    In this work it is attempted to estimate topical values of the index of the cost of repairs of the new generation agricultural tractors. Research of the costs of technical service was performed of the agricultural tractors Fendt exploited in farms. For this agricultural tractors was marked index of the cost of their repairs. The average value of the index of costs of the repairs for investigated agricultural tractors amounted about 60%. 
    Podstawowym celem niniejszej pracy jest oszacowanie wartości wskaźnika kosztu napraw dla aktualnie stosowanych środków mechanizacji w warunkach rolnictwa krajowego. Dotychczasowe wartości zostały wyznaczone wiele lat temu. Wstępne badania nowoczesnych maszyn rolniczych wskazują na możliwość obniżki rzeczywistych kosztów ich napraw w porównaniu z wartościami kalkulacyjnymi tych kosztów (Grześ - w druku). Dodatkowo celem pracy jest porównanie wyznaczonej wartości wskaźnika kosztu napraw ciągników rolniczych z odpowiednią wartością tego wskaźnika, stosowaną obecnie w kalkulacjach kosztów produkcji rolniczej.

    In this work research into real costs of technical service of cereal combine harvesters were undertaken. On the example of the Claas cereal combine harvesters firms costs of the repairs carried in the during their of exploitation were estimated. Obtained results show lower values of real costs of the repairs in comparison with the values of calculation of these costs. 
    Przedstawiona praca ma charakter poznawczy. Jej podstawowym celem jest poznanie wartości nakładów finansowych ponoszonych w związku z obsługą techniczną nowoczesnych maszyn rolniczych. Na przykładzie kombajnów zbożowych eksploatowanych w warunkach krajowego rolnictwa podjęto próbę oszacowania rzeczywistych kosztów ich obsługi technicznej i porównanie ich z kalkulacyjnymi kosztami napraw. Kombajny zbożowe należą do najdroższych i najczęściej stosowanych w polskim rolnictwie maszyn do zbioru. Decyduje o tym znaczny (56,9% w 1999 roku) i wzrastający udział zbóż podstawowych w ogólnej strukturze zasiewów (Rocznik statystyczny...2000). Ponadto można zaobserwować, niezależnie od typu i wielkości gospodarstw rolnych, powszechny zbiór zbóż oraz innych roślin uprawianych na ziarno i nasiona metodą jednoetapową za pomocą kombajnów zbożowych.

    The main task of the maintenance services in hard coal mines is to ensure continuous operation of the equipment (machines). The measurable effect of these actions should be the reduction of maintenance costs of equipment (machinery) and thus the reduction of production costs - coal mining. The paper presents an issue of failure rate of technical measures applied in the mining process. In order to ensure greater efficiency and productivity, it is necessary to find the causes of the most frequent failures in this process and effectively counteract them. As a result of these activities, the production availability of machines/equipment involved in the mining process will increase. This will to a large extent ensure failure-free and uninterrupted progress, increase productivity and improve the quality of manufactured products, as well as reduce the operating costs of equipment (machines), and thus reduce production and product costs. This effect should consist mainly in the control of rational, safe and effective use and operation of equipment (machines) in the exploitation process. An algorithm implemented in one of the hard coal mines was presented. The technical condition of underground mining equipment was observed by periodical measurements of vibration parameters at selected points on the machine - measurements were conducted with a vibration pen. The aim of this research is to improve the reliability of technological process of a mining plant through its failure-free operation. In order to achieve this objective, i.e. the efficiency of a mining company, it is necessary to reduce its costs. The action that leads to this aim is a proper assessment of the technical condition with regard to the equipment used in technological process.

    The paper aroused in answer to discussion in Mining Magazine (MM) September 2011 and July/August 2013. The paper shows that discussion given in the MM issue July/August 2013 does not fulfill expectations expressed in MM issue 2011. The presented paper is the review on maintenance that is based on condition monitoring as tool for detection of faults and failure prevention. Fault and failure are regarded as inevitable during the machine operation as the process of wear and the process of degradation. The question is, if one can influence the wear and degradation process, using condition monitoring. The paper will present technology (in reference to cited papers) which demonstrates that the use of the proper method can influence the wear and machine degradation process, using proper condition monitoring techniques and knowing scenarios of wear and degradation process, the maintenance can be rationalized. The presented paper shows possible improvements which are needed to fulfill expectations expressed in MM September 2011 and they are not taken into consideration in MM July/August 3013. These improvements can be fulfilling on the bases of object and operation supported maintenance.
    Artykuł powstał w odpowiedzi na dyskusję w Mining Magazine (MM) wrzesień 2011 i lipiec/sierpień 2013. Artykuł pokazuje, że dyskusja przedstawiona w MM 2013 nie spełnia oczekiwań wyrażonych w MM wydanie 2011. Przedstawiana praca jest przeglądem na temat obsługi maszyn, która bazuje na monitorowaniu jako narzędzie dla detekcji uszkodzeń i ich zapobieganiu. Uszkodzenia są uważane jako nieuchronne w eksploatacji jako proces zużycia i degradacji. Istnieje pytanie czy można wpłynąć na proces zużycia i degradacji wykorzystując monitorowanie stanu. Artykuł przedstawił technologię (w odniesieniu do cytowanych prac), które pokazują, że wykorzystując monitorowanie i znając scenariusze zużycia i proces degradacji można racjonalizować eksploatację. Przedstawiony artykuł pokazuje możliwe ulepszenia, które są potrzebne, aby spełnić oczekiwania wyrażone w MM wrzesień 2011, a które nie są brane pod uwagę w MM 2013. Te ulepszenia mogą być spełnione na podstawie wspomagania wnioskowania wynikającego z znajomości cech obiektu i warunków eksploatacji.

    This study aims to explore the predominant critical success factors (CSFs) for the implementation of lean manufacturing (LM) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) producing machinery and equipment (M&E). The convergent parallel mixedmethods (qualitative and quantitative) were employed in three Malaysian M&E manufacturing SMEs. The study identified four predominant CSFs that significantly impact on the LM application in M&E manufacturing SMEs, namely, leadership and commitment of the top management, training to upgrade skills and expertise, employee involvement and empowerment, and the development of LM implementation framework for SMEs. This study can assist the M&E manufacturing SMEs in prioritising these predominant CSFs so that the management teams can work on the improvement strategy and achieve a higher level of lean sustainability. It offers valuable insights into the LM implementation that could provide a practical reference guide to other industrial companies.

    The operation of various types of machinery and equipment constituting a material work environment exposes employees to many different hazards (especially mechanical hazards). According to the Polish law, the basic duty of both machine manufacturers and employers is to limit the level of these hazards and to provide employees with broadly understood safety. The article presents the basic issues related to the technical safety of laser cutter operators on the example of a selected industrial plant. Technical and organizational solutions used to reduce the level of risk associated with the use of the selected machine were assessed.

    In the article the possibility of using selected adaptive models to forecast accidents at work during repairing, maintaining and installing machines, was presented. On the basis of statistical data on persons injured in accidents at work (2009-2018), the process of their forecasting was carried out (for 2019 and the years 2019-2021) and the errors of expired forecasts were determined. Prediction of empirical data allowed for the assessment of accident rates among persons injured in total accidents and allowed for the assessment of the state of occupational safety in the area with was analyzed. The presented models can be used to assess accidents in other sectors of the economy and be a tool used to assess the state of occupational safety in an enterprise.
