    Population aging has become an increasingly severe problem in recent years. Based on the diversity of the mobile functions, and the advanced mobile technology, the elders might use the modern mobile to get the conveniences of the elder’s living. In our study, 34 senior citizens in the UK, and 56 persons in Taiwan, students of the Evergreen Elder University, answered the questions. The compared results showed that the factor of personal or family dependence and technology dependence are dominant in the UK, but the factors of personal or family dependence and social dependence are dominant in Taiwan. Elders’ education will be a hot topic of education because of the increasing population of elders. The key variables, i.e. demographic, social, psychological, and technological ones, are satisfied to be the growth of elders’ education in many developed and developing countries. Based on the duties and resources of the religions and universities, a diversity of elders’ education can be expected.

    Technology has made its presence felt in various sectors of India’s development in the last twenty years. Communication and information technology, manufacturing industry, transportation, defence and space technologies are some of the important sectors which have incorporated modern technology in various aspects of their development and functioning. Also significant and visible changes have taken place in the consumer products available in the Indian market, most of them imported or locally manufactured by multinational corporations based in India. Do these changes qualify India to be considered as a technologically advanced country, and thereby making technological changes an integral part of the social change process of our society? Or are these developments restricted to certain elitist sections of society with little or negligible trickle-down effect of the knowledge bases of the technology developments? In this study a deconstructivist approach is adopted to analyse some of the processes involved in development and diffusion of technology in a society. With the exception of mobile phone technology it is argued that even though India has strong scientific and technological capabilities, it is emerging as a bigger consumer of technology products than as a producer and innovator of modern technology.

    In alignment with smart city initiatives, Malaysia is shifting its educational landscape to a smart learning environment. The Ministry of Education (MoE) has made History a mandatory subject for passing the Malaysian Certificate of Education to grow awareness and instil patriotism among Malaysian students. However, History has been known as one of the difficult subjects to study for many students. On the other hand, the Malaysian Government Education Blueprint 2013-2025 seeks to “leverage ICT scale up quality learning” across the country. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors that influence the intention to use Augmented Reality (AR) for mobile learning in learning History subject among secondary school students in Malaysia. Quantitative approach has been chosen as the research method for this study. A direct survey was conducted on 400 secondary school students in one of the smart cities in Malaysia as the target respondents. The collected data are analysed through descriptive statistics and Multiple Linear Regression analysis by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Based on the results, the identified factors that influence the intention to use AR for mobile learning in learning History subject are Gender, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Enjoyment, and Attitude Towards Use. The identified factors can be a good reference for schools and teachers to strategize their teaching and learning methods in pertaining to History subject among secondary school students in Malaysia. Future studies may include the study of various types of schools in Malaysia and explore more moderating effects of demographic factors.

    This article attempts to determine the educational nature of “Pokémon Go!” game based on user interactions with virtual space and real-life elements. For this purpose, interviews with players in mini focus groups (mini FGI) were the chosen method. Respondents were asked about their interaction with actual objects that are reflected in the game, how they search for information about the locations themselves, and about the educational content in the game space. The players were also asked for their ideas on how to enhance the educational potential of the game, as such opinion of real-life players was deemed notable. Based on the results obtained, firstly, areas of potential educational value that still need to be improved were identified and, secondly, recommendations were formulated how to enhance the educational opportunities arising from the game.
    W niniejszym tekście skupiono się na próbie określenia edukacyjnego charakteru aplikacji „Pokemon Go!” na podstawie interakcji użytkowników z elementami przestrzeni wirtualnej i rzeczywistej. W tym celu zdecydowano się na przeprowadzenie wywiadów z graczami w minigrupach fokusowych (mini FGI). Zapytano ich o interakcję z rzeczywistymi obiektami odzwierciedlonymi w grze, samodzielne poszukiwanie informacji o odwiedzanych lokalizacjach oraz tworzenie treści edukacyjnych w przestrzeni gry. Graczy zapytano także o ich pomysły na zwiększenie możliwości edukacyjnych „Pokemon Go!”, ponieważ uznano, że warto wykazać opinię użytkowników praktycznie wykorzystujących grę. Na podstawie pozyskanych wyników – po pierwsze – wskazano obszary mogące posiadać potencjał edukacyjny, ale wymagające poprawy, a po drugie – sformułowano propozycje mające na celu zwiększenie możliwości edukacyjnych gry.

