Opis:
The main aim of the paper is to present the possibility of use of the multi-criteria optimization method Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to liquid cargo transportation by sea. Finding the optimal solution is not simple. There are many factors influencing the shipping process. In the case of liquid cargo, the most important thing is the safety of the crew, ship, and environment. Therefore, the Mathematical Theory of Evidence is introduced and used to determine the optimal path in terms of time and safety of transport. Moreover, the details of liquid cargo transport process are described with particular attention to ship to ship operations. Besides, the basic concept of the AHP method, steps of the algorithm are introduced. Finally, the multicriteria optimization of the transport of the liquid cargo from the Persian Gulf to Port of Gdansk is done. It is based on the experts’ opinions.

Opis:
Knitted fabrics are often used in clothing worn next to the skin. Therefore, they are expected to be characterized by excellent properties affecting the physiological comfort of clothing usage, especially the ability to wick away sweat. As part of the work, tests were carried out on 5 variants of knitted fabrics in terms of the ability to transport sweat in the form of vapor and liquid. The tests were performed using Permetest and Moisture Management Tester M290. It was found that all knitted fabrics were characterized by very good water-vapor permeability. The transport of liquid moisture in knitted fabrics varied depending on the raw material composition of the knitted fabrics. The best ability to transport liquid moisture was found in a knitted fabric made of a 54% cotton/46% polyester blend.
Dzianiny często stosowane są w odzieży noszonej bezpośrednio przy skórze. Dlatego oczekuje się, że będą one charakteryzowały się bardzo dobrymi właściwościami wpływającymi na komfort fizjologiczny użytkowania odzieży, zwłaszcza zdolnością odprowadzania potu. W ramach pracy przeprowadzono badania 5 wariantów dzianin w zakresie zdolności do transportu potu w postaci pary oraz płynu. Badania wykonano za pomocą przyrządów Permetest i Moisture Management Tester M290. Stwierdzono, że wszystkie dzianiny charakteryzowały się bardzo dobrą przepuszczalnością pary wodnej. Transport płynnej wilgoci w dzianinach był zróżnicowany w zależności od składu surowcowego dzianin. Najlepszą zdolnością transportu płynnej wilgoci odznaczała się dzianina wykonana z mieszanki: bawełna 54%/ poliester 46%.

The aim of the article is to present an innovative IT solution for monitoring transport in the process of fuel distribution, which was implemented in Lotos Paliwa in January 2013. Hardware and software requirements of the system, as well as the functional and task-oriented structure were described in the article. In contrast to other standard applications supporting the management of liquid fuel supply chain, it is a unique solution which considerably contributes to a significant reduction of the levels of losses and extraordinarily increases the safety and quality of delivered goods. It is a tool which may become an important source of competitive edge during stagnation in the market of fuels.

The paper presents results of research on the preparation of cellulose membranes with graphite oxide addition (GO/CEL). Initially, a cellulose (CEL) solution in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazole acetate (EMIMAc) was obtained, to which graphene oxide (GO) dispersed in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) was added. From this solution, composite membranes were formed using phase inversion method. It was observed that the GO addition influences the physico-chemical properties of GO/CEL composite membranes, resulting in an increase in their mass per unit area, thickness and density, and a decrease in sorption properties. In addition, the study of transport properties has shown that GO/CEL membranes do not absorb BSA particles on their surface, which prevents the unfavorable phenomenon of fouling. An important feature of the obtained membranes is the specific permeate flux which reaches high values (~124 L/m2 ×h) at 3.8% of the GO addition to the cellulose matrix.

Modern spark-ignition engines used for the propulsion of low emission vehicles are fuelled by injection systems in which the fuel is individually metered to each cylinder by a single injector (multipoint injection). For the proper engine operation, it is necessary that the injectors are similar to each other and stable in respect of the fuel dosage during the whole engine operation. This requirement is satisfactorily met by petrol injectors used by OEM. In contrast to petrol injectors, gas injector used in LPG-fuelled vehicles, in particular for the retrofit, are still in the development phase and therefore their quality and production consistency are often regarded as unsatisfactory from the standpoint of view of the proper engine operation. The injector-to-injector variation in the fuel dosage results in air-fuel mixture maldistribution in the cylinders, which, in turn, affects vehicle emission characteristics. The paper presents results of an investigation of inconsistency of gas injectors used in LPG vehicles in respect of their dosage. The method of measurement of the dosage uniformity is described. On the basis of the measurement, three sets of injectors differing in respect of injector-to-injector variation were selected for further vehicle tests. Tests were conducted on a passenger Euro 4 car. The emissions of limited pollutants were measured over the NEDC type-approval cycle and cycle's representative for the real world driving under Polish driving conditions. The paper presents results of the conducted tests and discusses the effect of injector-to-injector variation on the pollutant emissions.

This study recruited 16 industrial workers to examine the effects of material, weight, and base area of container on reduction of grip force (ΔGF) and heart rate for a 100-m manual carrying task. This study examined 2 carrying materials (iron and water), 4 carrying weights (4.4, 8.9, 13.3, 17.8 kg), and 2 base areas of container (24 ´ 24 cm, 35 ´ 24 cm). This study showed that carrying water significantly increased ΔGF and heart rate as compared with carrying iron. Also, ΔGF and heart rate significantly increased with carrying weight and base area of container. The effects of base area of container on ΔGF and heart rate were greater in carrying water condition than in carrying iron condition. The maximum dynamic effect of water on ΔGF and heart rate occurred when water occupied ~60%–80% of full volume of the container.

