    Opis:
    Purpose: The text presents the crafts related to precious metals in terms of the importance of gold in China's economic culture; the development of jewelry manufacturing techniques and their makers, the jewelry market divided into the geographical location (within the PRC); the needs and preferences of the demand side, as well as the gender and age group of the final consumers. The aim of the article is to answer the question whether Chinese goldsmithing is associated with luxury or associated mainly with the production of luxury products. Design/methodology/approach: The research method used was desk research – an analysis of the literature and articles written by Chinese journalists based on interviews with goldsmiths. Findings: The article points out that the contemporary group of Chinese goldsmiths is very diverse. Although gold is associated with luxury and a good financial situation, the profession of a craftsman is not as closely associated with this social consciousness. Originality/value: The article presents the topic of goldsmithing, which is relatively rarely represented in the literature of economic sciences.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to illustrate the broad cultural context affecting the economy and the consequences of economic development in the natural environment and social development. Design/methodology/approach: The method chosen was the analysis of literature on the subject in Polish, English and Chinese language. Findings: The article presents the ancient Chinese point of view on the idea of harmony between a human being and the nature, as well as the reasons behind the origin of the People’s Republic of China’s direction towards sustainable development. It is influenced by both the imbalance between economic growth and environmental degradation, as well as social challenges. Originality/value: The paper shows and explains the main problems faced by the economic development, as well as the roots of socio-economic behavior on a cultural basis.

    Opis:
    Purpose: This study aims to map the development of research on ecological civilization with Chinese characteristics using the VOSviewer bibliometric analysis covering texts published until January 2023. The aim of the article is also to find elements of the economic sciences within the framework of the researched issues. Design/methodology/approach: The article includes a review of the most popular scientific bibliographic databases of scientific texts, namely Web of Science and Scopus, and a structured literature review of the texts. The bibliographic data has been processed in the VOSviewer program. Findings and Originality/value: Quantitative results were presented in the form of bibliometric maps, showing among others the relationship maps between watchwords and the existence of six clusters within WoS and five clusters within Scopus, as well as the presence of economic sciences in the studied area of ecological civilization and its Chinese characteristics. Social implications: The world’s environmental problems and the shared resolution regarding the implementation of seventeen Sustainable Development Goals Sustainable indicate the importance of the topic of sustainable development. China's economic development and its aspirations to become the world's leading civilization point to the need to consider the pursuit of sustainability and civilization together.

    Opis:
    Purpose The purpose of this paper is to discuss the problem of culture in the workplace, which has been becoming increasingly popular recently. Findings Culture has many meanings and synonyms in the Polish language - we can talk about good manners, rules of savoir-vivre, social etiquette, or politeness. Most people intuitively know how to behave in situations outside of work. In recent years, discussions about culture in the workplace have appeared more often. It is particularly relevant in the construction industry at a time when new forms of employment are emerging and many organisations are undergoing restructuring processes. Research limitations/implications It results in, among others, high staff turnover, the employment of more contract workers, frequent changes in the working environment, and working on different construction sites. In such cases, the direct and long-term impact of supervision on maintaining safe and cultural working conditions is increasingly limited. The responsibility should be borne by all site personnel, who should adopt an attitude of active and continuous concern for the culture and safety of their own behaviour and that of others and be personally involved in the process of developing cultural and safe attitudes on construction sites. The article defines culture and suggests its application on construction sites. Practical implications Consequences include high rates of staff turnover, the need to bring in outside contractors, constant shifts in the workplace culture, and the need to work at many sites. The ability of supervision to provide a safe and satisfactory work environment, both now and in the future, is diminished under those circumstances. All construction workers should take responsibility and adopt an attitude of active and continuous concern for the culture and safety of their behaviour and that of others and be personally involved in the process of shaping cultural and safe attitudes on construction sites. Originality/value The paper defines culture and proposes its use on construction sites.
