Aim. The aim of this study was to evaluate working conditions with a notebook computer (notebook) as a potential cause of musculoskeletal disorders. Material and methods. The study had 2 stages. The first one was a questionnaire survey among 300 notebook users. The next stage was an expert analysis of 53 randomly selected workstations. The questionnaire survey included questions about the participants, their working conditions, work organization and also duration of work with a notebook. Results and conclusions. The results of the research showed that most examined operators used a notebook as a basic working tool. The most important irregularities included an unadjustable working surface, unadjustable height of the seat pan and backrest, unadjustable height and distance between the armrests and no additional ergonomic devices (external keyboard, docking station, notebook stand or footstool).

The paper presents state of art in the area of emotion studies. It is stressed that emotions are multicomponent processes including neural, expression, subjective and social elements. We have tried to show that synchronization and coordination of these elements from elementary through intermediate to the most complex level may be understood in terms of emergent processes. Manifestations of emergence may be observed both in social aspects of emotions, as well as subjective and expression ones. Although the idea of emergent processes was not explicitly used by contributors of this volume, the traces of it are present in their papers.

INTRODUCTION: Road accidents lead to injuries which are one of the most common causes of hospitalisation in trauma centres. Proper placement and number of EMS units determine quick arrival in the scene of accident and need for transport to the adequate healthcare entity. MATERIAL AND METHODS: An analysis was carried out of the profile of the patient, the distance to the scene of accident as well as the allocation of accident casualties to healthcare entities. A statistical analysis was conducted by means of the Chi-Square Test of Independence and the Kruskal-Wallis test by ranks. RESULTS: Distances between the scenes of accidents and places where EMS units were stationed was from 0.5 to 37 kilometres (mean: 9.8 km). 170 patients participated in the accidents. Most frequently, these were males at the age from 21 to 40 (mean: 35.77 ± 15.45). The most common diagnoses according to ICD-10 were injuries to the head (42.7%) and injuries of lower limbs (12%). In most cases, the accident casualties were transported to the Emergency Department in Łuków. 21 patients in total were placed in hospital facilities outside the catchment area. The Polish Medical Air Rescue transported the 10 patients in the most severe condition. CONCLUSIONS: Road accidents are most frequently experienced by middle-aged men. Injuries to the head and of lower limbs are the most common injuries. The placement of EMS units in the area under analysis is optimal, but the mean distance covered by the ambulance to reach to scene of accident is nearly 10 kilometres. Despite the presence of the Emergency Department in Łuków, one in ten injured patient warrants transport outside the catchment area and almost 6% of patients qualify for transport by air.

The article offers an architectural analysis of a late antique and medieval type of church characterized by a naos with four pillars or columns supporting the roof. Variants that can be distinguished include one with a passage around the supports and another in which the supports form a cross-in-square. The analyzed type is poorly represented in the church architecture of Egypt, but is well attested in Lower Nubia. Nubian examples of the type give an idea of what the lost Egyptian prototypes may have looked like.

The aim of the article is to present a method concerning the problem of the construction of timetable from the point of view of the assignment of platform edges and stabling tracks. Taking into account these two issues in the method is extremely important from the point of view of the fluency of railway traffic, as well as minimizing railway undertaking costs related to access to the infrastructure offered by the manager in terms of occupying the platform edge above the set time. The paper describes the issues of allocating platform edges and stabling tracks in operating offices, with particular consideration of the costs related to this. The formulation of the problem of the train timetable construction was presented, including the allocation of edges and stabling tracks in a mathematical manner. In the model those parts were specified that are relevant to the research problem considered in the article. In addition, the algorithm of the construction method with the use of a block diagram was discussed.

Opis:
Suicide by hanging is a social phenomenon that is very often analyzed by police officers at the place of its disclosure. Activities carried out pursuant to Art. 308 of the Code of Criminal Procedure provide for an inspection of both the place where the corpse was discovered and the examination of the corpse. Both of these activities are classified as procedural activities and a protocol is drawn up for each of them. This article presents the activities carried out by a forensic technician at the scene of the event, aimed at a kind of reconstruction of the event by revealing traces and objects and their proper protection. The role performed by a forensic technician can definitely be considered necessary and his participation can be compared to the participation of a specialist because the conclusions drawn on the basis of his work should be considered key and often constitute the basis for further preparatory proceedings.

The article contains the analysis of factors influencing the efficiency of work of equipment maintenance, repair and operation (MRO) units of industrial enterprises. We have systematized various classifications of these factors, which were proposed in economic literature by different authors. We have divided the factors into following groups: general and local; primary and secondary; external and internal; major and non-essential; direct and oblique; reducing and boosting the expenses on equipment MRO and repair cost; production and non-production; depending on management and independent; economic, operation, organization ones; structural and production-technical ones; which are interconnected. It has been proposed to classify factors influencing the efficiency of equipment MRO units into five groups: economic, exploitation, organization, production-technical and structural ones. Using expert evaluation method, the factors have been divided into three groups according to degree of their influence on efficiency of work of equipment MRO units of industrial enterprises. The priority was given to the factors of the first group, having decisive influence on formation of efficiency. The most significant factors have been identified. In opinion of experts, these factors include: method of organization of work of equipment MRO service; level of economic autonomy of MRO enterprise in terms of organization of equipment MRO; financial and market situation of enterprise; the degree of repair complexity of production equipment.

