Opis:
The periodicity of compressor operation is a source of pressure pulsations in volumetric compressor manifolds. An analysis of pressure pulsations is important for several reasons. The Helmholtz model, applied in all commercial programs offered by the companies professionally dealing with damping pressure pulsations, contains numerous simplifying assumptions; a straight pipe segment, with an ideal gas isentropic flow assumption, substitutes each element of the piping system. In many cases this model is insufficient. The existing experimental methods could not be used in the design of a muffler. The aim of this paper is to show a new method to identify an arbitrary fragment of a manifold, i.e. a method of identification of the appropriate complex transmittance matrix elements using CFD simulation. This method allows the liquid phase dispersed in the compressed gas and non ideal gas as a working medium to also be considered. The most important conclusion of this work is that identification of acoustic element parameters in the manifold, based on multi-dimensional simulation model, is feasible. The author obtained much better results from the developed method than those yielded by the classic Helmholtz model. A comparison between pure gas and gas with oil contamination is also shown in the paper.

Opis:
The paper reviews the characteristics of pulsating or cyclic flow of bulk solids during gravity discharge in bins and silos. The dynamic load phenomenon is often referred to as "silo quaking" and is known to occur in silos of various geometrical shapes, operating under different flow patterns. Examples include mass-flow, funnel-flow, expanded-flow, multi-outlet bins and bins operating under intermediate-flow. While silo quaking is often associated with tall bins, depending on the flow pattern, the problem can also be experienced in bins of squat proportions. The period of pulsations during flow is influenced by various factors, such as, particle size and size distribution, silo wall material and wall roughness, internal friction, moisture content and discharge flow rate. Of particular relevance is the influence of slip-stick effects during shear flow, and velocity at critical sections in the silo during discharge. The paper presents an overview of silo quaking with case studies to illustrate the range of problems that can occur.

Opis:
This work deals with investigation of influence of flow pulsation on the accuracy of gas flow rate and volume measurement by means of the differential pressure flow meters. Experimental studies of the step response curves of an impulse line with a pressure transducer (PT) were carried out with application of a high-frequency analog-to-digital converter of the pressure signal in the PT chamber. Mathematical model of an impulse line with a PT was built. This model provides simulation and investigation of the transient processes with high accuracy. The influence of the impulse line design (length, diameter) on the step response curves and on the frequency response curves as well as on the resonant frequency of the oscillating system (an impulse line with a PT chamber) was studied. The systematic errors of flow rate and volume measurement due to the resonance in the impulse lines which was caused by flow pulsation were simulated and studied for an acting differential pressure natural gas metering system. On the basis of the calculation results it was defined that amplification of the amplitude of the oscillating signal of the differential pressure due to the resonance may lead to a negative systematic error of gas volume measurement. The systematic errors of gas flow rate and volume measurement caused by the flow pulsation can be reduced by choosing the correct design of the impulse lines in order to avoid the resonance.

Opis:
The aim of the work is to create a mathematical model for the distribution of emissions from vehicles. In this article, it was proposed to use the probabilistic and statistical approach for modelling the distribution of harmful impurities in the atmosphere from vehicles using the example of the Ust-Kamenogorsk city. Using a simplified methodology of stochastic modelling, it is possible to construct effective numerical computational algorithms that significantly reduce the amount of computation without losing their accuracy.
