The article presents an experimental stand to assess the state of punch in the process of sheet blanking. Blanking trials were carried out on an eccentric press. During all the trials, there were recorded signals of acoustic emission (AE) that accompanied the process of blanking. For the recorded AE signals, the methodology of data preparation and analysis was presented. On that basis, the results of the assessment of the state of the punch were presented, and they employed five methods of visualization: Andrews curves, Principal Components Analysis, Linear Discriminant Analysis, a modified method of Stochastic Neighbor Embedding and Sammon Mapping. The aim of the work was to assess the possibility of using visualization methods to predict the condition of the tool on the basis of acoustic emission signals in processes carried out in extremely short times.

Next-generation of High-Speed Machining (HSM) systems demand advanced features such as intelligent control under uncertainty. This requires, in turn, an efficient administration and optimization of all system's resources towards a previously identified objective. This work presents an optimization system based on Markov Decision Process (MDP), where an intelligent control guides the actions of the operator in peripheral milling processes. Early results suggest that MDP framework can cope with this application, yielding several benefits, which are discussed in detail. Future work will address the full integration of the developed optimization scheme within a commercial machining center.

This paper presents the rotational molding process. The general principles of this polymer processing technology have been described. The main applications have been introduced and leading advantages and typical disadvantages of rotational molding process have been discussed. Based on the conducted experimental tests, the influ¬ence of changing one selected technological parameter, which characterized rotational molding process, on selected geometrical features of the polymer cast has been deter¬mined. Rotational mold’s speed around axes was changed and a thickness of cast walls has been measured. Laboratory test stand, processing properties of polymer, also test program and experimental test methodology have been described.

Opis:
Turning machining is a complex process in which many variables can influence the desired results. Among those variables, cutting tool vibration and cutting force greatly affect the precision of the workpiece and the tool life. While the tool vibration and cutting force in feeding are primarily determined by cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut as well as the dynamic characteristics of the machining system. This paper presents an analytical modeling approach to investigate the effects of machining conditions based on the governing equation of the machining system. The machining behaviors under different conditions were simulated by Simulink block diagram. Basically, the cutting speed is considered the parameter dominating the vibration behavior and hence is served as the primary input for the simulation. The effectiveness of constant surface speed (CSS mode) or function G96 in the turning process was further examined through comparisons of the variations of vibration and cutting force generated in feeding with different conditions.

Opis:
A theoretical regularity of the general behaviour of raw cotton as a porous medium in the technological processes of its mechanical processing has been substantiated for the first time. The speed of sound in a porous cotton medium has now been determined. The effect of additional force stresses inside the cotton medium caused by the filtration of the air component from cotton raw materials during the introduction of the working body, has been disclosed. A generalized equation that describes the force stress in a cotton medium when exposed to a variety of shapes of working bodies of cotton machines has been worked out. A method for calculating the damage to seeds and cotton fibers caused by their interactions with the working bodies of processing machines has been proposed. The resultant theory that describes the stress state of cotton raw materials during processing allows us to use it practically to solve all important issues pertaining to the damage of fiber and cotton seeds that occur by using technological solutions in primary processing of cotton operations.

This text considers the crisis in the context of its impact on development and disparities within structure of the European Union across various levels of its functions. The main objective of this work is to provide answers to the following questions: how many times has the European Union faced the crisis in the past; was the crisis an element that eventually strengthened or weakened the EU integration process; what decisions were made to fight the crisis; and to what extent was the crisis an element that led to disparities within the European Union? One of the goals is also to define the notion of crisis. The primary thesis of this text is a statement that crises, which affected the EU, contributed to differentiations of its policies. This is partially contrary to the concept of the European integration, developed in the 1950s, which assumed that the EU member states need to move forward at the same speed and as part of equal participation in the integration projects. Crises, however, contribute to disparities in the European integration.

In this study, a flake-shaped metal powder was coated on a tube shaped pre-sintered 316L stainless steel support using a wet powder spraying process to fabricate a double pore structure, and the pore characteristics were analyzed according to coating time and tube rotation speed. The thickness of the coated layer was checked via optical microscopy, and porosity was measured using image analysis software. Air permeability was measured using a capillary flow porometer. As a result of the experiment, the optimal rotation speed of the support tube was established as 200 rpm. When the rotation speed was fixed, the coating thickness and the coating amount of the double pore structure increased as the coating time increased. The porosity of the double pore structure was increased due to the irregular arrangement of the flake-shaped powder. The air permeability of the double pore structure decreased with increasing fine pore layer thickness.

