Opis:
In this paper, the adaptive control based on symbolic solution of Diophantine equation is used to suppress circular plate vibrations. It is assumed that the system to be regulated is unknown. The plate is excited by a uniform force over the bottom surface generated by a loudspeaker. The axially-symmetrical vibrations of the plate are measured by the application of the strain sensors located along the plate radius, and two centrally placed piezoceramic discs are used to cancel the plate vibrations. The adaptive control scheme presented in this work has the ability to calculate the error sensor signals, to compute the control effort and to apply it to the actuator within one sampling period. For precise identification of system model the regularized RLS algorithm has been applied. Self-tuning controller of RST type, derived for the assumed system model of the 4th order is used to suppress the plate vibration. Some numerical examples illustrating the improvement gained by incorporating adaptive control are demonstrated.

Opis:
A recursive self-tuning control scheme for finite Markov chains is proposed wherein the unknown parameter is estimated by a stochastic approximation scheme for maximizing the log-likelihood function and the control is obtained via a relative value iteration algorithm. The analysis uses the asymptotic o.d.e.s associated with these.

Opis:
The handling of various input constraints in the self-tuning generalized predictive control (STGPC) problem of ARIMAX/ARMAX systems is considered. The methods based on the Lagrange multipliers and Lemke's algorithm are used to solve the constrained optimization problem. A self-tuning controller is implemented in an indirect way, and the considered constraints imposed on the control input signal are of the rate, amplitude and energy types. A comparative simulation study of self-tuning control system behaviour is given with respect to the design parameters and constraints. The stability of a closed-loop control system is analyzed and the computational loads of both the methods are compared.

pH control

cheese whey
Opis:
pH control has received considerable attention in preparation of cheese whey drink, by fermentation with kefir yeast, because of its critical role in quality assurance. To improve the rheological and sensory properties of this drink, milk and grape juice are added to the bioprocess medium. Cheese whey drink was produced from the pasteurized mixture, which contains cheese whey, glucose, grape juice and milk. The fermentation of this mixture with kefir yeast in a batch bioreactor was investigated. The pH was monitored during the production of cheese whey drink. Experiments show that kefir yeast is very resistant to contamination. A self-tuning proportional-integral-derivative control was applied to the bioprocess. The software of controller was developed by using the autoregressive moving average exogenous model. The model parameters were evaluated from input-output data by using a pseudo random binary sequence. The experimental results illustrate that the controller can maintain the pH at the desired value. It is noted that the self-tuning proportional-integral-derivative pH control results with the best controller tuning parameters and provides very good results, compared to initially adjusted case, without control. The best tuning parameters were found as t₁=0.1, t₂=0, t₃=0, by comparing experimental application results.
