Opis:
This paper presents a concept of an Integrated System of Supporting Information Management in Passenger Traffic (ISSIMPT). The novelty of the system is an integration of six modules: video monitoring, counting passenger flows, dynamic information for passengers, the central processing unit, surveillance center and vehicle diagnostics into one coherent solution. Basing on expert evaluations, we propose to present configuration design problem of the system as a multi-objectives discrete static optimization problem. Then, hybrid method joining properties of weighted sum and ε-constraint methods is applied to solve the problem. Solution selections based on hybrid method, using set of exemplary cases, are shown.

Opis:
The essence of the article is the use of multi-criteria static optimization of object motion, based on a set of optimal Pareto points in the space of possible variants of solutions for a new approach to the problem as a game control. Using the example of the two-criteria optimization of the final payoff of the object game control during the safe evasion of the encountered objects, six methods of multi-criteria static optimization are presented—Bentham's utilitarian rule, Rawls's principle of justice, Salukvadze's benchmark, Benson's weighted sums, Haimes's constraints, and goal-oriented programming. In the end, the results obtained by the two-criteria optimization are compared with regard to the values of the components of the final game payoff—the risk of collision and the deviation of the object from the safe route of the set trajectory of movement. The directions for the development of multi-criteria optimization methods, both static and dynamic, and the game are indicated.

Opis:
The temporomandibular (TM) joint is one of the most active joints in the human body, and any defect in this joint has a significant impact on the quality of life. The objective of this study was to analyze changes in the force ratio after TM joint replacement on contralateral TM joint loading. Implantation of an artificial TM joint often requires removal of 3 of the 4 masticatory muscles (activators). In order to perform true loading of the TM joint, loading during mastication was investigated. Input kinematic variables and mastication force were experimentally examined. The inverse dynamics approach and static optimization technique were used for solution of the redundant mechanism. Muscle forces, and reactions in the TM joint were calculated. We modified the model for several different tasks. The m. temporalis and m. masseter were removed individually and together and the forces of mastication on the TM joint were calculated for each variation. To evaluate the results, a parametric numerical FE analysis was created to compare the magnitude of the TM joint loading during the bite process for four different muscle resections. The results show an influence relative to the extent of muscle resection on contralateral TM joint loading in a total TM joint replacement. The biggest increase in the loading magnitude on the contralateral TM joint is most evident after m. masseter and m. temporalis resection. The results from all simulations support our hypothesis that the greater the extent of muscle resection the greater the magnitude of contralateral TM joint overloading.

Opis:
With the rapid growth in new energy vehicle industry, more and more new energy vehicle battery packs catch fire or even explode due to the internal short circuit. Comparing with traditional vehicles, the new energy vehicles industry should pay more attention to safety of power battery pack structures. The battery pack is an important barrier to protect the internal batteries. A battery pack structure model is imported into ANSYS for structural optimization under sharp acceleration, sharp turn and sharp deceleration turn conditions on the bumpy road. Based on the simulation, the battery pack structure is improved, and suitable materials are determined. Then the collision resistance of the optimized battery pack is verified, and the safety level is greatly improved. While ensuring the safety and reliability of the battery pack structure, it also reduces the weight to satisfy the lightweight design and complies with relevant technical standards.

Opis:
Today, Parallel Kinematic Machines tools (PKMs) appear in automotive and aeronautic industries. These machines allow a benefit of productivity due to their higher kinematics performances than Serial Kinematic Machines tools (SKMs). However, their machining accuracy is lower. Moreover, the compensation of the defects which penalizes the machined parts quality is difficult due to their anisotropic behaviour. Thus, this article deals with the development of methods improving the machined parts quality and the productivity. In order to improve parts quality, the static behaviour of the machine structure is considered with a model taking into account joints and legs compliances. Then, it allows determining a static workspace. About the productivity, the improvement of kinematics performances is performed through an optimization work of the non productive tool path between cutting operations. The computed tool path must verify a minimum time constraint and avoid collisions between the tool and the machined part. All the methods are illustrated with the PKM Tripteor X7 developed by PCI.

Opis:
In this study, stacking sequence optimization of composite beams with different layer thicknesses is investigated for various boundary conditions. A unified shear deformation theory is used for analytical solution. The optimization process is carried out in order to obtain the minimum deflection parameters for Clamped-Free (C-F), Clamped-Clamped (C-C) and simply supported (S-S) boundary conditions under a uniform distributed load by use of genetic algorithm for a specific number of population and generation. Finally, among all possible combinations of layer thicknesses, the one giving the minimum deflection parameter and corresponding stacking sequence is chosen. The minimum values and corresponding stacking sequences are presented for different boundary conditions.

Opis:
This study aims to optimize the 2-cylinder in-line reciprocating compressor crankshaft. As the crankshaft is considered the "bulkiest" component of the reciprocating compressor, its weight reduction is the focus of current research for improved performance and lower cost. Therefore, achieving a lightweight crankshaft without compromising the mechanical properties is the core objective of this study. Computational analysis for the crankshaft design optimization was performed in the following steps: kinematic analysis, static analysis, fatigue analysis, topology analysis, and dynamic modal analysis. Material retention by employing topology optimization resulted in a significant amount of weight reduction. A weight reduction of approximately 13% of the original crankshaft was achieved. At the same time, design optimization results demonstrate improvement in the mechanical properties due to better stress concentration and distribution on the crankshaft. In addition, material retention would also contribute to the material cost reduction of the crankshaft. The exact 3D model of the optimized crankshaft with complete design features is the main outcome of this research. The optimization and stress analysis methodology developed in this study can be used in broader fields such as reciprocating compressors/engines, structures, piping, and aerospace industries.
