Acoustic emission analysis is defined as a passive, non-destructive investigation method, which only listens for AEwaves (AEW), generated actively by an object of interest. Therefore, the AEW must have the possibility to propagate from their source to an acoustic emission sensor (AES). By virtue of the piezoelectric effect, the AEW transmitted into electrical signals inside of the AES. During the analysation of these electrical signals we earn –online– information about the object of interest, e.g. the operating characteristic of a machine or the strength of the friction of a tribolocical system. To enable the AEW to propagate into the AES, the sensor has to be fixed suitable onto the object of interest. Hereby has to be strictly respected, that the sensor is fixed in a reproducible mechanical way as well as to ensure that the through-transmission has a weak attenuation (couplant). Standard AES have the shape of a circular cylinder (diameter and height depend on the operation purpose), the AEW pass through one of the frontends into the sensor. The objects of interest can have different geometry of the surface (e.g. plane, cylindrical, unspecific) or temperatures which usually conflicting the operating range of the sensor. Depending on the operational purpose, there are many different couplants to use. This article offers help to master the different connecting challenges within the range of acoustic emission analysis.

In this article, the author focused on the two main issues. Firstly, the assembly phase of the new type of electric brake prototype was described and secondly author introduced the initial tests of individual components. The assembly phase of the new prototype of the electric brake was very significant. In this stage, the parts were fitted and mounted. The new functionality of new type prototype was checked and the designing was verified. If there were some mounting problems this was proper time to correct the dimensions and exchange parts. Sometimes the materials or even or heat treatment of some part were exchanged. In that kind of prototype, it was really important to check electric parts like motors during the load. The most important issue was to find the best solution. The motors weight should have been as small as possible and the nominal torque should have been enough for normal working of prototype. In the initial tests of individual components, the real parameters were tested and possibility of using the parts was checked too. During designing phase, the parameters were defined and the tests results gave the answers for the possibility of real working on the object. The most important parameters there were the motors parameters and the possibility of mechanism force transmission.

It is hard to imagine that after Japan’s miracle post-war growth it would go on to suffer more than two decades of stagnation. Although there have been some short-lived periods of recovery, such as in 1995-96, the average growth rate over the period of 1991-2014 was a mere 1%. Despite historically low interest rates and a series of fiscal stimuli, the growth has not revived. Despite the long economic stagnation, Japan still retains its strength in many areas. Its human and physical capital formations are among the highest in the world. The volume it spends on research and development is equally impressive. It still has world-leading firms and modern technologies. The methodology to be followed here is derived from the aims of the study and comparisons of international statistics provide the main means of addressing the research questions and the objectives of this paper. The study concludes that the neoliberal ‘market-centred’ policies have brought inequality, stagnation, and fiscal crisis to the state. Therefore, a radical critical political economy is required to analyse the situation more objectively, one which would mean increased levels of welfare and people-led measures

The installation of a machine gun on board a helicopter requires designing the rigid and durable frame for mounting a machine gun. Additionally there should be considered the limit to the weight of the structure, which forces the payload of a helicopter. The paper presents the overview of frames for mounting firing positions as well as selected cases of strength tests. In most of them the attention in the description was paid to the frames created through the cooperation of the Institute of Aviation and Military Aviation Plant No. 1 in Łódź. The aspects of research on firing positions on the example of a selected frame are also discussed. Furthermore, there is presented the prototype of the mounting frame WLKM (multi-barreled aircraft machine gun) designed by the Institute of Aviation (in the co-operation with Zaklady Mechaniczne Tarnów) with some chosen results of the FEM analyses.

This communication reports on the concerns associated with possible generation of galvanic coupling effects for construction materials that are used to manufacture mounting assemblies for ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) power stations. For this purpose, six macro-corrosion galvanic cells were assembled, including: hot-dip Zn/Magnelis®-coated steel/Al and stainless steel (SS)/Al cells. Corrosion experiments involved continuous, ca. three-month exposure of these couplings in 3 wt.% NaCl solution, conducted at room temperature for a stable pH value of around 8. All corrosion cells were subjected to regular assessment of galvanic current-density and potential parameters, where special consideration was given to compare the corrosion behaviour of Zn-coated steel samples with that of Magnelis®-coated electrodes. Characterization of surface condition and elemental composition for examined materials was carried-out by means of SEM and EDX spectroscopy techniques.

