Opis:
Nowadays many companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), specialize in a limited field of production. It requires forming virtual production networks of cooperating enterprises to manufacture better, faster and cheaper. Apart from that, some production orders cannot be realized, because there may not be a company of sufficient production potential. In this case the virtual production networks of cooperating companies can realize these production orders. These networks have larger production capacity and many different resources. Therefore it can realize many more production orders than only one of them. Such organization allows for executing high quality product. The maintenance costs of production capacity and used resources are not so high. The productivity is higher in all production systems in the network. The average costs of these systems are smaller and companies are more competitive.

Opis:
The globalization process and the marginalization of Europe in world production prompted the German economy to implement the Industry 4.0 concept called the fourth industrial revolution. As a part of the proposed concept, a close connection of physical objects with the information network should be made. Enterprises will connect by intelligent resources communicating through the modern Internet of Things technologies, big data, and cloud computing. Therefore modern enterprises have a new further challenge which means a need to build and cooperate within cyber-physical systems. The aim of the article is to present key challenges for Polish small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises oriented to the cooperation within the Industry 4.0 concept. Furthermore, the results of surveys conducted on a selected group of Polish production companies in the metal sector are shown. These results present the condition of Polish enterprises, their concerns and expectations regarding the implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept. The paper contains also the new idea to create the Cyber Industry Network (CIN) which means a kind of the on-line available platform for exchanging production capacity of small and medium enterprises and allows for the efficient combining of free resources to realize joint production projects.

Opis:
The sustainability of date palm production in Tafilalet’s palm grovesis threatened by many constraints related to the dryland’s severe environment, climate change, and improper human activities. Biotechnological innovations are new agricultural research discoveries increasingly used to improve agricultural sustainability. For example compost, has proven its benefits in facing date palm production constraints, improving its productivity, and enhancing soil health. Using linear approaches has proven their ineffectiveness to disseminate the advantages of innovations to small producers. As an alternative, Innovation Platforms (IPs) constitute a participatory approach based on a multi-stakeholder alliance for disseminating innovations. This article aimed to study the effects of Ips on the compost adoption and dissemination process as well as evaluate compost impacts on the production of dates. Two types of investigation tools were conducted on members of 47 IPs. Data were analyzed using factorial analysis, content analysis, and communication network analysis. The results show that IPs are a new organizational innovation impacting positively on date palm social systems. They create powerful collective learning through their strong dynamism and interaction. The producers who adopted compost are characterized by a high level of education, take a responsible position in GIE, have a large social network, interact with the research team and other producers, engage and participate in the activities of IPs, search for agricultural news, and have the ability to accept change and develop their skills. Compost can improve the water-holding capacity of soil, increase yield, and reduce expenses by decreasing the need for water, fertilizers, and phytosanitary treatments. Compost is the best alternative to face the environmental and climate change drawbacks on the production of dates.

Opis:
In recent years, the majority of studies on new technology-related phenomena have focused either on proving the benefits of innovative solutions or on criticizing social costs. The path chosen in the reviewed book Collaborative Society by Dariusz Jemielniak and Aleksandra Przegalinska is to capture a wider cultural shift that is taking place because ICT (Information and Communication Technology) tools allow people to take advantage of their willingness to cooperate. The key thesis is that the collaborative society goes far beyond the sharing economy – or economy in general. New means of digital communication, remix culture and citizen science prove that this shift is transforming social relations and our mutual relations. The authors search for the manifestations of a collaborative society in joint online production and consumption, cooperation of social activists and hacktivism, social production of knowledge, gadgets encouraging cooperation and subversive connection in digital spaces. The future of cooperation is a story about the tension between the new, communal mode of production and its distortion by capitalism. The book is a good summary of the research area and an introduction for anyone looking to explore this topic or participate in a collaborative society.

Opis:
The article presents a solution based on a cyber-physical system in which data collected from measuring sensors was analysed for prediction in the production process control system. The presented technology was based on intelligent sensors as part of the solution for Industry 4.0. The main purpose of the work is to reduce data and select the appropriate covariate to optimise modelling of defects using the Cox model for a specific mechanical system. The reliability of machines and devices in the production process is a condition for ensuring continuity of production. Predicting damage, especially its movement, gives the ability to monitor the current state of the machine. In a broader perspective, this enables streamlining the production process, service planning or control. This ensures production continuity and optimal performance. The presented model is a regressive survival analysis model that allows you to calculate the probability of failure occurring over a given period of time.
Artykuł przedstawia rozwiązanie oparte na systemie cyber-fizycznym, w którym analizowano dane zbierane z czujników pomiarowych do predykcji w systemie kontroli procesów produkcyjnych. Zapewnia to utrzymanie ciągłości produkcji i optymalnej jej wydajności. Przedstawiony model jest regresywnym modelem analizy przeżycia, który pozwala na obliczanie prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia awarii w określonym czasie.