At present, the subject of basic and applied research is becoming a specific type of educational transaction whose aim is to know the cognitive determinants of the educational process. Research findings relating to the brain and mind indicate that if we can gain a better understanding of a pupil’s cognitive apparatus, this may lead to more effective teaching of low-performing pupils. When considering the causes of a pupil’s unsatisfactory school performance, it is important to consider which elements of thinking require activation during information processing, or task performance. Knowing the aspects of motor and mental speed and cognitive flexibility of the pupil is the starting point for cognitive stimulus transactions. From this knowledge, subsequently generated transactions can be carried out in an individual intervention aimed at remediating the possible cognitive deficiencies in low performing pupils. In the paper we present the results of the pilot research (as a part of more complex experimental study ), the intention of which is to assess the suitability and the selection of appropriate research tools in the diagnosis of motor speed in pupils. The diagnosis is an introduction to research on the assessment of the impact of the relationship between the motor speed and the speed of information processing in a student on the their success in learning. The subjects are students aged 8-10, gender-diverse. During the diagnosis: Mira Stambak hatch tests, the "Looping" test, the rate of writing the word "house" by Elżbieta Grzegorzewska test, Rene Zazzo Card Test, Ozierecki test of motor speed development, test of cognitive functions Trail Making Test (TMT) Dean Delis, Edith Kaplan and Joel Kramer. The following have been taken into account: accuracy of the test, time needed to carry out the test, clarity of instructions, criteria for evaluation of results and interest of students. After analyzing the results, it has been found that the proper tests will be conducted with the following tests: Looping, Hatching and Trail Making Test.

In this paper, we examine the problem of optimising the process of topping up lubricating oil in medium-speed marine engines. This process is one of the methods that can be applied to improve the properties of lubricating oil. The amount of fresh oil added to lubricating oil system always balances its consumption, but the method used to top up depends on the marine engineer. Small amounts of fresh oil can be added at short intervals, or large ones at long intervals, and the element of randomness often plays a significant role here. It would therefore be valuable to find a method that can help the mechanical engineer to choose the right strategy. We apply a multi-criteria optimisation method for this purpose, and assume that the criterion functions depend on the concentration of solid impurities and the alkalinity, which are among the most important aspects of the quality and properties of lubricating oil. These criterion functions form the basis for multi-objective optimisation carried out with the use of the MATLAB computer program.

Different buried permanent magnet arrangements in rotors are compared based on electrical machines found in literature regarding high-speed capability. An analytical approach is presented to analytically calculate mechanical stresses in the bilateral and central bridge of V arrangements in order to determine the achievable circumferential velocity of a rotor geometry. The mechanical model is coupled to an analytical model which can determine the flux density in the main air gap under consideration of flux leakage within the rotor. The multi-domain model enables the analytical design of high-speed rotors with buried permanent magnets in V-arrangement.

Frequent crew rotation, a shorthand, and various levels of technical crew skills, are the facts with the ship-owners has to cope very often. Having the proper level of engine exploitation as a main objective is necessary to implement a constant engine monitoring system, in order to obtain quick and reliable diagnostic information. One cannot omit the financial aspect of monitoring system implementation, created by its price and costs of service. In this paper, the analysis of diagnostic utility of the signal deriving from a propulsion shaft fluctuation during its one revolution is presented. The angular speed of the shaft was measured using a laser sensor of torque meter ETNP-10. Diagnostic utility validation has been verified on a basis of combustion quality, in cylinders of two-stroke, turbocharged Marine Diesel Engine. Test was carried out on board of a container vessel during its sea passage. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the method, the crew simulated engine’s malfunction by fuel injection cut-off in various cylinders (only one in the same time).The interference signals decomposition was carried out using the method of synchronous averaging and moving approximation with polynomial of 3rd exponent.

Excavation, especially of hard rocks, using boom-type road headers is a source of strong vibrations of the boom in which they are equipped. These vibrations are transferred through construction nodes further to the turntable and the body of the road header. On the one hand, they are of great importance from the point of view of the durability and the reliability of the mining machine. On the other hand, they affect the variability of the parameters at which the process of cutting the heading face surface of a drilled roadway or tunnel is carried out. For the purpose of determining the vibration intensity of the boom of the road header a photogrammetry system based on two high-speed cameras Phantom Miro LC 120 was used. During the experimental investigations of the cutting process of a cement-sand block using the R-130 road header, the boom and turntable movements were recorded. The analysis of the time-lapse pictures of the recorded footage obtained from the high-speed cameras using dedicated TEMA 3D software allowed to determine the spatial trajectory of movement of the boom and the turntable during the cutting of the massive with specified mechanical properties with set values of the parameters of this process. Basing on the time courses of the coordinates of the boom and turntable characteristic points, the courses of the actual boom swinging speed and acceleration components of its vibrations were determined. The intensity of these vibrations was related to the conditions of the cutting process.
