The article is one of several articles summarizing research carried out with a group of foreign students who come to Poland to participate in the Erasmus+ program. Method and research group: Research has been taking place since 2016 and is conducted using an interactive Google survey. The study group consists of 128 people aged 18 to 25 years. The respondents chose Poland, specifically the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, in order to complete a semester or an academic year. This article will also present structured interviews that were conducted with foreign students. Aim of the study: To learn about the attitude of foreign students towards modern teaching methods (e-learning). An additional goal was to verify the knowledge regarding this method of education and to compare Poland with the respondents’ home countries. Results: The respondents come from European countries such as Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, as well as, Braziland India. Most of them appreciate the possibilities of e-learning (87%). Over half of the respondents (62%) say that in Poland distance learning was rather not implemented until 2020. What changed this situation was the coronavirus outbreak. In social sciences, they also appreciate the possibility of classes in the traditional form due to the possibility of participating in workshops and specialist training, or giving presentations.

Opis:
In this article, I present partial results of my research, conducted as part of the project entitled Introducing students aged 12-17 to solving computer-based tasks. Research shows that the vast majority of teachers are merely pretending to conduct modern teaching when making use of computer-based tasks during mathematics lessons. In reality, their lessons are typical and conservative, dominated by frontal work and methods based on knowledge transfer. Most often, lessons feature selected-response questions used to verify the student's knowledge, rarely implementing tasks which require the student to experiment by making use of a computer screen. This situation is caused by multiple factors, including: teachers' views on the place and role of using IT resources for teaching mathematics, insufficient number of computers, tablets, and smartphones in schools, not enough computer-based mathematical tasks with a significant didactic value, insufficient competence of teachers, outdated external exam system, incorrect teacher evaluation system.
W artykule przedstawiam częściowe wyniki badań, prowadzonych w ramach projektu pt. Wdrażanie uczniów w wieku 12-17 lat do rozwiązywania zadań w wersji komputerowej.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore why and how generational changes and modern ICT have contributed to the development of didactic methods used by academic teachers in the field of teaching information and communication technologies (ICT). Design/methodology/approach: In-depth interviews were conducted with academic teachers who have been working at a university for 10 to 20 years. They do classes for full-time and part-time students, teaching mainly science subjects. Findings: This article clarifies why and how generational changes and modern ICT have contributed to the development of educational methods used by academic teachers. The article describes three generations of students: X, Y, Z, which are currently undertaking intramural and extramural studies. The report contains an analysis of the results of research concerning the work of contemporary academic teachers in terms of educational methods, teaching materials, methods of communication with students, evaluation, and control methods. The conclusions provided answers to the research questions. Research limitations/implications: The article presents the results of qualitative research, which allowed us to initially determine the characteristics of the phenomenon of generational changes and its influence on the methods of teaching used. In the next stage of the research, the authors intend to conduct surveys among academic teachers and students to explore this topic from the point of view of quantitative analysis. Originality/value: This study indicated that generational changes had transformed the teaching and working methods of academic teachers. However, this transformation does not mean the complete abandonment of previously used teaching methods, but their enrichment with new techniques related to ICT and social media.

Opis:
Inviting very young learners to a gallery of modern art does not seem as an obvious didactic solution. Some may argue that children are not able to interpret modern art, and, therefore, it is not possible to use such a medium as a teaching tool. However, it all depends on the pedagogical approach and the way art is implemented during classes.            This article starts with an overview of definitions of very young learners, defining this group not only in terms of their age, but also characteristic traits. It is also to justify the use of modern art-cued visual materials as a component of language teaching and to ponder upon using elements of artistic creation to foreign language classrooms. The practical implementation of a presented solution is also discussed in the article. The ideas were used as workshops aimed at introducing very young learners to modern art as well as at acquiring new English vocabulary. Classes were carried out in one of the modern art galleries in Lublin. An example of chosen artwork and pieces created by a very young learner are shown in this article. Finally, the opportunities arising from implementing the new methodology are analysed. They are connected with linguistic development, improvement of young learners’ skills, as well as developing intercultural competence.

