    Software solutions are nowadays commonly used in business. More and more transactions are conducted on-line as well as more and more critical information is being kept on local or remote servers in huge databases. The purpose of presented paper is to analyze and propose the solutions used for the security of sensitive personal data and access to such data provided by the platform chosen for research with respect to the real-life needs of the developers and end-users. The main focus are put on the solutions provided by the .NET platform which next to Java is one of the most commonly used programming environments for both web page and desktop applications.

    Opis:
    An emergency situation often occurs as a result of unpredictable events, and as a consequence, existing communications may either get collapsed or congested. The aim of the Communication Security Monitoring and Control Centre (CSMCC) solution proposed in SECRICOM is to provide a suitable security framework that enables the development of security service. These services give response to individuals and institutions operating in heterogeneous communication infrastructures, when responding to major incidents. In the light of this objective, a Security Model has been designed facilitating the measurement of operators' and end customers' confidence in the security of the communication infrastructure, and addressing security challenges in terms of a distributed and heterogeneous solution. The proposed Security Model has been supported by the Security Middleware Service and Framework, which is responsible for measuring, documenting and maintaining the security level of the services provided by the SECRICOM communication system.
    Sytuacje kryzysowe występują zazwyczaj w wyniku nieprzewidzianych wydarzeń, co implikuje problemy z niedostępnością lub przeciążeniem systemu łączności. Zadaniem zaproponowanego w ramach projektu SECRICOM rozwiązania Communication Security Monitoring and Control Centre (CSMCC) jest bezpieczeństwo usług z nim związanych. Usługi te są kierowane do podmiotów obsługujących różnorodne infrastruktury telekomunikacyjne na potrzeby zarządzania kryzysowego. W tym celu opracowano model bezpieczeństwa ułatwiający pomiar bezpieczeństwa infrastruktury komunikacyjnej oraz wspierający rozwiązywanie problemów wynikających z heterogenicznych i rozproszonych rozwiązań. Zaproponowany model jest wspierany przez rozwiązanie Security Middleware Service and Framework, który jest odpowiedzialny za mierzenie, dokumentację oraz utrzymanie poziomu bezpieczeństwa usług oferowanych przez system SECRICOM.

    The main currents of research on ambidexterity in the context of organisational security with emphasis on the role of network links are indicated. The hypothesis that ambidexterity, using governance mechanisms, can support the functioning of an organisation in both strategic and operational perspectives in the face of unexpected extreme turbulence in the environment related to the environmental factor is substantiated. This implies, on the one hand, the need to prepare a strategy of resistance and resilience and, on the other hand, a readiness for ad hoc behaviour. Ambidexterity was considered in the context of cooperation with partners, with a view to accessing certain own and partners’ resources in a crisis situation. In an ecological context, the influence of ambidexterity on the continuous improvement of the organisation’s performance was discussed, paying attention to the simultaneous efforts for radical change based on innovative actions, starting from the assumption of sustainability, in cooperation with stakeholders. A review of the concept of ambidexterity in relation to the issue of organisational security was conducted based on a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. A research gap related to this area was identified. The aim of the study was to identify opportunities for the use of ambidexterity in organisations in emergency situations.

    Opis:
    The paper is devoted to an analysis of the institutional mechanisms that ensure national security in the information space of several leading countries – the United States, the United Kingdom and the Russian Federation. It is stated that institutional mechanisms that ensure national security in the information space of the leading countries all have a similar structure. The main components of these mechanisms involve public authorities (state leaders – president or prime minister, government, ministries, and agencies), local government bodies, civil society institutions, the academic community, business community, and the media. The gradual expansion of the system of institutions that ensure national security in the information space and increase in their powers occurs in all these states. The analysis also demonstrates the paradigm shifts in the development and implementation of US and UK information policy in the context of modern nonlinear processes. Paradigmatic shifts are currently being reoriented towards the interests and needs of target audiences, diversification of channels and mechanisms of the distribution of meaning (strategic narratives) in the information space, from vertical to horizontal interaction with internal and external audiences. Emphases are shifting to the involvement of a wide range of institutions and other stakeholders in the implementation of information policy and delegation of powers from the center to the periphery, while preserving the main parameters of the policy established by state structures.
    Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie mechanizmów instytucjonalnych zapewniających bezpieczeństwo narodowe w przestrzeni informacyjnej kilku najważniejszych państw świata – Stanów Zjednoczonych, Wielkiej Brytanii i Federacji Rosyjskiej. Stwierdzono, że mechanizmy instytucjonalne zapewniające bezpieczeństwo narodowe w przestrzeni informacyjnej państw będących liderami światowymi mają podobną strukturę. Główne składowe tych mechanizmów obejmują władze publiczne (przywódcy państw – prezydent lub premier, rząd, ministerstwa i agencje), organy samorządu terytorialnego, instytucje społeczeństwa obywatelskiego, środowiska akademickie, biznesowe i media. We wszystkich analizowanych państwach następuje stopniowa rozbudowa systemu instytucji zapewniających bezpieczeństwo narodowe w przestrzeni informacyjnej oraz zwiększanie ich uprawnień. Przeprowadzona analiza ukazuje również zmiany paradygmatu w zakresie tworzenia i wdrażania polityki informacyjnej Stanów Zjednoczonych i Wielkiej Brytanii w kontekście nowoczesnych procesów nieliniowych. Obecne zmiany paradygmatów oznaczają przeorientowanie na interesy i potrzeby odbiorców docelowych, dywersyfikację kanałów i mechanizmów dystrybucji znaczeń (narracje strategiczne) w przestrzeni informacyjnej, od interakcji pionowej do poziomej z odbiorcami wewnętrznymi i zewnętrznymi. Akcent przenosi się na zaangażowanie szerokiego grona instytucji i innych interesariuszy w realizację polityki informacyjnej i delegowanie uprawnień z centrum na peryferie, przy zachowaniu głównych parametrów polityki ustalonych przez struktury państwowe.
