Opis:
This paper presents the results of the tests performed during the grinding process of the ceramic materials: - polycrystalline ceramics (Zirconium ZrO2) and mono-crystalline ceramics (sapphire -Al2O3) by the diamond tools. Studies have shown that the concentration (thickening) of the tool composite changes the tool’s pore structure when using suitable wetted adamantine additives. Such modified composite has positive impact on tribological properties of the subsurface layer of the machined components. This is manifested by the reduction of the surface roughness and reduction of the vibration amplitude of the coefficient of friction. The possibilities of the positive effects when using wetted additives on the tool’s composite during the pressing (briquetting) stage confirm the study results.

Opis:
In the paper nonconventional linear equations of state filtration are derived. They are useful for some two-level hierarchical control system structure with coordinator and local controllers having different information. It is assumed that the system considered is described by a linear output equation and a linear state equation with control being a random variable for the coordinator generated by decision rules of the local controllers. The approach to state filtration is based on modified innovations and orthogonality principle. A simple numerical example is presented.

In this paper the impact of carbonate-containing and sulfate components, zeolite, polypropylene fibers on the properties of modified binding composition and non-autoclaved aerated concrete based on them is investigated. The aerated concrete based on the modified binding composition containing a supplementary cementitious material, that of carbonate-containing salt waste, reinforced with polypropylene fibers is characterized by the compressive strength of 2.7 MPa with the density of 650 kg/m3. The thickness of partitions between pores is 0.16 – 0.21 mm, and the number of pores with the size 0.2-1.0 mm is 76.4%.

Opis:
The highlight model is widely used as a simple and convenient method in the radar field but its accuracy is not high. Based on the traditional highlight model, the algorithm has been improved to address the acoustic scattering problems of underwater vehicles with more complex line shapes. The basic idea is to partition the model into micro-bodies to calculate the scattered sound pressure, consider the phase interference of each part, and then synthesise the scattered sound pressure to approximate the target’s actual shape. A computational model of the wedge-shaped convex structure on the back of the underwater vehicles is developed using a highlight model of a trapezoidal plate. The results of the calculations using the highlight model approach are consistent with those of the planar element method. Utilising the modified highlight model method, the accuracy of acoustic scattering characteristics calculations for the stern and overall structures of underwater vehicles has proven satisfactory. Finally, fast acoustic scattering prediction software is developed for underwater vehicles, enabling the calculation of the acoustic scattering characteristics for individual structures, combined structures, and coated silent tiles. This software provides algorithmic support for the fast prediction of the acoustic stealth performance of underwater vehicles.

Opis:
The paper presents two methods of solving the problem of the dynamics of a frame structure with viscoelastic bonds in nodes. In the first approach, known from the literature, two-node beam elements with three degrees of freedom in each node were used. Exact shape functions were adopted to obtain a stiffness matrix, a consistent mass matrix and a damping matrix for the beam element. These matrices were then modified by introducing rotational viscoelastic constraints at the boundary nodes. In the second approach, a new method of modelling viscoelastic bonds in frame structures was proposed. It consists in removing rigid bonds between elements along selected degrees of freedom and replacing them with a new, additional element with viscoelastic properties. This approach allows the use of any rheological model to describe viscoelastic bonds (i.e. an additional element) without the need to create a new modified finite element. In this work, an advanced rheological model, i.e. the fractional Kelvin model, was used to describe rotational viscoelastic bonds. The use of fractional derivatives to describe the damping properties reduces the number of parameters needed in the model, but leads to a non-linear eigenproblem. In order to solve the eigenvalue problem, the continuation method was used, and the dynamic characteristics of the structure were determined on the basis of the calculated eigenvalues. Selected structures with viscoelastic nodes were analyzed and the obtained results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Opis:
Innovative procedure of microalloying continuous cast aluminum strip, thickness 10 mm, by Be, Zr and Mn using 3C Pechiney technology (no. 39762, P-377/76), and modifying the existing parameters for strip casting and crystallization was implemented under industrial conditions with two randomly selected batches 2×8 tones, without previous selection of standardized quality of aluminum, purity Al 99.5%, obtained by electrolysis. The application of microalloying and overall structural modification of the technology resulted in obtaining nanoscale, ultra-thin, compact oxide high-gloss film with uniform surface of continuous cast strip, instead of the usual thick and porous oxide film. The outcome of microalloying the obtained equiaxed fine-grained nano/micro structure was avoiding anisotropic and dendritic microstructure of the strip, and improving deformation and plastic properties of modified continuous cast strip subjected to the technology of plastic treatment by rolling until the desired foil thickness of 9 μm was obtained. The invention of microalloying and structural modification, including multiplying effect of several components, directly or indirectly, changed numerous structurally-sensitive properties. The obtained nano/micro structure of crystal grains with equiaxed structure resulted in the synergy of undesirable <111> and inevitable <100> and <110> textures. Numerous properties were significantly enhanced: elastic modulus was improved, and intensive presence of cracks in warm forming condition was prevented due to rapid increase of the number of grains to 10000 grains/cm2 in as-cast state.

Opis:
The work presents results of research on the influence of micro materials on the thermal conductivity λ of gypsum. In the research, cellulose-based polymer and aerogel were used as the modifying micro materials. For the purpose of measuring the thermal conductivity, a non-stationary method was used based on the “hot wire method”. A very precise set of devices for measuring and recording the temperature of the heating wire was used. In the presented solution, a single measurement took only one minute. Measurements were recorded with the help of a computer measuring system, with a sampling time of 0.01s. During the 60-second-long test, 6000 measurements of the heating wire temperature were collected. A decrease of the thermal conductivity and density of hardened gypsum with added micro materials was observed due to modifications of the structure of the final product. Experimental values of the thermal conductivity of the gypsum specimens with the addition of polymer and aerogel were respectively over 23% and 6% lower than the non-modified gypsum specimen.
Podczas 60-sekundowego testu zebrano 6000 pomiarów temperatury drutu grzejnego.
