    Opis:
    Each well designed project, related to digital modelling for the needs of assessment of conditions of an engineering structure, contains comparison of results of numerical calculations with results of surveying, Usually, results of levelling, which determine differences of elevation of controlled points of the structure, are the subject of such comparison. Results of measurements of a horizontal network may be presented in a similar way. In the course of comparison, functional, structural and accuracy differences of digital models, as well as models based on results of surveying monitorine should be also considered. Comparison of modelling results with results of surveys may be performed for various purposes. Besides the diagnosis of current conditions of the structure, emergency or non-standard situations, such comparison may be performed for specific demands of geodetic services, and, in particular, the needs of modernisation of the geodetic control oetwork or in the process of the initial control of surveys. Such comparison may be performed in order to asses the digital model, developed basing on archive geological reconnaissance and/or verification of values of parameters of materials. The paper discusses the demands of verification of digital analysis by means of back analysis, as well as possibilities to utilise the results of geodetic monitoring for the needs of calculations. It should be noticed that the geodetic control network should be consulted with designers of the particular structure and with the entity which performed numerical analyses. Those issues are illustrated by means of the example of development of the control network and the numerical model for a building, which is jocated in the densely built-up area, within the direct neighbourhood of the Warsaw underground.

    The paper presents results of square shaped test network analysis by using Delft method. Reactions of mathematical and stochastic models were analyzed by introducing displaced observation points within tested network. An essential purpose of the work is to present practical results of geodetic network reliability testing based on example of a network measured with GPS receivers. Since there are no clear rules guiding assumptions of a significance level for statistical tests, the paper presents the effect of the mentioned parameter on calculation results. The analyzed example relates also to the effect of purposely introduced observation point displacements on a final calculation product, or adjusted coordinates.
    W pracy przedstawiono wyniki analizy sieci testowej w kształcie kwadratu metodą Delft. Wprowadzając zaburzenia w obserwacje sieci testowej, analizowano reakcję modelu matematycznego i stochastycznego. Zasadniczym celem pracy jest podanie praktycznej interpretacji wyników badania niezawodności sieci geodezyjnych na przykładzie sieci pomierzonej odbiornikami GPS. Ze względu na brak ścisłych reguł przyjmowania poziomu istotności dla testów statystycznych przedstawiono wpływ wartości tego parametru na wyniki obliczeń. W analizowanym przykładzie podany został również wpływ celowo wprowadzanych zaburzeń w obserwacjach na produkt finalny obliczeń, czyli współrzędne wyrównane.

    Opis:
    The study presents a unified algorithm of determining the coexistence levels in any system of linear equations. The coesistence levels can be determined both for the system unknowns (or groups of) as well as for functions binding those unknowns (equations or their groups). Because we deal with systems of linear equations also in geodetic networks, the presented algorithm allows the determination of coexistence levels of network points or observations made within that network. Due to the possibility of grouping of unknowns and equations in the algorithm, there are no limitations of space for the geodetic network. The functioning of the presented algorithm has been iIlustrated by the example of a linear, horizontal geodetic network. Exemplary tasks have also been shown, in which the coexistence levels can be helpful.

    Opis:
    An optimally designed geodetic network is characterised by an appropriate level of precision and the lowest possible setup cost. Reliability, translating into the ability to detect blunders in the observations and higher certainty of the obtained point positions, is an important network characteristic. The principal way to provide appropriate network reliability is to acquire a suitably large number of redundant observations. This approach, however, faces limitations resulting from the extra cost. This paper analyses the possibility of providing appropriate reliability parameters for networks with moderate redundancy. A common problem in such cases are dependencies between observations preventing the acquisition of the required reliability index for each of the individual observation. The authors propose a methodology to analyse dependencies between observations aiming to determine the possibility of acquiring the optimal reliability indices for each individual observation or groups of observations. The suggested network structure analysis procedures were illustrated with numerical examples.

    The article attempts to describe the progress of deformation of the surface of the Legnica-Głogów Copper Mining Area in the years 1967-2008. The state of deformation has been described with kinematical models of the displacement of points representing the area under research. It has been analysed whether there are possibilities of using a counter-propagation algorithm for estimating displacements of selected points for which an assumption has been made that during the research they were damaged or destroyed. The numerical procedures of the estimation of parameters of displacement models were carried out by means of traditional optimisation methods and neural networks.
    W treści artykułu podjęto próbę opisu przebiegu deformacji powierzchni terenu obszaru Legnicko – Głogowskiego Okręgu Miedziowego w latach 1967 – 2008. Stan deformacji został opisany modelami kinematycznymi przemieszczeń punktów reprezentujących badany obszar. Przeprowadzono rozważania dotyczące możliwości wykorzystania algorytmu kontrpropagacji do oszacowania przemieszczeń wybranych punktów, dla których przyjęto założenie, że w trakcie prowadzonych badań punkty zostały uszkodzone bądź zniszczone. Procedury numeryczne estymacji parametrów modeli przemieszczeń realizowano za pomocą tradycyjnych metod optymalizacji i sieci neuronowych.