Security of a society is related to the level of its health which largely depends on the level of professional education of medical staff whose task is to help a person in life-threatening situations. Life-threatening situations include among others acute cardiac failure or renal failure. One of the methods to improve health condition of patients with these medical problems is intravenous treatment with dopamine administered by an infusion pump. Medical staff is responsible for proper programming of a pump so that it gives a patient the appropriate dose. Introduction of modern technology to training programme can facilitate the process of learning how to programme an automatic infusion pump. The article describes an example of a simple computer programme created on the basis of free software which is GeoGebra and shared as HTML pages. The prepared learning resource does not require from its receivers any programming skills or special software.

Opis:
According to ideas which have been presented in main course books and methodological guides, a lack of Ancient Greek in the process of teaching Modern Greek Philology has occurred. It could be a problem if Modern Greek philologists decide to be translators and interpreters of legal texts because the Greek language of law has archaisms, rigid structures and elements. My project deals with the function and amount of Ancient Greek in the curiculume of studies of Modern Greek Philology. I conclude that it is impossible to avoid Ancient Greek in the curriculum of Modern Greek Philology completely. I show the necessity of the Ancient Greek language because present Greek grammar and dictionaries cannot offer any insight in this field. Analysis of the curriculum affects the Modern Greek Language and Literature Department at Adam Mickiewicz University. The research material concludes with selected parts of Greek and Cypriot statutory acts which also affect the aforementiones issues.
W oparciu o koncepcje, jakie są obecne w głównych podręcznikach i materiałach metodologicznych podczas studiów w zakresie filologii nowogreckiej, brakuje w nich obecności języka starogreckiego.

Greater emphasis must be placed on activities that promote innovative teaching methods in early childhood mathematics education in Poland. Our classrooms offer algorithmic and rote teaching methods, depriving students of important elements of successful mathematics learning. The aim of this action research was to investigate the relationship between a classroom environment that allows for dialogue and discovery and young children’s input into problem solving. Teaching six classes of elementary school within one academic year gave the author the opportunity to examine how dialogic teaching combined with a growth mindset approach can transform the attainment of knowledge, understanding and skills of learners, and how modern practices like number talks, solving open-ended tasks and group work can unleash students’ potential and activate them as thinkers and reasoners. The results confirmed that students who are challenged and offered concept-based learning opportunities not only genuinely engage in their tasks, but also help each other with deeper understanding of the concepts. They can cooperate with teachers in the creation of a new classroom in which students’ voices are heard and discoveries take place.

The data for it, gathered during 2005-2009, come from a data pool consisting of 18 video-recorded EFL lessons of both lower secondary and upper secondary Chinese students, with their English levels ranging from lower intermediate to upper-intermediate. Li's findings are of tripartite character and suggest that: 1) “language classrooms are complex social and discourse communities”, 2) “it is the teacher who manages the turn-taking and -giving in such classroom discourse” and, finally 3) “thinking activities can be identified by examining the role of language in classroom activities”.

Sustainable development, in all of its aspects, is possible to be achieved only thanks to properly planned and effectively implemented formal, informal and non-formal education. In this context, what teachers know about sustainable development, to what extend they know its assumptions and demands, and how they implement these assumptions in their everyday school practice is extremely important. I will present the results of research concerning teachers' knowledge regarding education for sustainable development, the didactic methods and forms which they apply while implementing the didactic process for sustainable development.

Apart from presenting theoretical information on the notion of a letter and the concept of effectiveness in language education, the following account also provides insight into letter-based practical activities and identifies some consequences of their application in EFL classes. It delineates the opinions of secondary school students who, in an anonymous questionnaire, expressed their views on the letter activities offered to them in their lessons. Their opinions provide evidence in support of the content and concepts distinguished and discussed in the theoretical part of this paper.
