Opis:
Carissa carandas are important medicinal plants in Tamil Nadu. The entire plant has medicinal values. Carissa carandas plants are used to cure various diseases such as asthma, skin disease, cough, cold and tuberculosis. They usually are prepared as fresh juices rather than boiling water and decoction leaves and flowers of Carissa carandas. The juice from the leaves play an important role in this matter. Usually about 30 ml of the juice is taken thrice a day with honey, acting as relieving agent for irritable cough due to its soothing action on the nerve and by liquefying the sputum, which makes expectoration easier. Carissa carandas are important traditional remedies in Tamil Nadu.

Opis:
The mechanism of floral mutation including double flowers in plant species can be explained by the ABCDE model which represents the relationship between MADS-box transcription factor genes and floral morphogenesis. The ornamental importance of Cyclamen led to the creation of double-flowered cultivars caused by the repression of AG-like gene expression in whorl 3. Modifications in these genes also influence the accumulation of different bioactive compounds depending on species and/or variety. In antiquity, cyclamen plants were recognized for their therapeutic qualities and later gained importance due to their content in saponins, which have been reported to exhibit anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, and also to alleviate symptoms in acute rhinosinusitis patients. Furthermore, the extracts and isolated compounds are used as treatments in a wide range of diseases. In this review, we describe the transcription factors and their role in the development and ABCDE model formation of organs which led to the development of double-petal and fragrant varieties. Additionally, we describe the potential mechanisms of action underlying the therapeutic effects of saponin extracts against cancers and inflammatory disorders and their potential as a pharmacological agent in clinical studies.

Opis:
Introduction: Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. is an annual plant with small flowers in yellow and claret. In dyeing process, a whole range of colours can be obtained using various methods. Objective: The aim of the study was to present a wide range of colors of the little-known plant C. tinctoria. and its health promoting properties. Methods: In our research, we selected 3 types of wool: Polish Merino, Żelaźnieńska, and Polish Lowland Sheep and compared the colours obtained on these wools using 6 dyeing methods. Results: The results indicate that the basic colour of wool influences the intensity of colour after dyeing as well as the type of the used mordant, which determines the obtained colour. A whole range of very intense colours was obtained from very small flowers of C. tinctoria. Conclusions: Flowers are a very good and efficient raw material that gives intense colors on wool. An additional advantage is the plant's health-promoting properties. The plant is still little explored in this respect.