    The paper features the method of creating a computer application (assuming intermediate programming skills) that shall perform geodetic computations. Computation of a levelling net is used as an example. The levelling nets are the most often analysed ones by small geodetic companies. A special program shall be used in order to perform computations. It is shown how the application shall be created so that individual requirements are fulfilled, in particular the control and presentation of the computation results.
    W pracy pokazano sposób tworzenia (przy średnim zaawansowaniu umiejętności programistycznych) aplikacji komputerowej, której zadaniem jest wykonywanie obliczeń geodezyjnych (oparto się na przykładzie obliczenia sieci niwelacyjnej). Sieci takie są najczęściej mierzone przez małe firmy geodezyjne. Wykonanie obliczeń wymaga odpowiedniego programu. Pokazany jest sposób wykonania aplikacji, która pozwoli na zaspokojenie indywidualnych potrzeb użytkownika, w szczególności umożliwi kontrolę i prezentację wyników obliczeń.

    Opis:
    Land surveyors, photogrammetrists, remote sensing engineers and professionals in the Earth sciences are often faced with the task of transferring coordinates from one geodetic datum into another to serve their desired purpose. The essence is to create compatibility between data related to different geodetic reference frames for geospatial applications. Strictly speaking, conventional techniques of conformal, affine and projective transformation models are mostly used to accomplish such task. With developing countries like Ghana where there is no immediate plans to establish geocentric datum and still rely on the astro-geodetic datums as it national mapping reference surface, there is the urgent need to explore the suitability of other transformation methods. In this study, an effort has been made to explore the proficiency of the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) as a novel alternative coordinate transformation method. The proposed ELM approach was applied to data found in the Ghana geodetic reference network. The ELM transformation result has been analysed and compared with benchmark methods of backpropagation neural network (BPNN), radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), two-dimensional (2D) affine and 2D conformal. The overall study results indicate that the ELM can produce comparable transformation results to the widely used BPNN and RBFNN, but better than the 2D affine and 2D conformal. The results produced by ELM has demonstrated it as a promising tool for coordinate transformation in Ghana.

    Opis:
    This paper is of review kind. On the basis of internet sources, accessibility and possibilities of software to surveying computations with special attention to free software. It has also been presented analysis of possibility of such software, especially from the point of view accessible functions, useful for surveyor’s environment. Application of analysed programmes depends on size and specialty of surveying enterprise. It is also essential a region where surveying enterprise is located. Yet, the most important factor influencing on universality of programme is its price. Non commercial programmes almost don’t exist and these which are on the market have limited possibilities. Usually they are single product, being often results of students diploma projects. Usually they are not entirely free of charge, since they force using the other, commercial payable software or hardware of a definite firm. One can generally say, that there is lack of significant non commercial programme, serving for surveying computations in Poland, belonging to free and open software. Thus, one can assume, that good, friendly in use and possible versatile but comprises fundamental range of surveying computation programme, would win many users.
    Publikacja ma charakter przeglądowy. Na podstawie źródeł, głównie internetowych, przedstawiono możliwości i dostępność oprogramowania do wykonywania obliczeń geodezyjnych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wolnego oprogramowania. Przeprowadzono także analizę możliwości tego oprogramowania w szczególności pod względem dostępnych funkcji przydatnych dla geodetów. Wykorzystywanie analizowanych programów jest zależne od wielkości i specjalizacji firmy geodezyjnej. Istotny jest też region, w którym działa firma geodezyjna, ale najbardziej o powszechności wykorzystania decyduje cena programu. Programy niekomercyjne prawie nie występują na rynku, a te, które są, mają ograniczone możliwości obliczeniowe (często są jednorazowym produktem, pochodną studenckich prac licencjackich lub magisterskich). Nie zawsze są całkiem bezpłatne, bo wymuszają korzystanie z innych komercyjnych programów albo sprzętu określonej firmy. Generalnie można stwierdzić, że brak jest niekomercyjnego programu do obliczeń geodezyjnych w Polsce, należącego do grupy wolnego i otwartego oprogramowania. Dlatego można przypuszczać, że dobry, przyjazny w obsłudze i możliwie wszechstronny, ale obejmujący podstawowy zakres obliczeń geodezyjnych, program miałby wielu użytkowników.

    The paper features the method of creating a computer application (assuming intermediate programming skills) that shall perform geodetic computations. Computation of a leveling net is used as an example, as being the most often analyzed by small geodetic companies. In order to perform computations of this kind a proper program is required. The paper shows a way to create a spreadsheet based application providing the particular requirements fulfillment, especially controlling and displaying the computation results.
    W pracy pokazano sposób tworzenia (przy średnim zaawansowaniu umiejętności programistycznych) aplikacji komputerowej, której zadaniem jest prowadzenie obliczeń geodezyjnych (oparto się na przykładzie obliczenia sieci kątowo-liniowej). Sieci takie są często mierzone przez małe firmy geodezyjne. Obliczenia wymagają odpowiedniego programu. Pokazano sposób realizacji aplikacji opartej na arkuszu kalkulacyjnym, która pozwoli na zaspokojenie indywidualnych potrzeb, w szczególności kontroli i prezentacji wyników obliczeń.
