Opis:
This article presents the results of experimental studies pertaining to the suckling improvement of secondary clarifier in an aeration station in Almaty. According to the obtained research results, the work of secondary clarifiers was evaluated for the removal of suspended solids, concentration of returned sludge and sediment moisture. The technical specifications of aerations, secondary settling tanks and cesspool emptier in the aeration station of Almaty were defined. Additionally, it was shown that the use of the articulated sucker with movable scrapers can increase the efficiency of cleaning the bottom of the circular tanks. In this practical test, the proposed suckling radial settler in aeration station of Almaty during the year showed that the sucker reduces the costs for the installation and maintenance of cesspool emptier and has no damaging effects on the bottom of the sump.

Opis:
When taking water from pre-mountain rivers, for transferring of large amounts of river sediments, rich in mineral fertilizers, along with water to crop fields through irrigation networks requires high sediment transport capacity and deformation resistance from irrigation networks. The projecting and construction of irrigation canals with these features in the foothills requires concreting the canal. The high content of river sediments in the Sokh River (5 kg∙m-3) and the low efficiency of the Right Bank Irrigation Reservoir (10-15%) require high hydraulic efficiency of water intake canals from this system. The main challenge is to reduce costs in concreted canals and ultimately ensure technical superiority. In the research were used generally accepted research methods in hydraulics, in particular field research and consequently, mathematical analysis. Kokandsay, Kartan and Bachkir irrigation canals were accepted as the object of research, the canals were designed on the basis of the best hydraulic section, the canal side slope was taken as a variable parameter and the technical and economic efficiency was checked using computer software. As a result, it was found that the consumption of concrete raw material for 1 running meter can save 0.2-0.3 m3, depending on the adoption of the canal side slope, the acceptance of the slope of the canal wall at values 1-1.5 will increase up to sedimentation 10%.

Opis:
The paper outlines a method to determine the sedimentation efficiency in modernized tanks with incorporated lamella packets. The method takes into account the properties of the suspension (density, viscosity, solid phase distribution and tank design parameters - flow intensity and settling surface). Several types of grain size distributions are considered: the log-normal distribution and generalised gamma distribution. The sedimentation efficiency is investigated in relation to the ratio of tank filling with lamella packets. The lamella ring width in a round Dorr clarifier is taken as an example. The analysis is performed by way of computer simulations. The applied calculation procedure was extensively verified in laboratory tests, pilot tests and industrial-scale tests (Kowalski 2000) and the obtained results were regarded as satisfactory. The error involved in calculations of the sedimentation efficiency is less than 0.05 when the efficiency value exceeds 0.8.
