Opis:
Current legal studies curricula in Poland are still “analogue”, academic teachers themselves are still largely “analogue”, and students and articling students live in a different world: they are “digital natives”, in other words, “homo zappiens”, meaning “constantly clicking”. On the other hand, curricula and programmes are saturated almost exclusively with legal doctrines, but the market needs law graduates in economy, also with the knowledge of market, business and enterprise opinion principles, including special soft skills, completely different from those required for centuries in courts. The author presents arguments for the necessary reform of legal studies in connection with the above phenomena.

Opis:
Theoretical background: The growing scope of virtualisation of consumer behaviour and the emergence of new business models associated with it has caused changes in the approach to the processes of the competing and management of company resources. This is accompanied by the growing importance of the customer in each stage of the value management process. In this context, a question is raised concerning the significance of marketing resources in the processes of competing between enterprises. At the same time, it should be noted that nowadays, marketing is becoming one of the business functions associated to the highest possible extent with information technology. These changes are demonstrated by the creation of a new managerial specialisation, i.e. a manager for marketing technologies who creates the technological image of marketing development. The objective of the management in the sphere of marketing technologyis to create the value spiral, in which what is possible in the sphere of technology will be an inspiration for what is indicated in the sphere of marketing, and vice versa.Purpose of the article: The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate the signifiance of marketing resources, with a special focus on marketing knowledge, in the processes of competing between enterprises in the era of new media.Research methods: The paper is based on the analysis of secondary sources, the basis of which are in-depth studies of the literature in the sphere of marketing and new media, reports from research concerning digitalisation on a micro and macro scale, and consequences resulting from these processes.Main findings: The conducted survey of the literature indicates that marketing resources play a vital role in the processes of competing between enterprises. It further demonstrates that categories such as marketing knowledge, brand and relationships with entities of the environment are characterised by limited substitutability, the imperfect ability to be imitated and big value. Therefore, according to the resource theory, enterprises determine the gaining of competitive advantage by an entity. At the same time, new information and communication technologies are having an increasingly bigger impact on the growth of marketing resources. This is especially notable in the area of the enhancement of relationships with customers or marketing knowledge management, because new technologies find application at the stage of acquisition, popularisation and application of knowledge in the processes of marketing decision-making, which are translated into a competitive position achieved by the entity. Furthermore, the relationship between marketing and new technologies is expressed in terms of the increase of the scope of product individualisation and marketing communication.

Opis:
The article deals with the normative patterns of communication of judges in a theoretical perspective. Their identification is thus taken as a universal problem, occurring in all legal cultures and regardless of current disputes concerning them. It is assumed that normative patterns of communication among judges are built on the understanding of the role of the judge and the place of the judiciary within checks and balances. Based on the assumption that the role of judges and the status of the judiciary have evolved, three successive historical models of judicial communication were proposed, i.e. the first model – impersonal, the second – self restrained, and the third – accurate communication. The thesis was also put forward that the last of the models may prove to be inadequate in the face of contemporary challenges, resulting primarily from cultural changes driven by the development of new communication technologies.

Analysis of party websites was one of the popular research fields of political communication in the 1990s. It was an interesting question as to how politics and the Internet are becoming connected to one another. However, with the appearance of Web 2.0, these surveys have become pointless, since the emphasis has moved to websites supporting the emergence of online communities. Research of Hungarian party websites has not yet been completed. Adapting to this new trend, researchers have begun to turn their attention to a completely new field of investigation. This study makes an attempt to analyse the changes in the informative and interactive functions of Hungarian party websites on the basis of three different eras (the 1990s, the mid-2000s and the present). Finally, with an international comparison, it evaluates the situation of websites in 2010.

Media and communication are subjects which are closely related. For quite some time in each public debate references are made to an increasing dependence between media and communication processes. Explicit attention is paid to a changing context of the communication process, and especially the process of political communication. The role of media in the process of public communication is, on the one hand, quite traditional; that is to inform the public, popularize information and mobilize citizens to action, all in the name of the public good. On the other hand, it is also noticeable that modern media play new roles such as providers of entertainment, scandals, sensation, enjoyment. All this brings a question: which of these functions tell us about the future of the media, and – consequently – how do they change the process of political communication in the public sphere? And is this what we want?

