Opis:
Designing and proper implementation of effective processes and providing the customer with high quality products undoubtedly determines the stable position on the market. The aim of the study was to analyse the cost and value of the technological process of doors in the context of creating added value and to identify unnecessary processes (not creating added value) in relation to which appropriate corrective actions could contribute to their elimination. Thanks to the application of remedial measures, consistent with the lean manufacturing concept, the study eliminated, among other things, operations related to unnecessary transport and storage of products, which resulted in both the reduction of time and costs of process implementation.

Opis:
The present article deals with the possibility of using the reverse engineering method for the production of prototype molds by Patternless process technology. Article describes method how to obtain virtual model by using a 3D scanner. Article also explains principle of the Patternless process technology, which is based on the milling mold cavity using CNC machining equipment. The aim of the research is the use of advanced technologies that speed up and facilitate the process of production prototype mold. The practical result of the presented experiment is bronze casting, which serves as a foot rest bracket on historic bike.

The work deals with technology Patternless process that combines 3 manufacturing process mold by using rapid prototyping technology, conventional sand formation and 3D milling. It's unconventional technology that has been developed to produce large-sized and heavy duty castings weighing up to several tons. It is used mainly in prototype and small batch production, because eliminating production of models. The work deals with the production of blocks for making molds of gypsum and gypsum drying process technology Thermomold. Into blocks, where were made cavities by milling were casted test castings from AlSi10MgMn alloy by gravity casting. At machining of the mold cavity was varied feed rate of tool of cemented carbide. Evaluated was the surface roughness of test castings, that was to 5 micrometers with feed from 900 to 1300 mm/min. The dimensional accuracy of castings was high at feed rate of 1000 and 1500 mm/min did not exceed 0.025 mm.

The paper presents a numerical analysis of the behaviour of egg-shaped glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) panels during the grouting process when using short relining technology. The analysis was carried out for panels subjected to temperature changes. The temperature increase was caused by the heat of hydration of the grout. It was shown that temperature had a significant effect on the stresses occurring in the panels’ walls and also on their deformations. The analysis involved grout being added in a single stage and then in two stages for comparison. The distribution of stresses and deformations were examined for panels with different wall thicknesses that ranged from 12 to 20 mm. Extensive knowledge about the grouting process and the effect of temperature on the behaviour of GRP panels during the assembly stage when using short relining technology could make this non-disruptive technology more competitive with regards to the time of its implementation and its costs when compared to traditional methods.

Having precise understanding of how business processes are performed in real-life is an important input for decision makers and consequently is a strong competitive advantage for an organization. In the constantly changing modern business environment it is crucial to provide that information as soon as possible, preferably in the real-time mode. In practice, such kind of tasks are usually resolved by means of Business Intelligence solutions implemented either from scratch or based upon customizable packages. Despite of the wide range currently available types of data visualizations, modern BI solutions still lacks features to represent data obtained from process-aware systems, for example control flow charts. Current paper is devoted to the information technology for real-time business process monitoring. The represented solution is an extendable software which is based on the lambda architecture and a streaming process discovery technique.

Commercialization processes are modeled and analyzed from the point of view of the implementation of activities under particular stages. These issues are the subject of many studies and analyzes, which is why the extensive literature is available on this subject. Technology valuation at various stages of the commercialization process is a separate issue. Such valuation is prepared in most cases by consulting companies for determining the price in the buying and selling processes. These valuations use known methods also used in other cases, e.g., real estate valuation. The work carried out presents the author’s concept of the commercialization process model, taking into account the costs and value of the technology at various stages of the product life cycle. The model uses a stochastic approach to determine future revenues and costs, which allows estimating the value of the technology by or in determining the probability of assessment validity. The proposed stochastic approach greatly increases the chances of using the presented solutions in practical activities related to technology valuation for the purposes of purchase and sale transactions.

Opis:
A material model for strain rate and temperature dependent asymmetric plastic behavior accompanied by phase transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) as an important phenomenon in steel production and machining processes was developed. To this end the well-known Johnson-Cook flow stress model has been extended by the concept of weighting functions considering the asymmetric plastic material behavior under tensile, compressive and torsion load. Furthermore, the extended Johnson-Cook model has been combined with the Leblond approach regarding the ductility increase by transformation induced plasticity occurring during hard turning of AISI 52100. On the basis of the theoretical approach for calculating the flow stress with consideration of the viscoplastic asymmetry, a material routine for the FEM-software DEFORM has been implemented. The material and friction model coefficients have been determined in accordance with force and surface temperature measurements during hard turning of AISI 52100. The model takes the phase transformations between martensite and austenite and the influence of externally applied stress on the austenite start temperature into account.

The decisions involved in rural settings are of complex nature, with some aspects compounded by the presence of intangible criteria. Hence, a suitable approach is needed that can produce effective solutions. This paper describes the applicability of a multicriteria decision-making method, specifically the analytic network process (ANP), to model the selection of an appropriate telecommunications infrastructure technology, capable of deploying e-services in rural areas of developing countries. It aims to raise awareness among telecommunication planners about the availability of ANP, and to demonstrate its suitability to enhance the selection process. The proposed model is constructed based on concerned experts' views of relevant selection criteria and potential technology alternatives. Its network structure caters for all possible dependencies and interactions among criteria and alternatives.