    This article discusses the professional careers of foreign scholars in Krakow, one of the leading academic centres in Poland and a regional ‘silicon valley’ (toutes proportions gardées). Central and Eastern Europe is understudied as an immigration region for highly skilled migrants (HSMs). To bridge this gap, we concentrate on three interrelated topics: (a) the perception of Polish science and its infrastructure; (b) careers of international staff employed in Polish academia; and (c) their perception of their achievements in Poland. Foreign scholars come to Poland for various reasons. Two of the most important are the cultural proximity between Poland and their country of origin, and research interests focused directly in Poland. Our findings show that Poland attracts first and foremost scholars with average scientific achievements. We discuss major problems they encounter (e.g., shortage of funds, uncomfortable office space, restricted access to books and papers) and their expectations of life in a semi-periphery country. The paper is mainly based on in-depth interviews with 23 foreign scholars working full time at four universities in Krakow and, as a secondary source, on the analysis of websites of these universities.

    Opis:
    Mobile mini-robots are commonly used for research, education and popularization of science. Often, commercially available mini-robots don't quite fit the characteristics needed for a particular task, and are difficult to adapt since they have proprietary software and hardware. Moreover, they are often quite expensive. In this work we present a relatively low-cost, reconfigurable robot equipped with a wide variety of sensors and enough processing power to allow the on-board execution of intelligent algorithms. We present the complete hardware architecture, and a modularized software architecture that makes full use of hardware interruptions and software processes to have a perfectly timed control of the robot. All these characteristics make the new mobile mini robot ExaBot a very malleable, multi task mini-robot.

    Problem włączenia finansowego stał się w ostatnim czasie przedmiotem troski zarówno rządów, decydentów, organizacji pozarządowych (NGO), jak również instytucji finansowych i niefinansowych na całym świecie. McKinnon (1973) i Shaw (1973) w swoich najważniejszych pracach zwrócili uwagę świata na znaczenie efektywnego systemu finansowego dla rozwoju gospodarczego. W ostatnich latach coraz więcej prac teoretycznych i empirycznych wskazuje na silne związki między rozwojem finansowym a wzrostem gospodarczym i ograniczaniem ubóstwa. Po przeprowadzeniu analizy statystycznej przy użyciu programu Stata w wersji 14 dla systemu Windows z zastosowaniem modelowania wieloczynnikowej binarnej regresji logistycznej (multivariate binary logistic regression modeling), w niniejszym artykule wykazano, że istnieje statystycznie istotny związek między poziomem wykształcenia z jednej strony i poziomem dochodów z drugiej strony, a prawdopodobieństwem posiadania konta bankowości mobilnej przez mieszkańców Afryki Południowej. Z punktu widzenia prowadzenia polityki, informacje te mogą być przydatne decydentom w podejmowaniu bardziej świadomych decyzji dotyczących edukacji, a sektorowi bankowemu mogą pomóc w rozwijaniu produktów, które będą lepiej dostosowane do poziomu wykształcenia i poziomu dochodów ludności.
    Financial inclusion has recently become an issue of concern the world over for governments, policymakers, non‑governmental organizations (NGOs), and financial and non‑financial institutions alike. McKinnon (1973) and Shaw (1973), in seminal presentations, brought the world’s attention to the importance of an effective financial system for economic development. In recent years, there has been growing theoretical and empirical works showing the strong linkages between financial development with economic growth and poverty alleviation. After conducting statistical analysis using Stata version 14 for Windows with a multivariate binary logistic regression modeling technique applied, this paper tested and concluded that there is a statically significant relationship between educational levels on the one‑and and income levels on the other on the probability of one having a mobile banking account in South Africa. From a policy perspective, this information will assist policymakers in making more informed decisions with respect to education, and from the banking fraternity point of view it will help, them in the developments of products that are more in line with the population’s education and income levels.

