Aim/purpose – This paper attempts to arrange and present the methods of measuring the competences of production enterprises in the field of product innovations. Design/methodology/approach – The method used in this paper is a literature review, in the area of new product development management. The author assumes that the review and conceptual nature of this research is dominant. Findings – The obtained results indicate the importance of measurement in product innovation competencies and provide various metrics in this field. The author proposes new indicators to measure competencies in this area, i.e., the intensity of competition on new products market. Research implications/limitations – The results provide a basis for improving efforts of production enterprises in the field of product innovations. The limitations of the study include a complex character of considered theoretical constructs. Sets of measures must be adapted to the information needs of a specific enterprise. Originality/value/contribution – The values of these indicators reflect the directions of industrial enterprises’ conduct in the process of developing new products and technologies. Moreover, these indicators show the strength of linking technology with the effectiveness of new product development, and consequently with the enterprise marketing, economic and financial efficiency. The contribution of research to the development of management sciences primarily includes the formulation of a set of indicators whose level determines product innovation competencies in industrial companies.

Opis:
The main purpose of this work is to identify the factors that influence the process of technology management in the sector of small- and medium-sized enterprises of the metal processing industry, considering the shape and course required to achieve modern operation conditions by enterprises in the market. The research process used the case study method, which was preceded by study visits to manufacturing enterprises, direct interviews with representatives of the management and employees of enterprises, and observations of the processing conditions. The result of the research was the identification of technologies available and used in the analysed enterprises. It defines the process of technology management as well as the internal and external factors influencing this process and defines the timeline for the process of technology management. The obtained results are the effect of the preliminary research, whose outcome will result in the development of issues related to technology management. They will be used to create a model of technology management, the assumptions of which will respond to modern needs and possibilities of manufacturing enterprises of the metal processing industry. The model can be used for practical application aimed at the provision of enterprises with innovation and competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets.

Effective management of the company is not the result of the trial and error method, but is based on modern-functioning companies on rational management instruments. They include management methods that are well-tried, logical sets of rules and stages used in the processes of managing human teams. The application of a certain management method in practice can not be accidental. Before executing the implementation decision, the management of an economic organization should: carry out a company's diagnosis in the system: factors influencing the company's success - management results, analyze whether the managerial staff is a critical element of the company's development, define a long-term program for improvement of business management systems, select a bunch of management methods adequate to the specifics of the company. After analyzing the above-mentioned tasks, the basic management method and supporting methods should be selected. The basic method should be total, i.e. applicable to all organizational entities. At the same time, at individual management levels, the so-called a free management space within which it is possible to use other partial management methods.

Distributors operating in the distribution channel and performing the same activities do not always do it in the same way. For a manufacturer relationships with some distributors will always be more beneficial than with others. It may become clear that the distributor who sells the largest volumes of goods, in fact, does not bring much profit to the producer, whereas a small trading company may have a significant potential. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and optimize each aspect of cooperation with distributors. The analysis and optimization should be performed bearing in mind both the manufacturer and the consumer. The paper presents an evaluation of the system of distributors during the commercialization of innovative production. The evaluation is conducted on the example of companies from the chemical industry and is based on the improved criteria. For each assessment criterion, the appropriate scale and formula for calculating the integral estimate are determined. The proposed approach deepens the existing theoretical and practical approaches in marketing distribution policy.

Both in the Polish and global economy, many companies are looking for solutions and management methods that, with such high competition, will allow them to adapt to the changing conditions and increasingly demanding customers. Many companies, to meet their expectations, began to improve their processes, moving away from the conventional way of thinking for a new approach, and new management methods. The purpose of this article is to analyze the selected methods of the implemented production system, based on Lean Manufacturing principles, which is still evolving. The leitmotiv of this system is the elimination of all loss-making activities, finding the right solution and using the appropriate tools, as well as involvement of employees. The research was carried out on the case study referring to the corporation, which operates in the sanitary technology sector. The paper attempts to assess the scope of implementation of the individual Lean Manufacturing tools and their importance in the process of eliminating of various types of wastage.

A comparative study of the meat processing firms in the Republic of Belarus is performed.. Those situated in Volkovysk region are most profitable and most labour efficient. The difference between the most efficient and the least efficient (they work at a loss) groups of firms is 7.1 percent points in profit margin.

This article summarizes the arguments and counterarguments within the scientific discussion on identifying the enterprise’s state to evaluate its effectiveness and optimize the target functions in solving enterprise development problems. The proposed scientific and methodological approach to modeling the enterprise development management system under decentralization conditions and its practical implementation makes it possible to determine the dominant development parameters of manufacturing enterprises that influence the United Territorial Community and to timely track the impulses and space of the United Territorial Community state, taking into account the PS state as parameters for its development. The proposed analysis of the Production System state within the United Territorial Community framework and evaluating its development dynamics shows the necessity of forming a system of generalized vector-scalar, situationally oriented indicators.