The demand for cobalt has increased significantly in recent years due to its use in a wide variety of products and processes. Cobalt and nickel often accompany each other in nature and close physicochemical properties of both metals make their separation a complicated practical problem. Organophosphorous extractants have been widely used to separate cobalt from nickel. This paper presents the preliminary results obtained for separation of cobalt from nickel using Cyanex 272 containing supported liquid membranes prepared by a novel ultrasound-assisted method. The results show that this novel supported liquid membrane preparation method leads to higher separation factors than those described in the literature under similar separation conditions.

In this study, facilitated transport of Cr(III) ions through supported liquid membrane (SLM) was investigated. As a carrier di-nonylonaphthalenesulfonic acid (DNNSA) and di(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) were used. Additionally, the effect of carrier concentration in the membrane on ion transport was observed and the optimum concentration of carriers was determined. The most effective transport of Cr(III) ions across SLM consisting of 15% D2EHPA and 25% DNNSA was found. The facilitated transport of chromium in the SLM system depended on the type of carrier, its concentration, and the pH value of the aqueous solutions.
W pracy zbadano transport przenośnikowy jonów Cr(III) w układzie z immobilizowaną membraną ciekłą (SLM). Jako przenośników jonów użyto kwasu di(2-etyloheksylo) fosforowego (D2EHPA) oraz kwasu dinonylonaftaleno fosforowego (DNNSA). Zbadano wpływ stężenia przenośnika na kinetykę transportu jonów Cr(III). Określono optymalne stężenia dla przenośników, przy którym transport zachodził najefektywniej. Dla D2EHPA wynosiło ono 15%, natomiast dla DNNSA 25%. Stwierdzono, że transport jonów Cr(III) przez SLM jest zależny przede wszystkim od rodzaju i stężenia przenośnika w membranie. Na wydajność procesu ma również wpływ pH.

In order to provide quality and safety of liquid cargo carried by sea, it is necessary to obey the rules of its protection. During maritime transport edible oils are prone to detrimental influence of many external factors such as supply of oxygen, of water, of metal ions and of pollution, as well as changes of temperature and mixing caused by ship movement. Due to them, they could undergo oxidation reactions, hydrolysis, polymerization and various types of physical transformation. On account of them the deterioration of nutritional, health and sensory qualities of fat could occur. The aim of the study was the assessment of the dynamic of changes with oxidative character (peroxide value and TBA index) which could appear in edible oils depending on their storage conditions. The analysis, which lasted 12 weeks, concerns rapeseed oil. Oxidative changes were registered every two week. The storage conditions in the atmospheric air induced danger connected with oxygen presence, whereas nitrogen blanketing eliminated this risk factor. The assessment also includes the influence of temperature of storage (indoor temperature 20˚C or refrigeration temperature 4˚C) and mixing of the fats. The results indicate that nitrogen blanketing, lowering the temperature and eliminating the mixing during storage of oil have highly positive impact on reduction of oxidative changes in fats.

Используя методы аэродинамики идеальной жидкости и положения теории аппаратов на воздушной подушке, получена математическая модель коэффициента тяговой силы конвейера на воздушной подушке с наклонными круглыми каналами. Проведено сравнение результатов моделирования и экспериментального исследования коэффициента тяговой силы конвейера на воздушной подушке с наклонными круглыми каналами.

Nowadays, the energy cost is very high and this problem is carried out to seek techniques for improvement of the aerothermal and thermal (heat flow) systems performances in different technical applications. The transient and steady-state techniques with liquid crystals for the surface temperature and heat transfer coefficient or Nusselt number distribution measurements have been developed. The flow pattern produced by transverse vortex generators (ribs) and other fluid obstacles (e.g. turbine blades) was visualized using liquid crystals (Liquid Crystal Thermography) in combination with the true-colour image processing as well as planar beam of double-impulse laser tailored by a cylindrical lens and oil particles (particle image velocimetry or laser anemometry). Experiments using both research tools were performed at Gdańsk University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Present work provides selected results obtained during this research.

Analysis of the use of the Russian materials (liquid glass and softening additives) has been made in accordance with the modern requirements for use in the technological processes of casting as binding materials in the production of large-sized steel railway casting. The reasons for poor knockout of liquid glass mixtures have been investigated. A complex action softening additive has been recommended for a better knocking-out ability. This solution provides a softening effect at the points of maximum formation of the liquid glass matrix strength in the processes of polymorphic transformation of the material under the influence of elevated temperatures as the result of filling the mold cavity by the melt. It has been shown that the use of additives of complex action leads to the decrease in the specific work of the knockout by four – seven times depending on the composition of the mixture and the design features of the casting. Experimental-industrial tests of the proposed method for softening the liquid glass mixtures have been made and the "Front Buffer Stop" casting has been made (for the rolling stock of locomotives and railway wagons). The tests confirmed the effectiveness and expediency of implementation of new liquid glass mixtures with softening additives in conditions of foundry enterprises.
