Opis:
This paper presents an experimental study on resistance spot welding of SPA-H weathering steel sheets used in side wall and roof application of rail vehicle bodies. SPA-H steel sheets having 2.3 mm thicknesses were joined by using resistance spot welding as lap joint. A timer and current controlled resistance spot welding machine having 120 kVA capacity and a pneumatic application mechanism with a single lever was used to prepare the specimens. Welding periods were chosen as 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 periods (1 period =0.02 s) and also welding currents were increased from 6 kA up to 11 kA by rise of 0.5 kA. The electrode force was kept constant at 4 kN. The prepared welding specimens were exposed to tensile-peel test and the obtained results were supported by diagrams and, finally, appropriate welding current and time were advised to the users.

Opis:
The following paper analyses selected problems regarding the impact of technological parameters and the type of adherend material on the strength of adhesive-bonded steel sheet joints. The subject of the test was a single-lap adhesive joint of S235JR steel sheet. Joints were formed on two types of substrates: with or without corrosion products on the surface. The surface of steel sheet adherends was pre-treated with three cleaning solutions: acetone, Wiko industrial degreasing agent and Cortanin F anti-corrosion agent, depending on the state of the surface. Adhesive joints were formed with Epidian 53/ET/100:15 epoxy adhesive. The formed joints were subjected to one of three ageing variants: 14 days, two months and 3 months, which were followed by destructive testing to determine the shear strength of joints. The analysis of results obtained in the tests indicates that the strength performance of adhesive joints of corrosion-free adherends was characterised by higher values than in corroded steel sheets, regardless of ageing time.

Opis:
The Goss texture is a characteristic feature of grain-oriented transformer steel sheets. Generator sheets, which are produced as non-oriented steel sheets, should have isotropic features. However, measurement results of generator sheets, confirmed by crystallographic studies, indicate that these sheets are characterized by certain, quite significant anisotropy. The first purpose of this paper is to present the influence of textures of generator and transformer steel sheets on their magnetization characteristics. The second aim is to propose a method which takes into account the sheet textures in the calculations of magnetization curves. In calculations of magnetization processes in electrical steel sheets, models in which the plane of a sheet sample is divided into an assumed number of specified directions are used. To each direction a certain hysteresis loop, the so-called direction hysteresis, is assigned. The parameters of these direction hystereses depend, among other things, on the texture type in these steel sheets. This paper discusses the method which calculates the parameters of these direction hystereses taking into account the given sheet texture. The proposed method gives a possibility of determining the magnetization characteristics for any direction of the field intensity changes.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to study the variation of the magnetic properties of non-oriented electrical steel sheets with the fatigue state during cyclic mechanical loading. The obtained results are central to the design of variable drives such as traction drives in electric vehicles in which varying mechanical loads, e.g. in the rotor core (centrifugal forces), alter the magnetic properties. Specimens of non-oriented electrical steel are subject to a cyclically varying mechanical tensile stress with different stress amplitudes and number of cycles. The specimens are characterised magnetically at different fatigue states for different magnetic flux densities and magnetising frequencies. The measurements show a variation in magnetic properties depending on the number of cycles and stress magnitude which can be explained by changes in the material structure due to a beginning mechanical fatigue process. The studied effect is critical for the estimation of the impact of mechanical material fatigue on the operational behaviour of electrical machines. Particularly in electrical machines with a higher speed where the rotor is stressed by high centrifugal forces, material fatigue occurs and can lead to deterioration of the rotor’s stack lamination.

Opis:
Nowadays, there are several reasons for the utilization of the sheets made of aluminum in the car body production. Besides decreasing the car body weight, there is a need to reduce fuel consumption of the vehicle as well as the environmental impact by lower production of emissions. Moreover, such reasons are mutually dependent or influence each other. The application of the aluminum sheets in hybrid car body production resulted in the need for innovative joining techniques, which could make it possible to successfully join sheets from aluminum alloys. Mechanical clinching is one of the new or innovative joining techniques, which belongs to cold-forming joining process, which makes it possible to join different kinds and thicknesses of sheets. Individual materials and thicknesses can be combined. The mechanically clinched joints are durable, and the joining process duration is very fast (duration of 1s) and does not have a distinctive impact on the environment; a protective layer of the sheets remains intact. The paper focuses on the evaluation of the properties of hybrid joints that were prepared by the single stroke clinching process with a rigid die. The hot-dip galvanized steel sheets DC06 and H220PD combined with the sheets from aluminum alloys EN AW 5754 (having different values of the hardness – H11, H22, and H24) and EN AW 6082 were used for joining. The results from experiments confirmed the mechanical clinching is the suitable technique for joining such combination of sheets. However, some considerations, such as the arrangement of the sheets about the punch and die, must be regarded.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of a study of the tribological characteristics of Fe-Zn coated steel sheets. Experimental research was done using coatings with different alloying – under alloyed, optimal and slightly pre-alloyed. The alloying level was evaluated by phase composition and the percentage of Fe in the coating. Tribological properties such as surface microgeometry, abrasion, and friction coefficient were analysed. The experimental results of strip drawn test were used for the verification of numerical simulation. Based on numerical simulation results, characteristics has been determined.
Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań charakterystyk tribologicznych blach stalowych z powłokami Fe-Zn. Badania eksperymentalne zostały wykonane dla powłok o różnym składzie stopu – z niską zawartością żelaza, o składzie optymalnym i z powłoką wstępną.
