Opis:
A radio labeling f of G is an assignment of positive integers to the vertices of G satisfying, │f (u) – f (v)│≥ diam(G) + 1 - d (u ,v) ∀ u, v ∈ V (G) where d (u ,v) is the distance between any two vertices in the graph. The radio number denoted by rn (G) is the minimum span of a radio labeling for G. In this paper, an alternate proof for radio number of cycles and exact radio number for their total graphs has been discussed.

Opis:
Home broadband access is continuously demanding more bandwidth fueled by video streaming, entertainment and gaming applications. In 2010, a company INEA decided to roll-out new WiMAX-based services aimed to meet the needs of home users across theWielkopolska region of western Poland. It was decided to follow the 802.16e standard and the Time Division Duplexing (TDD) mode that oer the ability to adjust the downlink/uplink ratio and thus are well suited for data transmission. After an extensive testing period of equipment from various vendors, engineers at INEA have chosen the Motorola (currently Cambium Networks) PMP320 solution because it is compact and its components are space- and energy-ecient. The company choice was also influenced by its simple operation, management and installation, which ensured low costs of ownership. So far, this deployment has provided fast and aordable connectivity for Internet and telephony services to around 5,500 households across the 30,000 sq. km region. After 3 years of experience, INEA would like to share the lessons learned from this roll-out.

Opis:
A radio labeling is an assignment c:V(G) → N such that every distinct pair of vertices u,v satisfies the inequality d(u,v) + |c(u)-c(v)| ≥ diam(G) + 1. The span of a radio labeling is the maximum value. The radio number of G, rn(G), is the minimum span over all radio labelings of G. Generalized prism graphs, denoted $Z_{n,s}$, s ≥ 1, n ≥ s, have vertex set {(i,j) | i = 1,2 and j = 1,...,n} and edge set {((i,j),(i,j ±1))} ∪ {((1,i),(2,i+σ)) | σ = -⌊(s-1)/2⌋...,0,...,⌊s/2⌋}. In this paper we determine the radio number of $Z_{n,s}$ for s = 1,2 and 3. In the process we develop techniques that are likely to be of use in determining radio numbers of other families of graphs.

At first glance, radio may seem to be an example of dated technology, overturned by other, more contemporary media. However, the beginning of the 21st century brought an upsurge of radio-related artworks alongside an increased theoretical interest around the broader topic of sound in culture – in response to W. J. T Mitchell’s ‘pictorial turn,’ the ‘sonic turn’ was introduced in 2004 by Jim Drobnick. In this article, I specifically focus on radio as a tool used in visual arts on the example of works by artistic/curatorial collective Radio Earth Hold, observed through the lens of ‘transmission arts’ – a term coined at the end of the 1990s, which recognizes the issue of transmission as political at its core. REH’s works render apparent the potential of the radio voice to become authoritarian as well as to create an intimate experience of listening. By building upon the idea of ‘sonic solidarity’ REH touches upon political topics in a way that can profoundly challenge our thinking and encourage us to reexamine not only the role of radio but also the transmission and communication in or via art – which perhaps could be understood as a way towards the possible sonic turn.

For a connected graph G of diameter d and an integer k with 1 ≤ k ≤ d, a radio k-coloring of G is an assignment c of colors (positive integers) to the vertices of G such that
d(u,v) + |c(u)- c(v)| ≥ 1 + k
for every two distinct vertices u and v of G, where d(u,v) is the distance between u and v. The value rcₖ(c) of a radio k-coloring c of G is the maximum color assigned to a vertex of G. The radio k-chromatic number rcₖ(G) of G is the minimum value of rcₖ(c) taken over all radio k-colorings c of G. In this paper, radio k-colorings of paths are studied. For the path Pₙ of order n ≥ 9 and n odd, a new improved bound for $rc_{n- 2}(Pₙ)$ is presented. For n ≥ 4, it is shown that
$rc_{n-3}(Pₙ) ≤ \binom{n-2} {2}$
Upper and lower bounds are also presented for rcₖ(Pₙ) in terms of k when 1 ≤ k ≤ n- 1. The upper bound is shown to be sharp when 1 ≤ k ≤ 4 and n is sufficiently large.

Opis:
For $ k \in \mathbb{Z}_+ $ and $G$ a simple, connected graph, a $k$-radio labeling $ f : V (G) \rightarrow \mathbb{Z}_+ $ of $G$ requires all pairs of distinct vertices $u$ and $v$ to satisfy $ |f(u) − f(v)| \ge k + 1 − d(u, v) $. We consider $k$-radio labelings of $G$ when $ k = \text{diam} (G)$. In this setting, $f$ is injective; if $f$ is also surjective onto $ {1, 2, . . ., |V (G)|} $, then $f$ is a consecutive radio labeling. Graphs that can be labeled with such a labeling are called radio graceful. In this paper, we give two results on the existence of radio graceful Hamming graphs. The main result shows that the Cartesian product of $t$ copies of a complete graph is radio graceful for certain $t$. Graphs of this form provide infinitely many examples of radio graceful graphs of arbitrary diameter. We also show that these graphs are not radio graceful for large $t$.

