Lean Green is a concept which is implemented as a part of the sustainable development strategy, share allowing for reduction of the company’s costs related to, on the one hand, efficient use of energy factors and on the other optimum use of production factors aimed at minimisation of wastefulness, in particular in the area of post-production waste and pollution. The purpose of the article is to identify the determinants, internal stimuli and to specify the force with which they affect the implementation of the Lean Green concept in companies on various continents: America, Asia and Europe. For the purpose of better recognition of the examined problem, analysis of results of studies was made in consideration of the following criteria: country where a given company operates and share of persons outside the company in the process of implementation of this concept. In article uses the one-way ANOVA methodology, the Shapiro Wilk and Levene tests and the non-parametric Kruskal Wallis test. Hitherto studies have confirmed that the determinants are regional, which indicates the necessity of directional studies.

Opis:
Although Lean has been known and applied in both theoretical and practical on around the world for many years, a deeper understanding of Lean tools, principles implementation, and a roadmap to successfully apply is needed. In the context of Small and medium enterprises (SME), it is very difficult for local enterprises to apply synchronization Lean tools, techniques, and principles because of limited resources in manpower, technology, and management capability. Through the case-based study, this paper proposed the four-phase roadmap for Lean application in SMEs. An analysis of methods from a literature review of Lean implementation was conducted in order to identify the phases of the roadmap. Then, six SMEs in Vietnam that applied Lean were chosen to collect data and analyze the applicability and how Lean tools are successful implemented in the cases to confirm the findings.

Purpose: The study aim is an in-depth investigation of a Lean tools implementation sequence in an organisation as an expression of a Lean journey within that organisation. The success factors of Lean tools implementation and the relationship between them are studied. A model of Lean tools implementation in an organisation is aimed to be developed. Design/methodology/approach: A case study method is employed in this study. It is conducted in a manufacturing company from the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. The employed method allows exploitation of a variety of techniques in the investigation process: in-depth interviews, observations, documents and data analysis. The study takes into consideration a systematic literature review and bibliometric network analysis supported by the Vosviewer software tool. Findings: The implementation of Lean Manufacturing approach, along with accompanying tools and methods, is aimed at efficiency and/or quality results of the processes within a company. Selected tools, to be successfully implemented, should support the elimination or reduction of losses related to current process flows. There are many Lean tools available, but most do not fit all organisations and all the kinds of manufacturing processes. Therefore, proper preparation before implementation is an essential issue for any organisation striving for Lean outcomes. The available Lean tools, along with their implementation sequences, are not studied comprehensively in the literature. Originality/value: An organisational-development-driven model of Lean tools implementation is elaborated, based on the literature and empirical investigations. The decision to choose the appropriate Lean tool should be guided by general organisational development. Several factors need to be considered before the implementation process, namely, capabilities, resources, gains and return on expenditure. Top management engagement, appropriate communication and listening to line employees look to be key success factors in Lean tools implementation.

Opis:
One of the key factors of a competitive economy is creating a strong, internationally competitive SME sector. This essay is based on the fact that management tools used in the SME sector are insufficient. With the development of these tools, the competitiveness of companies could improve. According to the literature, using lean thinking has a positive influence on the company’s effectiveness, and also proved that lean approach can be successfully extended out of the car industry, into the limitedly resourced SME sector, too. Even though the topic of lean manufacturing is analysed by many studies, there is a lack of papers dealing with its usage in the SME sector. The originality of this paper lies in analysing the current status of using lean manufacturing practices among the Hungarian SMEs operating in the manufacturing industry. The paper includes an examination about how deeply the elements of lean thinking are present in the Hungarian SME sector, how large the development reserves are, and whether there is a difference between the usage of lean practices. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. SMEs’ representatives, mostly CEOs and managers from the Hungarian manufacturing industry participated in the survey. The sample contained 128 observations. The study has two control variables, which are the size of the company and the relation to the lean management. The survey brought the following results. First of all, it shows that the level of using lean is low among the Hungarian SMEs. Furthermore, customer orientation is a key factor in the sector, however, there are considerable possibilities for progress by the inner processes and the handling and involvement of the suppliers. Firstly, a good basis to increase the effectiveness could be the creation of thinking in processes influencing the supply chain. Secondly, the development of the leadership and the involvement of the employees at some level are also significant. Key findings is that without state incitement and the involvement of outside experts, progress cannot be expected to spread on a broad scope. The background of the research method was created to fit the available literature and to capable to be used in other countries, too. Moreover, this way the available information can be expanded with a regional dimension, in case further studies are going to be made.

Understanding of how to implement Lean successfully and how it contributes to performance in manufacturing organizational is still relatively lacking so that Lean exploration is still needed in the management aspect. This research will examine the effect of LMS, LWRT on LBR. This research was conducted on 30 companies in industrial centers in Indonesia, and the data were processed using the Structural Equation Model method. It was found that LMS has no significant effect on LBR, but LMS has a significant effect on LWRT, while LWRT has a significant effect on LBR. In detail, LBR variation of 78.8% is simultaneously influenced by LMS and LWRT, 21.2% is influenced by other variables. While 72.7% LWRT variation is influenced by LMS variation, and 27.3% is influenced by other variables. This result confirms Bergmiller’s research (2009) that LMS has a significant effect on LBR through LWRT for the manufacturing industry in Indonesia.