The article examines the relationship between object-orientation and transformations of manufacturing processes. For this purpose, the information- enterprise was defined, as characterized by a change of balance between the processing of materials and processing of information. In section 1 the genesis of the considered transformations was identified, proposing their classification on three levels. Section 2 was devoted to the characteristics of the information-enterprise as an organization of self-learning, virtuality, networking and bio organization. The importance of industrial development trends 4.0 was mentioned. In section 3 features of object-oriented programming were connected to examples of solutions in industrial practice. The business model of information and its surroundings was defined. The summary pointed out the advantages of object-oriented approach to transformations in production.

The aim of the study is the analysis of the property status of Hungarian agricultural enterprises, including main financial processes. The study is based on the corporation tax returns database collected by the NAV (National Taxation and Customs Organization) for the period 2002-2011. Referring to literature related to the topic, the study presents special features of agriculture and their effects on agricultural revenues. Invested (fixed) assets as well as current assets, including parameters describing their structures, within the scope of the financial position of enterprises, have been analysed. The description of the financial position has been conducted using the method of liquidity analysis, after which resource allocation, strictly connected with it, has been analysed.
Celem badań było przedstawienie statusu nieruchomości węgierskich spółek rolnych oraz prześledzenie głównych procesów finansowych. Badanie oparto w szczególności na bazie danych dotyczącej zwrotów podatku dochodowego, opracowanej przez NAV (Narodowa Organizacja ds. Opodatkowania i Cła), obejmującej okres lat 2002-2011. Nawiązując do literatury temetu przedstawiono charakterystyczne cechy rolnictwa i ich wpływ na zyski rolne. Przeanalizowano zainwestowane (stałe) środki pod kątem pozycji finansowej przedsiębiorstw, jak również środki bieżące, posiłkując się parametrami opisującymi ich strukturę. Opis pozycji finansowej stworzono za pomocą metody analizy płynności, a następnie zbadano podział zasobów, bezpośrednio z nim związany.

The paper aimed to analyze the production capacity and financial results of a company called JSC “Samarqanddonmahsulotlari”, which operates as a major enterprise in the grain industry in Uzbekistan. It has been argued that the company’s production capacity is not used at full range, thus limiting company profitability. Development can be achieved by securing raw material supplies and ensuring the proper distribution of products in a demand driven market.
Zaprezentowano analizę możliwości produkcyjnych i wyników finansowych spółki UAB „Samarqanddonmahsulotlari”, która działa jako jedno z największych przedsiębiorstw w branży zbożowej w Uzbekistanie. Wykazano, iż jej zdolności produkcyjne nie są wykorzystane w pełnym zakresie, co negatywnie wpływa na sytuację finansową firmy. Stwarza to jednak dobre podstawy do dalszego rozwoju, który można osiągnąć przez zapewnienie dostaw odpowiedniej ilości surowców oraz zapewnienie właściwej dystrybucji produktów na rynku regulowanym przez popyt.

The competitiveness of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) is vital for the European economy. Also, manufacturing is often the core competence of SMEs. Adopting lean philosophy is a viable and popular approach for developing production and enabling continuous improvement. Despite the increased interest in empirical lean research, the body of knowledge about lean manufacturing development in SMEs is currently insufficient. This paper describes a study of a lean development project in a Finnish-based manufacturing SME. A current state analysis and development proposals are presented. The project applies a framework that other SMEs can utilize in identifying their problem areas and creating development proposals for their production activities. The results of the study contribute to the existing body of knowledge in lean manufacturing. In addition, managers in SMEs can utilize the study results as a reference when designing production development projects.

The article contains experience in strengthening critical large-cast reinforced concrete monolith structures under heavy-load conditions on the operating construction enterprise. Herewith measures aimed to strengthen reinforced concrete loading ramp retaining wall resulted in the change of operation scheme as flagstone with outline abutment to classic operation scheme of retaining wall with reverse transom. All the main stages of the strengthening process technique are described in detail, in particular starting from the examination stage of the structure mode of deformation, its monitoring during implementation of works, and ending with stage of exploitation of both reinforced concrete technological foundations and retaining wall under operational loadings.
W artykule opisano doświadczenie wzmocnienia odpowiedzialnych wielogabarytowych żelbetowych monolitycznych konstrukcij, które pracują w ciężkich warunkach eksploatacyjnych działającego przedsiębiorstwa branży budowlanej. W tym wypadku środki wzmacniające żelbetowej ściany oporowej rampy załadunkowej spowodowały zmiany schematu obliczeniowego pracy - ze schematu płyty opartej konturowo na schemat pracy ściany oporowej z odsadzką Określono szczegółowo wszystkie główne etapy technologii wzmocnienia, zaczynając od fazy badania stanu deformacyjno-naprężeniowego konstrukcji, poprzez monitorowanie całego okresu pracy, aż do etapu eksploatacji żelbetowych technologicznych fundamentów oraz ściany oporowej pod obciążeniem użytkowym.
