Opis:
Computer simulation of mass distribution within the model and Fourier transforms of images depicting mass distribution are explored for verification of two alternative modes of the myosin molecule arrangement within the vertebrate skeletal muscle thick filaments. The model well depicting the complete bipolar structure of the thick filament and revealing a true threefold-rotational symmetry is a tube covered by two helices with a pitch of 2 × 43 nm due to arrangement of the myosin tails along a helical path and grouping of all myosin heads in the crowns rotated by 240° and each containing three cross-bridges separated by 0°, 120°, and 180°. The cross-bridge crown parameters are verified by EM images as well as by optical and low-angle X-ray diffraction patterns found in the literature. The myosin tail arrangement, at which the C-terminus of about 43-nm length is near-parallel to the filament axis and the rest of the tail is quite strongly twisted around, is verified by the high-angle X-ray diffraction patterns. A consequence of the new packing is a new way of movement of the myosin cross-bridges, namely, not by bending in the hinge domains, but by unwrapping from the thick filament surface towards the thin filaments along a helical path.

In this paper, we investigate the characteristic coronal mass ejection and Type II radio burst, we calculated the drift rate of Type II Radio burst and determined the electron density distribution from a Coronal Mass Ejections. The data were taken from website e-CALLISTO, Space Weather, SolarHam and also from the Langkawi National Observatory, National Space Agency, Langkawi Kedah, Malaysia. All the data collected on 15th March 2015, 4th November 2015 and 16th December 2015. On 16 March 2015, the events were associated with slower C9 solar flare and CME. For this week, the events were causing radio blackouts on Earth. On 4 November 2015, the events were associated with M1.9 solar flare, CME and Solar burst Type II. The value of the solar wind was 570.4 km/Sec and value for radio sun was 124 sfu. For drift rate, we calculated the value for sites in Sri Lanka (ACCIMT-SRI), Ooty, India (OOTY), Indonesia (INDONESIA) and Kasi, South Korea (KASI) at between 0324 to 0328 UTC. In South Korea was highest drift rate, which is 1.397 MHz/s. Also, at HB9SCT, Switzerland (HB9SCT), Humain, Belgium (Humain), Daro, Germany (Daro-VHF) and TCD in Birr, Ireland (BIR), we calculated the drift rate of solar burst Type II between 1200 until 1203 UTC. In Belgium had the highest value of the drift rate to compare at other sites. Harmonic pattern was also appeared for all these sites. On 16th December 2015, this event associated with C6.6 solar flare and CME. These events give an impact on the earth geomagnetic field which is formed of aurora because of the combination of both events that trigger geomagnetic storming.

Diverse atrypid brachiopod faunas characterize very late Givetian-early Frasnian deposits of Devonian Transgressive-Regressive (T-R) cycle IIb in North America which feature species of Desquamatia (Seratrypa), Desquamatia (Independatrypa), Pseudoatrypa, Radiatrypa, Spinatrypina (S.), S. (Exatrypa), Spinatrypa (S.), Davidsonia, and possibly Iowatrypa Middle Frasnian faunas are not well documented in much of North America. Middle Frasnian deposits of T-R cycle IIc in the Great Basin, Iowa, and the southern Northwest Territories and Mackenzie shelf feature species of Neatrypa, Pseudoatrypa, Radiatrypa, D. (Seratrypa), Spinatrypa, and possibly Costatrypa. Radiatrypa does not carry over into late Frasnian rocks of T-R cycle IId in North America. Genera common to late Frasnian deposits of T-R cycle IId-1 in central and western North America include widespread species of Pseudoatrypa, Spinatrypa, Costatrypa, Iowatrypa. D. (Seratrypa) and Neatrypa were restricted to the tropical platforms of western Canada at that time. Very late Frasnian brachiopod faunas of T-R cycle IId-2 yield species of Pseudoatrypa, Spinatrypa, Iowatrypa, and Pseudoatrypa? (southwest US only). Available data on Late Frasnian brachiopod records in North American subtropical platforms (New Mexico and Iowa) indicate that two successive stepped late Frasnian extinction events affected those faunas, coinciding with the Lower Kellwasser Event and the Frasnian-Famennian (F-F) Event. Over half of the atrypid genera represented in late Frasnian North American faunas survived the first wave of extinctions (Lower Kellwasser Event). The surviving species, recorded in very late Frasnian deposits of Devonian T-R cycle IId-2, became extinct during the final crisis associated with the F-F Event.

Opis:
Admixture diffusion flows are investigated in two-phase randomly nonhomogeneous multilayered strips with non-uniform distributions of inclusions. Cases where the most probable disposition of layered inclusions is located near the body boundary on which the mass source acts in the neighborhood of another boundary and in the middle of the body are considered. The initial-boundary value problem is formulated for the function of random mass flow under conditions of a constant flow on the upper surface and zero concentration of the admixture on the lower surface. Calculation formulae are obtained for the diffusion flow averaged over the ensemble of phase configurations in the particular cases of beta-distribution at zero and nonzero initial concentrations. The dependences of the averaged admixture flows on medium characteristics are established. It is shown that if the admixture diffusion coefficient in inclusions is greater than in the matrix, consolidation of inclusions in the middle of the body leads to an increasing diffusion flow. Simulation of the averaged diffusion flows of the admixture in the multilayered strip is performed for different model variants of a probable disposition of phases in the body and their comparative analysis is carried out.

