Opis:
In renewable systems, there may be conditions that can be either network error or power transmission line and environmental conditions such as when the wind speed is unbalanced and the wind turbine is connected to the grid. In this case, the control system is not damaged and will remain stable in the power transmission system. Voltage stability studies on an independent wind turbine at fault time and after fixing the error is one of the topics that can strengthen the future of independent collections. At the time of the fault, the network current increases dramatically, resulting in a higher voltage drop. Hence the talk of fast voltage recovery during error and after fixing the error and protection of rotor and grid side converters against the fault current and also protection against rising DC voltage (which sharply increases during error) is highly regarded. So, several improvements have been made to the construction of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) turbine such as: a) error detection system, b) DC link protection, c) crow bar circuit, d) block of the rotor and stator side converters, e) injecting reactive power during error, f) nonlinear control design for turbine blades, g) tuning and harmonization of controllers used to keep up the power quality and to stabilize the system output voltage in the power grid. First, the dynamic models of a wind turbine, gearbox, and DFIG are presented. Then the controllers are modeled. The results of the simulation have been validated in MATLAB/Simulink.

Opis:
The conversion process in the wind turbine, from mechanical (kinetic) energy to electrical energy, is affected by many factors that increase or decrease the useful output of the wind energy convertor. In this paper, three factors were studied experimentally on a Horizontal Axis Wind Energy Unit “EEEC” in laboratory-scale. The aim of this experiment was to study the influence of the number of blades, the angle of attack and the incident angle on the wind energy unit parameters to optimize its efficiency. For this purpose, the effect of the number of blades was studied firstly, in order to select the number of blades where the maximum inputs obtained at lab ambient temperature 25 °C and atmospheric pressure. Then, different readings of the incident angle and angle of attacks were taken. The data was analyzed using Microsoft Excel software. The results show that the maximum parameters of wind unite energy that produce the maximum efficiency, namely: voltage (volt), current (ampere) and rotational speed (rpm) are obtained when the number of blades is 4, the incident angle is 0° (when the rotor direction is with wind direction) and the angle of attack is 75°. Finally, these results were implemented in a simulation program (HOMER software) that uses this turbine in a resident along with storage to cover the needs of a selected house.

Opis:
This study deals with a new concept of near-shore combined renewable energy system which integrates a monopile wind turbine and a floating buoy with heave-type wave energy converter( WEC). Wave energy is absorbed by power-take-off (PTO) systems. Four different shapes of buoy model are selected for this study. Power performance in regular waves is calculated by using boundary element method in ANSYS-AQWA software in both time and frequency domains. This software is based on three-dimensional radiation/diffraction theory and Morison’s equation using mixture of panels and Morison elements for determining hydrodynamic loads. For validation of the approach the numerical results of the main dynamic responses of WEC in regular wave are compared with the available experimental data. The effects of the heaving buoy geometry on the main dynamic responses such as added mass, damping coefficient, heave motion, PTO damping force and mean power of various model shapes of WEC in regular waves with different periods, are compared and discussed. Comparison of the results showed that using WECs with a curvature inward in the bottom would absorb more energy from sea waves.

Opis:
Wind is such an element of sea environment, from which it is relatively easy to obtain energy. Wind parameters over both seas and oceans are more favorable than those on land (due to variability of landform features). Moreover, also sea wind turbines exercise comparatively smaller negative effect on people than on land. Therefore, sea wind farms are ahead of us, as further development of wind energy. The article presents basic parameters of wind turbines, possible installations on sea bed, as well as future designs of large floating sea farms. The article presents also an example of design analyses of wind turbine, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
