Opis:: The work concerns Giovanni Battista Bassani’s output and its reception with particular emphasis on manuscripts preserved in a collection from parish church in Grodzisk Wielkopolski. The oeuvre of this composer has been preserved to a huge amount until today—there are 441 manuscripts and 67 prints preserved in 287 copies. The article consists of two parts. The first chapter presents a list of the works written by the composer that was created using the RISM database with special attention of Polish sources. In addition, a list of sources identified as the transmission of Bassani’s output is presented. The second part of the article characterises the composer’s works preserved in the collection from parish church in Grodzisk Wielkopolski.

Opis:: The library of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk holds a wealth of materials that give insight into the reception of Italian music in northern Europe. Sources from the last decades of the 16th and early 17th century that constitute the evidences of Andrea and Giovanni Gabrielis reception in Gdańsk are presented. The sources in question originated from St Bartholomew’s and St Mary’s church libraries, and also from the private music collection of the Gdańsk patrician Georg Knoff. Among music prints there are examples of secular and sacred vocal music, while the repertoire of the manuscripts is limited to religious compositions. The article presents past research conducted by different scholars and published in a variety of places, as well as makes a number of small contributions to the research in its field.

Opis:: Recent research into the manuscript Napoli, Biblioteca Nazionale, VI.E.40 (I-Nn 40) has led to the identification of the coat of arms present at the end of the manuscript, and to a new updated codicological description. The same coat of arms is present also in a 1476 printed book of Pliny the Elder’s Historia Naturalis belonging to the rather obscure de Janly family of Burgundy, made up of courtiers and civil servants, ennobled in the first half of the fifteenth century. Discussed in this article are three members of the de Janly family who might have been the original owner of I-Nn 40, with Philibert de Janly identified as the most plausible candidate. The historical context of ownership and gift-giving typical of Burgundian courtiers of the new nobility is discussed, as well as manuscript’s donation to Beatrice of Aragon, and its history after it left Burgundy. The article also presents a new codicological description of the manuscript, offering new insights into its preparation and the copying process.
Ostatnie badania nad rękopisem VI E 40 z Biblioteca Nazionale z Neapolu (I-Nn 40) doprowadziły do identyfikacji herbu znajdującego się na końcu księgi oraz do zaktualizowania jej opisu kodykologicznego. Ten sam herb znajduje się na egzemplarzu druku Historia Naturalis Pliniusza Starszego z 1476 r., który należał do mało znanej burgundzkiej rodziny de Janly, nobilitowanej w I poł. XV wieku. Wywodzili się z niej dworzanie i urzędnicy – trzech z nich przedstawiono w artykule, jako potencjalnych pierwszych właścicieli rękopisu I-Nn 40, uznając Philiberta de Janly za najbardziej prawdopodobnego kandydata. Omówiono historyczne konteksty stojące za posiadaniem i przekazywaniem prezentów przez nobilitowanych dworzan burgundzkich, zwracając szczególną uwagę na rękopis I-Nn 40 z mszami L’homme armé podarowany królowej węgierskiej Beatrycze Aragońskiej, a także na jego historię po opuszczeniu Burgundii. Artykuł przedstawia również aktualny opis kodykologiczny księgi, umożliwiający nowe spojrzenie na jego powstanie i proces kopiowania.
