- The article describes the process of unsteady heat transfer that occurs between the vertical ground heat exchanger and the surrounding soil at a depth that is independent from the temperature on the ground surface. A mathematical model of this phenomenon and its examplary solution using the method of elementary balances were presented. Numerical calculations using Mathcad were applied. As a result, the set temperature field is formed in the heat exchanger wall and the surrounding ground.