    In this article I would like to draw attention to the initiative taken by a non-profit organization in the aspect of working with a mobile school tool in relation to the process of upbringing and education of children from risk setting of social maladjustment, supporting the process of formal education. Stimulation to the creation of innovative solutions in favour of undertaking activity towards socially maladjusted persons or persons threatened by social maladjustment results from the crisis of authorities, functioning in the systems of values promoted by liquid modernity and increasing expenditure on preventive and rehabilitation activity. In the research conducted among street educators by means of a narrative interview and observations, I used a model of a constructivist methodology of well-established theory, also using Wiesław Łukaszewski’s theory of information divergence to analyse the research results. The data obtained from the research are concentrated around such categories as: the course of the process of education and upbringing, evaluation of learning progress, catalogue of needs of children from risk setting content of education, upbringing.
    W artykule pragnę zwrócić uwagę na aktywność podejmowaną przez organizację non-profit w aspekcie wychowania i kształcenia dzieci z układu ryzyka (zagrożonych niedostosowaniem społecznym) poprzez wykorzystanie w pracy pedagogicznej narzędzia mobilnej szkoły (mobile school). Stymulowanie do tworzenia innowacyjnych rozwiązań na rzecz pracy z osobami niedostosowanymi społecznie lub zagrożonymi niedostosowaniem społecznym wynika m.in. z kryzysu autorytetów, osłabienia funkcji wychowawczej rodziny i szkoły oraz stałego zwiększania wydatków na działalność profilaktyczną i resocjalizacyjną. W badaniach przeprowadzonych wśród pedagogów ulicy za pomocą wywiadu narracyjnego oraz obserwacji posłużyłam się modelem konstruktywistycznej metodologii teorii ugruntowanej, odwołując się również do teorii rozbieżności informacyjnej Wiesława Łukaszewskiego. Uzyskane dane koncentrują się wokół takich kategorii, jak: przebieg procesu kształcenia i wychowania, ewaluacja postępów w nauce, katalog potrzeb dzieci z układu ryzyka, treści kształcenia i wychowania.

    The article foreground the problem of the Internet usage for information exchange, the search for new knowledge and free access to educational services in the process of obtaining higher education in order to ensure lifelong learning of the individual. The names of domestic scholars having developed the issues of specialists training in higher educational institutions are given as well as the usage of computer technologies in the educational process and the content of training within the educational and professional program “Christian Pedagogy in Higher Education”. The content of the article analyzes the level of elaboration and feasibility of the united system of computer networks for theinformation exchange between scientific and pedagogical workers involved in the educational process and applicants for higher education; research methodology and its objectis determined. The results of given scientific work contain task assignment for future teachers training in Christian pedagogy, the general content of the relevant educational and professional program, the existing informational and educational environment, Internet communication channels. The article represents the essence and gives examples of mobile learning of students using the communication channel- Viber.
    W artykule przedstawiono problematykę użytkowania Internetu w celu wymiany informacji, poszukiwania wiedzy i wolnego dostępu do usług edukacyjnych w procesie zdobywania wyższego wykształcenia w ramach realizacji nauki przez całe życie. Podano nazwiska krajowych naukowców, którzy rozwinęli problematykę szkoleń specjalistów w instytucjach edukacji wyższej. Zaprezentowano także sposób użytkowania technologii komputerowych w procesie edukacyjnym i opisano przebieg szkolenia w ramach edukacyjno-zawodowego programu Pedagogika chrześcijańska w edukacji wyższej. W artykule przeanalizowano stopień opracowania i zastosowania zintegrowanego systemu sieci komputerowej do wymiany informacji pomiędzy naukowcami i pracownikami naukowymi zaangażowanymi w proces edukacyjny oraz kandydatami na studia wyższe; określono metodologię badań i jej przedmiot. Wyniki przedstawionej pracy naukowej zawierają listę zadań dla przyszłych nauczycieli szkolących w zakresie pedagogiki chrześcijańskiej, zasadniczą treść programu edukacyjno-zawodowego, opis istniejącego środowiska informacyjnego i edukacyjnego oraz programów komunikacji internetowej. Artykuł przedstawia istotę i podaje przykłady mobilnej nauki studentów z użyciem komunikatora Viber.