Aim. Extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic have led to new ways of learning and teaching, with students and teachers facing many challenges. The aim of the research was to examine attitudes and to determine the impressions and experiences of respondents regarding online teaching as well as to investigate and evaluate learning goals with regard to the SARS-COV-2 virus pandemic. Methods. The research was conducted in the Republic of Croatia on a sample of 1533 university students. A survey questionnaire designed specifically for the purposes of this research was used.Consisted of three independent variables and ten dependent variables related to online teaching. Results. The data obtained show that in online teaching, the respondents mostly used programs such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Merlin, while the least of them used Skype. Regarding testing and assessment, i.e. the grading of success in online teaching, respondents stated that teachers had mostly used colloquia (20.6%) and written exams (19.8%) for grading, while live exams had been used the least. The largest number of research participants, 61.9% of them, expressed the opinion that the criteria and grading procedures were clear and published before individual teaching units Conclusion. Faculties should design different syllabuses for conducting online classes. Centres should be provided/established with the task of collecting digital teaching materials, processing, and storing them, and making them available to teachers and students.

This article deals with the role of emotions in the will activity of the personality. The analysis of the empirical study results shows that appraisal of the role of emotional experience depends on the level of will development of the individuals under study. A methodical technique has been applied, by which the indices of the emotional and volitional sphere are considered throughout different life periods of the individuals under study. Types of interrelation between the indices of will and emotions are highlighted which illustrate certain variants of the influence of emotional experience on the formation of the will structure of the personality.

The aim of the study was to assess the organization and implementation of nutrition for children in child care facilities (n=303) participating in the Yellow Plate (ŻT) program in 2018-2019. The study was carried out in January 2019 throughout the country with the CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interview) method. The survey included 42 questions, including questions about the child care facilities, children attending this institution, the organization and implementation of nutrition in the institution and the perception of the ŻT program. In total, 859 children ate meals in the surveyed facilities, including 426 receiving meals under the ŻT program. In 7 out of 10 institutions ŻT program was the only one aimed at supporting the child nutrition system. 4 out of 10 facilities had their own kitchen; however, in the case of 1/3, their equipment did not correspond to the current needs. Small household appliances, as well as refrigerators, cookers and convection ovens were indicated among the shortages. As part of the ŻT program, every 3rd child care facility received full funding for one meal, and every 5th facility received full funding for the cost of feeding a child; subsidy most often used to finance lunches. Children regularly reporting hunger were present in 41% of the child care facilities. At the same time, almost 3/4 of the facilities reported the lack of possibility for children to eat regular meals outside their facilities. Nearly 1/4 of the child care facilities, in addition to providing nutrition, also covered children with nutritional education in the form of various activities. The program was well appreciated by the institutions. In order to improve the organization and implementation of nutrition for children in care and educational institutions, it is necessary not only to educate employees on nutrition, but also to introduce a system of appropriate financial support, enabling the purchase of necessary kitchen equipment, as well as financing well-balanced meals for children in needs.
Celem badania była ocena organizacji i realizacji żywienia dzieci w placówkach oświaty (n=303) uczestniczących w programie Żółty Talerz (ŻT) w latach 2018-2019. Badanie zostało zrealizowane w styczniu 2019 roku na terenie całego kraju z wykorzystaniem ankiety przeprowadzonej drogą internetową wypełnianej on-line metodą CAWI (ang. Computer Assisted Web Interview). Ankieta obejmowała 42 pytania, w tym pytania na temat: placówki oświaty, dzieci uczęszczających do tej placówki, organizacji i realizacji żywienia w placówce oraz postrzegania programu ŻT. Łącznie w badanych placówkach posiłki spożywało 859 dzieci, w tym 426 otrzymywało posiłki w ramach programu ŻT. W 7 na 10 placówek nie notowano innych niż ŻT programów mających na celu wsparcie systemu pomocy żywienia dzieci. 4 na 10 placówek dysponowało własną kuchnią; w przypadku 1/3 ich wyposażenie nie odpowiadało jednak bieżącym potrzebom. Wśród braków wskazywano drobny sprzęt AGD, jak również lodówki, kuchenki czy piece konwekcyjne. W ramach programu ŻT co 3 placówka otrzymywała pełne dofinansowanie jednego posiłku, natomiast co 5 - pełne finansowanie kosztów żywienia dziecka; dotacja najczęściej przeznaczona była na finasowanie obiadów. W 41% placówek były obecne dzieci regularnie zgłaszające uczucie głodu. Jednocześnie prawie 3/4 placówek raportowało brak możliwości spożywania przez dzieci regularnych posiłków poza ich placówką. Blisko 1/4 placówek oprócz realizacji żywienia objęła dzieci również edukacją żywieniową w formie różnorodnych działań. Program był dobrze oceniany przez placówki. W celu poprawy organizacji i realizacji żywienia dzieci w placówkach opiekuńczo-wychowawczych konieczna jest nie tylko edukacja żywieniowa pracowników, ale również system odpowiedniego wsparcia finansowego, umożliwiającego zakup niezbędnego wyposażenia kuchni, jak również finansowanie dobrze zbilansowanych posiłków potrzebującym dzieciom.