Opis:
Since its beginning radio has also been used as an instrument of international communication. Broadcast stations sending messages abroad began to appear shortly after the first wireless transmissions were successfully performed with the use of the Morse code. The discovery of radio waves enabled sending information on long distances without wire. This invention gave the new possibilities to communicate between continents, from ships to shores and back, or between military troupes during wartime. International broadcasting was also used to communicate with allies and with enemies during military conflicts. At that time an ability to transmit voice using radio waves had already been developed, then radio transmissions entered the dimension of entertainment as well as political communication with citizens and foreigners. The international voice broadcasting service has been developed from 1927 with the purpose of keeping the citizens in touch with the mother countries and also of helping the governments to disseminate its culture throughout the world. In this context the article is an analysis of the legal basis, purposes, directions and technical aspects of broadcasting, and organisational structure of the Radio Poland (former Polish Radio External Service).

This article examines the community radio scene in Hungary, focusing on two stations in Budapest: Tilos Radio and EPER Radio. The authors explore the unique characteristics and principles of community radio in Hungary through desk research and interviews with key players in the community radio movement conducted in October 2022. They highlight how these two stations, while differing in their specific forms of community broadcasting, share a commonality of being independent and offering an alternative to mainstream and public radio programming. Sustainability was identified as a significant challenge facing community radio stations in Hungary, primarily because of unfriendly media policy promoting voices supporting the government. The article also provides characteristics of the community radio concept and the historical context of community radio in Hungary, noting that this country was the first in Central and Eastern Europe to incorporate the third broadcasting sector into media law.

The article deals with issues related to transmission of a signal with the OFDM multitude modulation in a real radio channel. Following short characteristics of the OFDM modulation, the article includes an analysis of typical radio channels from the angle of amplitude and phase on the basis of delay profiles referred to in the literature. The study contains results of simulated receipt of the OFDM signal in the multi-path conditions. On the basis of diagrams of constellation of the modulation symbols, the author presented differences in the quality of the signal before and after the phase correction and improvement in the quality due to application of cyclic prefix. Influence of noise as well as the fact that the terminals are non-stationary on operation of the frequency characteristics estimation algorithm was analyzed. At the end, an example was presented of application of a linear model of estimation of phase characteristics of a channel with the shift in frequency occurring in mobile systems as a consequence of the Doppler effect being compensated.

The main objective of this surveying is to test and qualify the potential of radio astronomical sources that can be observed in Malaysia generally. Analysis process focuses on the high sources that contribute the pollution and the significant region that can be considered for astronomical purpose beginning 1-2000 MHz. It was found that 13 individual sources contribute as a noise and mostly are telecommunication and radio navigation applications. We then compared of the RFI profiles based on three different periods in order to observe the variety of the signals. The main regions that still excellent to do an observation are: 13.36 -13.41 MHz (solar), (25.55-25.67) MHz (Jupiter) and (37.50-38.25) MHz (Continuum) respectively. This work is also an initiative of the International Space Weather Initiative (ISWI) project where Malaysia is one of the countries that involve in e-CALLISTO (Compound Astronomical Low Cost Low Frequency Transportable Observatory) network project. Some suggestions are recommended in order to improve the quality of the radio frequency profile.

This Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) study is currently one of a main sub-research in radio astronomy in Malaysia. The main objective of this monitoring is to test and qualify the potential of radio astronomical sources that can be observed in Malaysia generally. Analysis process focuses at indoor and outdoor of Faculty of Applied Sciences, UITM Shah ALAM, Malaysia (latitude: 03°06.534’N, longitude: 101°50.396’E). There are three mobile network communications that operate at the upper band frequency of 1800MHz, which are Maxis (1805-1830 MHz), Celcom (1830-1855 MHz) and Digi (1855-1880 MHz) for GSM/LTE network. We observed that both sites having the highest and second highest peak at the same frequency of 420 MHz and 1835 MHz with the same source, which were due to mobile application followed by the lowest peak due to radio navigation satellite. We verified that the source of RFI of 1835 MHz at the Faculty of Applied Sciences may come from Celcom mobile telecommunication network signal because there is transmitter on top of two Celcom towers. This observation must be continuously done to ensure that RFI level does not increase drastically and to ensure that allocation spectrum band that was reserved for radio astronomy activities was always protected.

Frequency planning consists in allocating frequencies to the transmitters of a cellular network so as to ensure that no pair of transmitters interfere. We study the problem of reducing interference by modeling this by a radio k-labeling problem on graphs: For a graph G and an integer k ≥ 1, a radio k-labeling of G is an assignment f of non negative integers to the vertices of G such that
$|f(x)-f(y)| ≥ k+1-d_G(x,y)$,
for any two vertices x and y, where $d_G(x,y)$ is the distance between x and y in G. The radio k-chromatic number is the minimum of max{f(x)-f(y):x,y ∈ V(G)} over all radio k-labelings f of G. In this paper we present the radio k-labeling for the Cartesian product of two graphs, providing upper bounds on the radio k-chromatic number for this product. These results help to determine upper and lower bounds for radio k-chromatic numbers of hypercubes and grids. In particular, we show that the ratio of upper and lower bounds of the radio number and the radio antipodal number of the square grid is asymptotically [3/2].
