    Opis:
    We describe and discuss the development of scenarios for the Colombian mining industry. The scenarios were developed with a large group of stakeholders from across the Colombian government, society, and commerce, all with interest in and/or affected by the future of the mining sector. The process resulted in the creation of three different scenarios for the Colombian mining sector to 2030. The article describes the participatory process used for involving the stakeholders, including the workshops and the mapping technique that was used. It also outlines the three scenarios and possible policies that should be considered by the Colombian government in order to prepare the sector for the future.

    Opis:
    Formulation of long-term energy strategies and polices is a complex tasks. It needs to consider number of aspects i.a. forecast of energy and fuel demand, possible supply paths, expected impact on environment, as well as public consultation process. There are number of formal methods that aim supporting decision making for the long-term energy planning. They help understanding complexity of problem, finding the best compromise solution and allow public participation. In the following paper methodological concept of combining energy scenarios and multi-criteria analysis (MCA) will be introduced. Energy scenarios are tools that help to explore and understand the future energy system. MCA provides assessment of different policy option in respect to multiple criteria. Moreover it allows public participation in decision making process. Combined method is promising tool for energy planning and decision.

    Sustainable development is a theoretical concept, but the possibility of implementing it depends on skills and practical solutions. One practical solution is interdisciplinary planning. The basic criterion for the success of interdisciplinary planning and improvements in its quality and efficiency is continuous expansion of knowledge related to its role, the methods, tasks and responsibilities involved and experience gained. This can be considered as a necessary step in the further evolution of interdisciplinary planning. Taking these aspects into account, it could be claimed that interdisciplinary has become a principal condition for the existence of good planning. The aim of this article is to indicate the need for new resilience planning techniques relevant to the implementation of sustainable development, which include, among other things, scenario planning. According to the authors, this concept requires a resilient approach to developing future strategies for more dynamic activities in regions attracting a high number of tourists. In the empirical part, a case study is presented. Based on an analysis of the Development Strategy for Tourism in the Wielkopolska Region until 2020, missing elements are identified from the point of view of sustainable development. Despite references to sustainable development, neither resilience planning nor scenario planning were used.

    The scientific study is devoted to the development of conceptual bases, principles and scenario of the modelling of environmental safety in the system of sustainable development. The study considers artificiality, structural instability, quantifiability and duality of environmental safety. Factor and time components of safety determined according to the modified stochastic approach are also disclosed. They interpret the dependence of the environmental competitiveness of the region on the level of environmental hazard (component by component), innovation and investment activity aimed at improving the state of the environment. The authors of the paper argue that safety modelling, in view of institutional transformations (or responses), characterizes the level of response to challenges, taking into account the analysis of environmental safety issues in the system of sustainable development, the state of legal mechanisms, the struggle against threats and risks, etc. In the light of the aforementioned, an econometric model of the period and change in the dependence of the ecological competitiveness of the territory on the level of environmental hazard, innovation and investment activities aimed at improving the state of the environment is developed. The obtained results of the modelling, based on modified stochastic approach using real information that quantitatively reflects the features of such processes, prove a significant influence of genetic factors on competitiveness.

    The paper deals with the prospective development of the Leoš Janaček Airport Ostrava. Three scenario variants have been taken into account concerning the expected growth rate increases for the passenger throughput figures predicted up to the year 2020. The scenario variant developments were subject of modelling based on growth rate averages calculated from the empirical data of the period 1998–2013.
    W artykule przedstawiono perspektywy rozwoju lotniska im. Leoša Janačka w Ostrawie. Uwzględniono trzy scenariusze rozwoju o różnych oczekiwanych stopach wzrostu ilości pasażerów. Warianty scenariuszy były przedmiotem modelowania opartego na średnich stopach wzrostu obliczonych na bazie danych z lat 1998–2013.

    Scenario methods enjoy strong popularity, especially in a situation of changes with discontinuous characteristics. Thanks to their application, we can identify factors of the environment that can have a significant impact on the functioning of companies and regions. The use of scenarios for the analysis of technology development is an expression of openness to changes taking place in the environment. Thanks to them, it is possible to track changes, redefine strategic assumptions, and consider decisions made. This paper presents assumptions of scenario methods and practically uses the environment status scenario method to formulate development scenarios of Intelligent Systems technology in Małopolska.
    Metody scenariuszowe cieszą się niesłabnącą popularnością, zwłaszcza w sytuacji zmian o charakterze cech nieciągłych. Dzięki ich zastosowaniu możemy dokonać identyfikacji czynników otoczenia, które mogą mieć istotny wpływ na funkcjonowanie przedsiębiorstw, regionów. Wykorzystywanie scenariuszy do analizy rozwoju technologii jest wyrazem otwartości na zmiany zachodzące w otoczeniu. Dzięki nim możliwe jest śledzenie zmian, redefiniowanie założeń strategicznych i podejmowanych decyzji. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano założenia metod scenariuszowych oraz praktycznie wykorzystano metodę scenariuszy stanów otoczenia do formułowania scenariuszy rozwoju technologii systemy inteligentne w Małopolsce.

    The Turkish textile and apparel industry is losing ground as a global player. This forces it to make a careful future analysis to determine the road map ahead and to develop appropriate strategies. Since long term success heavily depends on the development and implementation of strategies that best respond to future requirements for achieving objectives, this study aims to develop strategies for the Turkish apparel industry and determine key strategies among them with a procedure that enables users to make a strategy assessment. For this aim, an approach involving scenario development and strategy appraisal is proposed and applied to the Turkish apparel industry. After describing the general framework of the application, main issues and findings are summarised for the industry and companies acting in the field.
    Turecki przemysł tekstylny i odzieżowy traci swoją wiodącą pozycję. Wymusza to staranną analizę przyszłych działań dla określenia kierunku rozwoju i opracowania odpowiednich strategii. Ponieważ długotrwający sukces silnie zależy od rozwoju i wprowadzenia strategii, które najlepiej odpowiadałyby przyszłym wymaganiom dla uzyskania sukcesu w artykule opracowano scenariusze dla przemysłu i dla firm działających w tym przemyśle.