Opis:
This paper studies the cooperation of theology in the new evangelization in societies of ancient Christian tradition which are suffering an advanced process of secularization. It begins with Spain, where a recent debate on the influence of Christian intellectuals on social life suggests the ineffectiveness of ecclesiastical resources in transmitting the rich Catholic doctrinal heritage. Then the author deals with the idiosyncrasy of contemporary man, which lies near the one of the immediate future’s man: an uprooted subject who does not believe that life has any meaning, is deeply marked by emotivism and attaches little significance to truth. The theology of tomorrow cannot feed this emotivism but must be proactive in its own way. The proclamation of the Gospel is not different from the exposition of the Church’s doctrine. To detach evangelization from the teaching of Christian doctrine cannot help the encounter with Christ. In order to succeed in transmitting this doctrine by making it suggestive, theologians should work together with experts in communication.

In this study I explore the use (and the non-use) of ICTs in the broad survey on their use by modern social movements, providing data on the demographics of the movements and their activists worldwide, and on the use (and non-use) of the ICTs. Based on four online surveys (including international, local US and Polish), data on distribution of social movement organizations, age of organizations and activists, numbers of activists and supporters, and organization goals are presented. Analysis of the diffusion and use of specific new ICTs follows. The research questions revolve around the blurring boundaries between members and non-members (unofficial supporters and volunteers) and the specifics of the use of new media (by whom and for what) with particular focus on the importance of organizational and membership age. The findings with regards to the use of modern ICTs show the success (wide diffusion and estimates of empowerment) of email, static websites, phones and social networking, contrasted with the relatively poor performance of blogs, podcats and online petitions on the social movement scene.

The purpose of this article is to provide a theoretical framework for the contemporary process of political communication. It emphasizes the changing roles of the senders/receivers within the process and it postulates unprecedented opportunities offered by the emergence of the New Media. As for the empirical research, we discuss the results of the study that has been conducted to further the understanding of how the younger generation, aged 20-25 (herein referred to as Digital Natives), process and comprehend the news media content, with special attention to political messages. It was initially hypothesized that the main source of information about politics and the surrounding world is the Internet and the social media in particular. The paper discusses the results of the study showing that the alternative news websites and social media, understood as the opposite to what is known as the mainstream media, have been gaining ground. Concurrently, the study discovered the students’ declining interest in traditional institutional mainstream-controlled media (i.e. press, radio or television).

Emotions have re-emerged as a central topic of sociological interest, especially today, in a complex social and political historical moment. Even politics and events narration is not exempt from the emotional compartment. New technologies and social media (including social networks) have changed communication, relationship processes, and social interaction, moving from a vertical to a horizontal narrative. We live in a “platform society” (Van Dijck, 2018) as online sites and social networks specialized for discussion were also come up with the organization of decision-making processes and the activation of democratic practices in their different “onlife” manifestations. However, one thing should be emphasized: platforms reproduce the social structures in which individuals live between participation, freedom of expression and the elaboration of public political debate. The article aims to synthetically reconstruct the sociological discourse on emotions in political discourse and social narrative and communication through traditional and new media.

A detailed area of analysis is the R&D sector. Institutions from this sector have to adapt their activities to the requirements of the environment by using the concept of relationship marketing and the concept of customer value management. In the work secondary sources of information in form of specialist publications, research results of specialized agencies and the results of the author’s own research were used. Moreover, the work includes two examples presenting the models of functioning on the R&D market, based on modern organization and marketing solutions.

Contemporary time, interpreted by the prism of security, is no longer dominated by easy to describe inter-state conflicts or regional threats. Experts every now and then define new types of threats such as cybercrime, cyberterrorism or cyberwar. The intense and multi-level uncertainty affects the understanding of the present and the predicted future, and thus the search for security by all of us. The answer depends in part on whether we are able to understand contemporary security environment. These issues are, to my mind, independent of the place in which we are. Using tools for diagnosing and monitoring security remains an open question. At the moment we are searching for a solution to this problem by means of modern technologies. The paper stresses the importance and application of e.g. Internet technology and global telecommunication. Interpersonal relations are being replaced with technological solutions. Nowadays, a phone or a computer connected to the web is sufficient to make contact with another person or check what information official sources are bringing us today. Actions for security as a result of incorrect reception of a message may be associated with erroneous perception of the content and propaganda. As a result, the recipient is consciously manipulated. New technologies take the form of nonconventional, organized activities for security. Any number of people can cooperate through the web for security management without actual superior authority. Members of such groups, established ad hoc, may use their knowledge to express objections or dissatisfaction. The paper also presents another aspect of using technology. According to the author, there are situations in which technologies acting for reinforcing security often cause objection, motivated by restricting civil freedoms and by the threat of an attack on a free and open society.