Right now Lean Management is a pretty well known in manufacturing companies. But its application in the service industry reveals many doubts and gaps in knowledge. The aim of this study is the identification of the necessary adaptations of Lean principles when they are implemented in a service organization. The study is a conceptual work. The major findings of the study are the necessary adaptations when Lean principles are implemented in services: (1) the inclusion of the direct presence of the customer in the value stream, (2) the identification and elimination of waste on the customer’s side, (3) the Lean philosophy must coexist with the service-oriented organizational culture, and (4) standardisation needs to be more flexible and focused on organizational knowledge increase.

Opis:
Lean Manufacturing is a profound system designed to enhance every manufacturing industry's efficiency by reducing waste through internationally recognized tools and techniques. Enterprises of all sizes and industries strive to adopt Lean Manufacturing (LM) concepts to maximize their resources, such as personnel, facilities, materials, and operating schedules, to be economically effective. There are several models for implementing Lean philosophy in enterprises. The conducted research is aimed at reviewing and conceptualizing the LM system implementation framework in the enterprises in Central and Eastern Europe. The analysis was based on the results of surveys conducted in micro, small, medium and large enterprises, mainly in production, trade and service organizations. As a result, among others, the main premises, methods and benefits of implementing the LM system, thus identifying the specificity of the concept in the context of the size of enterprises and the industry from which they come, were indicated. The originality is the analysis of the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of Lean activities, distinguishing the size of the organization from the group of micro, small, medium and large organizations (MSME). The research results show that the LM implementation model in enterprises from Central and Eastern Europe is based on the Shingo model.
Produkcja szczupła to rozbudowany system zaprojektowany w celu zwiększenia wydajności każdej branży produkcyjnej poprzez redukcję odpadów dzięki uznanym na arenie międzynarodowej narzędziom i technikom. Przedsiębiorstwa niezależnie od wielkości i branży starają się przyjąć koncepcje Lean Manufacturing (LM) , aby zmaksymalizować swoje zasoby, takie jak personel, obiekty, materiały i harmonogramy działania, aby były ekonomicznie efektywne. Istnieje kilka modeli implementacji filozofii Lean w przedsiębiorstwach. Realizowane badania mają na celu dokonanie przeglądu i konceptualizacji ram wdrożeń systemu LM w przedsiębiorstwach w Europie ŚrodkowoWschodniej. Analizę oparto na wynikach z badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w mikro, małych, średnich i dużych przedsiębiorstwach, głównie w organizacjach produkcyjnych, handlowych i usługowych.

The concept of lean management in an organization, improving products and processes using the Lean Manufacturing concept, is discussed in this paper. Striving for excellence is the key factor in maintaining competitiveness on the market. Only organizations able to adapt to changing environ-mental conditions faster than others achieve an advantage, and the management in line with the Lean Manufacturing philosophy is de facto change management. In this paper, important factors in the ceramic industry, which should be taken into account when implementing Lean Manufacturing are characterized. Important factors affecting the implementation of lean tools include, such as: the size of the enterprise, involvement of employees, knowledge about the Lean concept, technological factor, type and variety of the product line, as well as the specificity of the ceramic industry. The greatest opportunity associated with the implementation of Lean is to increase the competitiveness of the company obtained through: meeting the quality and economic expectations of customers. The greatest opportunity associated with implementation of the Lean is to increase competitiveness of the company obtained through: meeting the quality and economic expectations of their customers. Practice shows, however, that despite the simplicity of rules and tools, few organizations manage to achieve the level of excellence of the pioneer of this concept, the Japanese Toyota Corporation.

Opis:
Background: Due to the small number of scientific publications covering the area of implementation of Lean Management in small and medium companies, this paper presents the observation and analysis of obtained results, which could be the basis for the implementation of Shopfloor Management (SFM) as a tool for improving both the operational production control as well as the visualization of results in small and medium companies (SME). Methods: The researches consist of the comparative analysis based on the scientific literature and the observation of effects of implementation of SFM method in selected company from the SME sector. Results: The advantages of the implementation of SFM method were found in such areas as: simplification of organisational solutions, use of visual management and shaping the desirable competencies of leaders. Conclusions: The presented results show that coordinated and constantly implemented Lean elements in the company from the SME sector, which previously did not use any tools of this concept, can give a significant increase of turnover, prompt eliminations of shortages as well as the change of the attitude of all employees to continuous improvement. The positive effects of Lean implementation, based on SFM method, were confirmed empirically.
Wstęp: Ze względu na stosunkowo małą liczbę prac naukowych dotyczących implementacji narzędzi szczupłego zarządzania w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach (MŚP) niniejszy artykuł prezentuje obserwacje i analizę otrzymanych wyników, które mogą stanowić podstawę do implementacji metody Shopfloor Management (SFM) jako narzędzia ułatwiającego zarówno operacyjną kontrolę produkcji, jak i wizualne zarządzanie wynikami w firmach z sektora MŚP. Metody: Badania zostały przeprowadzone dwutorowo: w oparciu o analizę porównawczą, bazującą na studium literatury źródłowej i obserwacje efektów zastosowania metody SFM w wybranym przedsiębiorstwie z sektora MŚP. Wyniki: Stwierdzono korzyści uzyskane w efekcie wdrożenia metody SFM w postaci uproszczenia rozwiązań organizacyjnych, zastosowania zarządzania wizualnego i kształtowania pożądanych kompetencji liderów.
