[6]. The point is illustrated with an overview of selected strength characteristics of modern construction steel.
Przedstawiono zarys metody analizy procesu degradacji zmęczeniowej struktur mechanicznych, opisanej przez charakterystyki zmian mobilności dynamicznych, impedancji, ich części rzeczywistych i części urojonych oraz zmian mocy sił sztywności dynamicznych i mocy sił tłumienia wewnętrznego struktur w funkcji czasu procesu degradacji(liczba degradujących uderzeń impulsowych). Charakterystyki te wyznacza się w pełnym zakresie procesu niszczenia od nukleacji do dominującego pęknięcia metodą eksperymentalnej analizy modalnej i metodami energetycznymi z zastosowaniem mechatronicznego stanowiska badań przyspieszonych. Praca zawiera definicje mierzalnych miar procesu. Jako przykład zamieszczono wybrane charakterystyki właściwości wytrzymałościowych nowoczesnych stali konstrukcyjnych.
