Opis:: Awareness of GLOBAL G.A.P. standards is the bedrock for the growth of export horticulture as it provides livelihoods to many small-scale farmers in developing countries. However, non-compliance with food safety requirements has evoked questions about farmers’ levels of awareness. Previous studies have overlooked the awareness-seeking behavior of smallholder farmers with diverse social characteristics. Therefore, this study was conducted in Murang’a County in Kenya to investigate the influence of social characteristics on awareness-exposure behavior among smallholder French bean farmers. The study systematically selected 115 small-scale French bean farmers. Questionnaires were administered through face-to-face interviews to elicit the data. Quantitative data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics by employing Pearson’s correlation and the Chi-square test. The study found that farmers differed in their awareness of different components that constitute GLOBAL G.A.P. Gender, farmer’s position in household, occupation, and wealth status were among the social inequalities that had a significant influence on the awareness of GLOBAL G.A.P. standards. In addition, farmer’s participation in awareness forums and affiliation with multiple sources of information on GLOBAL food safety standards had a significant influence on their level of awareness. This study recommends that proponents of farming innovations should always consider the socioeconomic status of potential adopters.

Opis:: The article describes research whose aim was to find differences between the social intelligence structure of gifted children and children with no diagnosed giftedness. The social intelligence was determined by TSIS scale enabling its specification into three parts. Social Information Processing and Social Awareness give evidence about the cognitive aspect and Social Skills about the behavioral aspect of social intelligence. There were no statistically significant differences between gifted children and children with no diagnosed giftedness in Social Information Processing. We registered a higher level of Social Awareness and Social Skills in children with no diagnosed giftedness. The results are discussed due to the theoretical background of this study.

Opis:: A complex system of social and educational inclusion needs competent analysis to make it possible proper management and comprehensive improvement. To analyze one of the actual facets of such a system, namely, its ICT support, it is necessary to take into account the various needs of socially vulnerable people. A set of guidance to web accessibility is a convenient instrument, that provides various approaches in designing goods and technologies. Among other, such guidance helps to design websites with no access barriers, which is extremely important for people with special needs. To analyze the websites and different online resources, which might be of interest to a person with special needs during the social and educational inclusion, a list of characteristics was developed. It must be taken into account the classification and the structure of information materials, website`s structure, design, etc. The unification of the ICT for people, involved in educational and social inclusion, will improve informational and technological support of such process.

Opis:: This paper emphasizes the importance of proper management of employees’ characteristics through their obtained education i.e. their educational attainment, on the development and application of knowledge management, and therefore on the productivity and competitiveness of the business. The study focuses on whether and to what extent human resources through socio-demographic characteristics have a decisive role in the successful implementation of the knowledge management program in textile enterprises in Serbia, as well as which segments i.e. dimensions, can be affected. Research goals are directed towards determining the impact of the educational attainment of respondents (independent variable) on the dimensions of knowledge management (dependent variable). The sample of respondents consisted of N = 336 employees from 83 textile companies in Serbia. Significant results were seen in the dimensions of the organisational culture (0.050), the process of knowledge acquisition (0.013) and competitive advantage (0.021). Adequate selection of human resources can influence the above-mentioned organisational units in the enterprise. Investment in both the intellectual capital of human resources and in all technological processes and resources at all levels would allow knowledge management to be fully implemented in enterprises and to improve the textile industry in Serbia.
W artykule podkreślono znaczenie prawidłowego zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi na wzrost wydajności i konkurencyjności biznesu. W pracy skoncentrowano się głównie na tym, czy i w jakim stopniu pracownicy dzięki cechom społeczno-demograficznym mają decydującą rolę w pomyślnym wdrażaniu programu zarządzania wiedzą w przedsiębiorstwach włókienniczych na terenie Serbii. Celem badawczym było określenie wpływu wykształcenia respondentów (niezależnej zmiennej) na wymiary zarządzania wiedzą (zmienna zależna). Próbka respondentów składała się z 336 pracowników z 83 serbskich firm tekstylnych. Znaczące wyniki odnotowano w wymiarze kultury organizacyjnej, procesie zdobywania wiedzy i przewagi konkurencyjnej. Odpowiedni dobór kadry pracowniczej może wpływać na wyżej wspomniane jednostki organizacyjne w przedsiębiorstwie. Inwestycje zarówno w kapitał intelektualny pracowników, jak i we wszystkie procesy technologiczne umożliwiają pełne wdrożenie zarządzania wiedzą w przedsiębiorstwach oraz poprawę sytuacji przemysłu tekstylnego w Serbii.

Opis:: The presented study addresses the issue of the concept of lifelong learning based on Polish experience, on the basis of the latest research: the international programme: Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (Study on an international scale, realised for the first time in Poland on a sample of more than 9 thousand people) and Polish reports: Report on the State of Education 2013-Teachers Matter, and Social Diagnosis 2013-the Labour Market and Social Exclusion in the Context of the Perception of Poles. The presented study and the authors’ considerations revolve around the concepts of: learning, schooling, undertaking educational activity by adults, which, as clearly indicated by the research results, constitutes an insignificant part of Polish society. This situation puts our country on one of the last places in the ranking of highly developed countries.
