Opis:
During motor preparation, the attention is paid more and more frequently to the complex significance of fatigue in the case of the achieved sport outcome. The complexity of this process has not been utterly explained so far. It is important to acquire the profound knowledge about the central and peripheral fatigue while explaining this mechanism, because they remain in the background of the human body malfunction. It needs to be emphasized that both fatigue mechanisms should not be analyzed separately, because they are subordinated to one another. The changes mechanism in central nervous system (CNS) influenced by physical exertion leads to reticular formation impairment. This in turn results in analytic and decision making process malfunction. The proper functioning of these centers depends on appropriate neurotransmitters concentration. The short tryptophan to serotonin metabolic pathway plays a significant role in the central fatigue development. The concentration increase of this hormone leads to CNS malfunction, which causes the above mentioned changes. The purpose of this paper was to show, based on the current literature data, the predisposing mechanisms and factors in the development of fatigue.

Opis:
Background The COVID-19 disease has a negative impact on the psychophysiological health of populations worldwide, including a decrease in overall physical performance and an increase in fatigue. Fatigue was one of the main symptoms reported by patients and persisted for several weeks after infection with COVID-19. Although the phenomenon of fatigue is still poorly understood, physical activity can be a supportive factor in combating feelings of fatigue and lack of energy. The purpose of this research was to assess the physical activity (PA) and fatigue levels of teachers in Poland and the United Kingdom in the first year after the COVID-19 pandemic. Material and Methods The online research was carried out among 410 teachers from Poland and the United Kingdom. The PA level was assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). The level of fatigue was measured using the Modified Fatigue Impact Scale (MFIS). Results Polish teachers, regardless of sex, are more physically active (the differences relate mainly to walking and moderate activity). When assessing the level of fatigue, there is a significant difference between men and women – the former indicate a higher degree of fatigue, with the difference between the sexes being particularly large in the Polish community. Quite clearly, there is an association between less activity (except walking) and more fatigue. All models show a statistically significant effect of total fatigue on total effort. Physical activity is not very strongly correlated with age but the level of fatigue increases with age. Conclusions The problem of teacher fatigue is unfortunately widespread. They should be encouraged to engage in as much PA as possible during the day. When planning and targeting fatigue reduction campaigns, PA should be encouraged and variables such as age, sex should be taken into account.

Opis:
The evaluation of physical activity is a complex task that requires performing an analysis of muscular activity and aerobic/anaerobic threshold and it is often difficult to observe and propose a single method. The purpose of the article is to evaluate a relation between aerobic capacity and activity of lower limb muscles via changes of muscle’s EMG signal during physical, sub-maximal veloergometric loading. The activity parameters of 5 lower limb muscles such as semitendinosus, rectus femoris, biceps femoris, gastrocnemius medialis, and tibialis anterior were measured and analyzed during the veloergometric exercise tests and the heart rate and the aerobic capacity were estimated from registered data. The obtained aerobic parameters allow setting an individual and overall voluntary physical capacity. The regression oxygen function presented allows analyzing and predicting the ability of subjects to generate energy while maintaining muscle activity during the exercise. The correlation between the consumption of oxygen and constant physical loading time is determined. It was found that comparing VO2max capabilities the physical effort in the male group was 16% higher than in women. Oxygen consumption and maximum muscle effort dependency on the load time was established. It was observed that the maximal muscular effort appeared before VO2max reached maximal limit in both groups. The maximal oxygen consumption is achieved in the middle or sometimes at the beginning (depending on load) of exercise while maximal muscular effort was found in several phases of cycling: at the beginning and at the end of loading time.

Opis:
The objective of the research was to determine the effect of mental load on the physical capacity of an individual. An experiment involving 9 combinations of lifting tasks, 1 lowering task, and 3 treadmill tasks was conducted. Heart rate was measured and maximum acceptable weight of lift was determined using the psychophysical method. A simple multiplication task was used as the mental load. The output variables were determined with and without the mental task. The results indicate that the individual’s physical capacity decreased with the mental task while lifting from floor to knuckle and shoulder to reach lifting heights.