This article presents the results of a simulation, testing the variation of main bearing loads and strains in crankshafts caused by geometrical deviations of the bearing system to justify the necessity and purposefulness of measurements of both the shape and axes position deviations of crankshaft journals. Measurements of these deviations at the existing level of applied measuring techniques are significantly limited. The research also accentuates the practical implementation of a measuring system equipped with the so-called flexible support system for the measured object, developed at the Maritime University of Szczecin. This system makes it possible to eliminate elastic deformations of the crankshaft due to its own weight, whereby the measurements of geometrical deformations of the crankshafts can be carried out with appropriate accuracy in conditions corresponding to the non-reference measurements when determining the object measured in counterpoints. The obtained results have fully confirmed the purposefulness of the conducted research and the validity of the theses.

The paper presents results of studies pertaining to evaluation of a quality (compressive strength of mounting the implant within the bone) of mounting the implant mandrel within the osseous tissue for various relevant techniques. The presented results are related to selected techniques of mounting the implant mandrel within a bone. The comparison has been carried out for cement-less mandrels with a smooth mandrel of the endoprosthesis, porous cementless endoprostheses as well as mandrels made of bioactive materials.

The crankshaft is liable to deformation due to inaccurate positioning of its main journals in the bearings. This article presents results of simulated tests of such deformations. The test results and methods for the verification of crankshaft mounting in the main bearings are assessed. A new method of measurement of crankweb deformations is proposed, the so called symmetric method, that allows the correct assessment of the condition of the crankshaft mounting in the bearings.

Opis:
Wind is such an element of sea environment, from which it is relatively easy to obtain energy. Wind parameters over both seas and oceans are more favorable than those on land (due to variability of landform features). Moreover, also sea wind turbines exercise comparatively smaller negative effect on people than on land. Therefore, sea wind farms are ahead of us, as further development of wind energy. The article presents basic parameters of wind turbines, possible installations on sea bed, as well as future designs of large floating sea farms. The article presents also an example of design analyses of wind turbine, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

The article presents the analysis of the influence of various fixtures of the Y-axis slide of the CMX 70U machining center measured in a coordinate measuring machine. As a result of a series of measurements of the designated geometric features, specific deviations were determined, and statistical calculations were performed on their basis. The further part of the article shows the analysis of the theoretical body deflection under the influence of the force of gravity performed using the MES method in CREO Simulate.

Opis:
The article is devoted to particularly important contemporary problems, namely usage of energy-saving and ecological materials in load-bearing structures of buildings. This issue is discussed in the paper in respect of floor slabs. We propose to combine traditional materials (concrete and steel reinforcement) with energy--efficient material (non-autoclaved foamed concrete) in floor slabs structure. It is assumed that employment of precast-monolithic reinforced concrete floor slab with usage of non-autoclaved foamed concrete can afford to decrease dead weight of floor and foundation loading, and to guarantee good thermal and acoustic insulation between storeys.
Artykuł poświęcony jest szczególnie ważnym problemom współczesności, a mianowicie zastosowaniu energooszczędnych i ekologicznych materiałów budowlanych. Problemy te odnoszą się w prezentowanym artykule do płyt stropowych. Proponuje się połączenie w konstrukcji płyt stropowych materiałów tradycyjnych (beton zwykły i pręty zbrojeniowe) z materiałem energooszczędnym (nieautoklawizowanym pianobetonem). Zakłada się, że zastosowanie stropowych płyt prefabrykowano-monolitycznych z wykorzystaniem nieautoklawizowanego pianobetonu pozwoli zmniejszyć całkowity ciężar stropu i obciążenie fundamentu, zapewnić dobrą izolacyjność cieplną i akustyczną pomiędzy piętrami.

The paper presents some general features of the MODAPTS (Modular Arrangement of Predetermined Time Standards) method and its application in the warping process during making fabrics. The labour of the worker in extra warping jobs was analysed by means of the movements and load and the MODAPTS method was used to analyse the efficiency of the operator’s movements. This workplace was chosen for the analysis because it requires manual work where the body moves continuously and is subjected to exceptional loads; in most cases female workers perform these jobs. By use of the MODAPTS method every body movement and body part were analysed. The improvement was investigated by using a special transportation cart which can lift or lower bobbins to the height of the mounting of supply packages in a creel and carrying several bobbins at the same time. According to the results obtained and innovative solutions that can be applied as an additional tool, an easier, safer and more efficient work procedure for the same scope of work was obtained.
W artykule przedstawiono ogólne właściwości systemu MODAPTS i jego zastosowanie w procesie snucia przy produkcji tkanin. Przeanalizowano prace obsługi podczas snucia na podstawie ruchów i obciążeń. Zagadnienie to jest ważne m.in. dlatego, że pracownikami są na ogół kobiety. Udoskonalenia badano stosując specjalne wózki transportowe, które mogą podnosić i opuszczać nawoje aż do poziomu ramy natykowej. Na podstawie wyników badań opracowano system, który jest bezpieczniejszy, łatwiejszy do stosowania i bardziej wydajny.