Opis:
Several factors have been associated with the presence of abnormally high plantar foot pressure including: (i) increased body weight, (ii) foot structure and (iii) walking strategy. It is predicted that the biomechanics of the foot is influenced by the structure of the foot, primarily the Medial Longitudinal Arch. The objective of this study was to examine if Body Mass Index and the foot arch have a direct effect on dynamic peak plantar pressure for healthy subjects. Following a clinical lower limb examination, the Tekscan HR mat was utilised for this study, plantar pressure was profiled at specific events during stance phase of gait including heel strike, midstance and toe off. Results indicated to the preferable normal arch as this produced a low plantar pressure distribution in all cases. The 2nd and 3rd metatarsal head region recorded the highest pressure for all arch types during dynamic analysis. The lowest pressure for the normal and overweight BMI was at toe-off. While the obese BMI group showed highest pressure during toe-off. The obese BMI flat arch subcategory indicated to functional ambulation differences. Future work involves comparing this healthy database to a demographically matched diabetic group.

Opis:
The present work deals with the geometrically non-linear forced vibrations of beams carrying a concentric mass under different end conditions. Considering the axial strain energy and expanding the transverse displacement in the form of a finite series of spatial functions, the application of Hamilton's principle reduces the vibration problem to a non-linear algebraic system solved by an approximate method developed previously. In order to validate the approach, comparisons are made of the present solutions with those previously obtained by the finite element method. Focus is made here on the analysis of the non-linear stress distribution in the beam with an attached mass. The non-linear forced deflection shapes and their corresponding curvatures are presented for different magnitudes of the attached mass, different excitation levels and different vibration amplitudes.

Opis:
Preliminary review of taxonomy of the brachiopod order Atrypida and its stratigraphic distribution in the late Frasnian Kellwasser Crisis of several regions of Laurussia, western Siberia and South China point to their moderate diversity and stepdown but irregular extinction pattern. The distinctive character of the late Frasnian atrypid fauna is emphasised by several relict genera, marked by recurrent and possibly aberrant characters (mainly in ornamentation types), tendency to size reduction and homeomorphy in some taxa. The transgressive/hypoxic Lower Kellwasser Event and preceding eustatic changes during the Palmatolepis rhenana Zone had only a regional destructive effect, and were linked rather to an enhanced dispersal of the last generic set of atrypids. The Variatrypinae, Spinatrypinae and Iowatrypa-group seem to belong to the latest surviving atrypids. The final demise of the remaining atrypids (and some other articulate brachiopods, e.g., gypidulids) coincided with the transgressive/hypoxic Upper Kellwasser Event, followed by catastrophic eustatic fall during the late Palmatolepis linguiformis Zone (F-F Event). This was probably exacerbated by accelerated submarine volcano-hydrothermal activity, and consequent progressive regional eutrophication, and climatic destabilization. The level-bottom rhynchonellid-inarticulate biofacies crosses the fatal F-F boundary horizon without major changes. No reliable data exist for the presence of atrypids in the Famennian survival and recovery biota, even for the smooth lissatrypid Peratos. Sustained competition from radiating and diversifying productid-cyrtospirifrid-athyrid faunas may have provide an additional biotic factor in the collapse of the Frasnian shelly benthos at the time of sfress, as well as in a post-extinction offshore repopulation from inner shelf habitats.

Opis:
The radiolarian species Astroentactinia paronae, A. stellata, Trilonche echinata, T. grandis, T. nigra, Haplentactinia inaudita, and H. rhinophyuosa are common in late Frasnian to early Famennian rhythmic, calcareous−marly sequence of the southern Holy Cross Mts., Poland. They are known also from coeval abundant siliceous biota assemblages from the carbonate shelf of East European Platform including more than 150 taxa of radiolarians. However, in ecological terms, the moderately diverse Polish microfaunas (34 species of 12 genera) are more similar to these from Kolyma and Alaska, also marked by abundance of sphaerical entactiniids and near−absence of bilateral−symmetric Ceratoikiscidae and Palaeoscenididae. A succession of two distinctive siliceous sponges associations is established in the incipiently submerged Holy Cross carbonate platform: from an ephemeral, diverse, mostly rigid−skeletal lithistid−hexactinosan foreslope assemblage (initial phase of the late Frasnian Kellwasser Crisis), to long−lasting, basinal loose−skeletal hexactinellid−demosponge faunas (appearing abundantly just prior the Frasnian–Famennian boundary in the late Palmatolepis linguiformis Zone). Such regional blooms of marine siliceous biotas, parallel to temporary retreat of calcareous biota, are demonstrated worldwide for the Kellwasser Crisis. These suggest probable causal links with cooling pulses and at least regional, volcanically induced eutrophication.

Opis:
Physical sense and practical significance of major measurements of tribological wear are analysed here. Definitions and methods of assessing these measurements are proposed on the basis of the laws of energy and mass conservation. Contributions of energy and displacement of particular friction forces corresponding to each element of a friction couple are addressed. Energy expenditure that causes wear is introduced into the definition of wear resistance. Planning and thermodynamic analysis of a tribological experiment and the application of thermodynamic concepts and quantities to the description and the interpretation of results are recommended. The author believes application of wear measures that have an unequivocal physical interpretation will limit problems with the incomparability and the irreproducibility of tribological results and issues with transferring them to real objects.
W niniejszej pracy zanalizowano senes fizyczny i praktyczne znaczenie ważniejszych miar zużycia tribologicznego. Zaproponowano definicje i sposoby oceny tych miar w oparciu o zasady zachowania energii i masy.
