Opis:
The performance failure and reliability of motion mechanism has a significant effect on industry reliability, operation safety and production economy. Motion precise is one of the typical performance indicators especially for motion mechanism with multibody and joints, which will be influenced by necessary joint clearance. Size of joint clearance degenerates with usage such as wear and deformation. Repeated start-stop lead to impact stress and plastic deformation for clearance joint particularly for mechanism with high load and long working cycles. Nevertheless, current research ignoring the coupling of plastic deformation and wear, which will cause a different wear process and mechanism performance failure. This study attempts to investigate the wear process and performance failure model of multibody mechanism with clearance joints considering plastic deformation and wear. Quantification of plastic deformation caused by repeated impact stress of joints is studied by formulation. Then, a novel wear process model is established on the basis of Archard model, after which performance failure indicator of motion mechanism is conducted. In case study case, a linkage motion mechanism with multi revolution joints used in industry assemble line is studied to demonstrate proposed methods and models. This investigative study provides valuable guidelines for degeneration prediction and failure or reliability analysis of motion mechanism.

Opis:
Maintenance is fundamental to ensure the safety, reliability and availability of engineering systems, and predictive maintenance is the leading one in maintenance technology. This paper aims to develop a novel data-driven predictive maintenance strategy that can make appropriate maintenance decisions for repairable complex engineering systems. The proposed strategy includes degradation feature selection and degradation prognostic modeling modules to achieve accurate failure prognostics. For maintenance decision-making, the perfect time for taking maintenance activities is determined by evaluating the maintenance cost online that has taken into account of the failure prognostic results of performance degradation. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed strategy is confirmed using the NASA data set of aero-engines. Results show that the proposed strategy outperforms the two benchmark maintenance strategies: classical periodic maintenance and emerging dynamic predictive maintenance.

Opis:
Achievement motivation is an important prerequisite for students’ engagement, overcoming study difficulties and, ultimately, successful completion of their studies. The aim of this study is to find out the current level of performance motivation of the population of students of engineering high schools, to compare its level with the standard for high school population and to find out whether there is a relationship between its level and choice. Two questionnaires were used in the research. The first was the School Achievement Motivation Questionnaire for Pupils. The theory of achievement motivation is then based on the concept of independence of the need for successful performance and the need to avoid failure. The resulting orientation of a person in a performance situation then depends on the predominance of one or the other tendency. The second questionnaire was focused on finding personal data, questions of school choice, satisfaction with school choice and other. The research was carried out at the beginning of 2020 and the sample consisted of over 900 students. Main results of the study: First, in the component of performance motivation NACH (need to achieve) the performance motivation of the group is statistically different from the group norm. In the NAF (the need to avoid failure) component, the results are statistically identical. Second, schools do not differ in the results for the NACH component, but differ in the NAF component. Third, in both components, the value of performance motivation for beginners and for final years in both components is significantly different from other years. Fourth, the student’s statement on the choice of study at an engineering school as a primary choice is not related to the values of NACH and NAF. Fifth, the level of student’s achievement motivation in both components is related to the student’s idea of studying.

Opis:
To evaluate the electrical contact behaviors of silver metal oxide contact materials in relays application more accurately, and to guide the selection of contact materials, the test device and testing method for simulating electrical contact performance in relays application were analyzed in this paper. The electrical contact simulation test system was designed and developed, which can easily simulate contact materials. The contact resistance, static force and rebound energy degradation parameters of AgSnO2, AgCdO and AgNi contact materials under the same load conditions were obtained through experimental research, the contact resistance and arcing energy degradation parameters of AgSnO2 under different opening distances were acquired at the same time. The result indicated that accurate data are received by the electrical contact simulation testing method. Finally, based on the test data, the degradation performance of three selected test materials was tested, and the failure mechanism of AgSnO2 materials was analyzed.
Parametry degradacji rezystancji zestykowej, siły statycznej oraz energii odbicia materiałów stykowych AgSnO2, AgCdO i AgNi uzyskano w badaniach eksperymentalnych prowadzonych w takich samych warunkach obciążenia. Jednocześnie badano także parametry degradacji rezystancji zestykowej energii łuku AgSnO2 przy różnych odległościach otwarcia styków. Wyniki pokazują, że proponowana metoda badania symulacyjnego styków elektrycznych pozwala na uzyskanie dokładnych danych. W oparciu o dane testowe, przebadano zachowanie degradacyjne trzech wybranych materiałów oraz przeanalizowano mechanizm uszkodzenia styków z kompozytu AgSnO2.

Opis:
Due to the separation of magnetic field, electrical isolation and thermal isolation, motor drives possess a high fault-tolerance characteristic. In this paper, comparative study of mutual inductance between the proposed segmented rotor switched reluctance motor (SSRM) and the conventional switched reluctance motor (SRM) is carried out first, illustrating that the proposed SSRM has less mutual inductance between phases than the conventional SRM. In addition, if winding faults or power converter faults lead to phase failure, a comparative analysis on fault-tolerant performance under phase failure condition between the proposed SSRM and the conventional SRM is simulated in detail using the finite element method (FEM). Simulation results reveal that dynamic performance of the proposed SSRM, including output torque and phase current, is better than that of the conventional SRM. That is, the capacity of operating with the fault under phase failure condition in the proposed SSRM is superior to that in the conventional SRM.
