This work presents the results of assessment of the quality of fruit jam before and after the modernization of the production line. Research was carried out at the factory of the fruits and vegetables processing. The modernization of the line included: installation of twin-screw pumps, exchange piston batcher on rotary batcher, assembly of the new stationary evaporator, inserting magnetic traps, the purchase of the new labelling machine and the automatic packaging machine. Qualitative parameters of the product, which were analysed based on organoleptic parameters (odour, colour, appearance, taste, con-sistency) and physico-chemical parameters (net weight, pH, total extract, total acidity). On the basis of gotten data from a production plant the calculations of basic statistics were performed. Than basing on comparative analysis (t-student test, sign test) an information about statistically essential diversity in the quality of the product before and after the modernization with reference to four parameters: consistency, appearance, net mass, total extract was gotten. Moreover the modernization influenced the CCP curtailment. This is very important in improving the system of the production of the safe food.
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki oceny jakości dżemu owocowego przed i po modernizacji linii produkcyjnej. Badania przeprowadzono w zakładzie przetwórstwa owocowo-warzywnego. Modernizacja linii obejmowała: instalację pomp dwuśrubowych, wymianę dozownicy tłokowej na dozownicę karuzelową, montaż nowej stacji wyparnej, wprowadzenie pułapek magnetycznych, zakup nowej etykieciarki oraz automatu pakującego. Parametry jakościowe produktu, które przeanalizowano odnosiły się do cech sensorycznych (barwa, konsystencja, wygląd, zapach oraz smak) oraz cech fizykochemicznych (masa netto, kwasowość ogólna, pH oraz ekstrakt ogólny). Na podstawie uzyskanych danych z zakładu produkcyjnego dokonano obliczeń podstawowej statystyki i wytypowano parametry do dalszej analizy. W oparciu o analizę porównawczą (test t-studenta, test znaków) uzyskano informacje o statystycznie istotnym zróżnicowaniu jakości produktu przed i po modernizacji w odniesieniu do czterech parametrów: konsystencja, wygląd, masa netto, ekstrakt ogólny. Ponadto wprowadzona modernizacja wpłynęła na zmniejszenie liczby CCP. Ma to duże znaczenie w doskonaleniu systemu produkcji bezpiecznej żywności.

This paper presents a universal prototype testing device for determining the kinetic durability of products of pressure agglomeration (pellets and briquettes). The device presented in the paper is equipped with replaceable test chambers enabling to combine Pfost's and Holmen's methods for the determination of kinetic durability of pellets, and a method for the determination of kinetic durability of briquettes. Equipping the device with an air blower and perforated chamber walls increases aggressiveness and allows an outlet for crushed particles from the chamber. The presented device will allow to perform tests that would make it possible to determine relationships between density and strength parameters of briquettes and pellets.
W pracy przedstawiono uniwersalne prototypowe urządzenie badawcze do określania wytrzymałości kinetycznej produktów ciśnieniowej aglomeracji (granulatu i brykietów). Przedstawione w pracy urządzenie posiada wymienne komory testujące, co pozwala na połączeniu metody Pfosta i Holmena do określania wytrzymałości kinetycznej granulatu oraz metody określania wytrzymałości kinetycznej brykietu. Zastosowanie nadmuchu powietrza i perforowanych ścianek komór w urządzeniu zwiększa agresywność i pozwala wyprowadzić rozkruszone cząstki z komory. Przedstawione urządzenie pozwoli na prowadzenie badań pozwalających ustalenie zależności pomiędzy gęstością a parametrami wytrzymałościowymi brykietów i granulatu.

Opis:
The quality of joints in welded structures very often determines their suitability for further safe operation. The quality of welds assessed at least B, according to the PN-EN ISO 5817 standard, is the criterion for allowing many welded structures to be used in working conditions. The quality level B can be considered good, provided that the tested construction is not intended for use in extreme working conditions or in high-risk conditions. Strict acceptance criteria are applied to such environments, and the welds tested preferably meet the requirements of class B and do not have any defects. Even small discrepancies in the form of blisters, concave faces, etc. (qualifying for quality class B welds) should not be found in welds used for responsible steel constructions working in hazardous conditions. These defects may cause a loss of consistency of the material and, consequently, lead to a serious disaster. The article evaluated the quality of welded joints of selected welded elements of a power boiler. The inspection of welded joints was aimed at confirming the correctness of their performance and compliance with the technological and construction documentation as well as with the tightened technical acceptance conditions. As a result of visual and non-destructive tests, ultrasonic joints were allowed or withdrawn from further safe operation.

The aim of the present theme issue was to study the influence of ultrasound enhancement on the kinetcis of osmotic dehydration and the effect of convective drying from the point of view of drying time and quality of dried products. Apple fruit was used as the experimental material. The kinetics of osmotic dehydration with (UAOD) and without (OD) ultrasound enhancement were examined for 40% fructose and sorbitol solutions. The effective dehydration time of osmotic process was determined. Preliminary dehydrated samples with OD and UAOD were next dried convectively with (CVUS) and without (CV) ultrasound assistance. The influence of OD and UAOD on the kinetics of CV and CVUS drying was analysed. The parameters of water activity and colour change were measured for the assessment of product quality after drying process.

In the manufacturing processes there has long been demanded the increasing requirements for high quality products especially in automotive industry. In order to assure such as high quality standards the production process and further the product quality the organization must have implemented tools enabling to monitor and have the ambition to dwindle variability. The low variability provides better process predictability, standardized quality level, less occurrence of non-conformities; the products reveal better longevity and finally the satisfied customers. The long lasting endeavor for widely recognized parameters with ambition to determine current status of quality parameter has brought indicators in a form of Cp and Cpk into the business. The article deals with theoretical approach of previously mentioned indicators, an observation of critical to quality parameters in production process, definition of resulting problems, and finally the proposal of improvement including its verification

The basic aim of this paper is an attempt to examine the phenomenon of qualitative differentiation, including the answer whether the improvement of product quality through an increase in its durability, is an appropriate, at the present times, way how to build a market advantage by the manufacturer of agricultural machinery, including manure spreaders. As part of the study, attempts to answer the question of whether, and if so, the differentiation of a complex product by increasing durability (quality) of its components, is the right strategy, taking into account the higher cost of production, have been made. For this purpose, a comparison of the cost of manufacturing the product comprised of higher quality components with the cost of the effects caused by a defect resulting in a product of lower quality. Taking up the discussion on the specific issues, the conceptual model of the thesis, corresponding to the listed paper's objectives, has been adopted, namely: the cost of the effects caused by a defect in a complex product is growing very rapidly with the distance between the moment of occurrence of defect and the time it was discovered, which confirms the expediency of manufacturing higher quality products, even at the expense of the originally assumed profit.
Podstawowym celem niniejszej pracy jest próba zbadania zjawiska dyferencjacji jakościowej, w tym odpowiedz na pytanie czy doskonalenie jakości wyrobu, poprzez wzrost jego wytrzymałości, to właściwy w obecnych czasach, sposób budowania przewagi rynkowej przez producenta maszyn rolniczych, w tym rozrzutników obornika. W ramach badan podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie czy i jeżeli tak, to kiedy różnicowanie produktu złożonego, poprzez podnoszenie wytrzymałości (jakości) jego podzespołów, jest właściwa strategia, biorąc pod uwagę wyższe koszty wytwarzania? W tym celu dokonano porównania kosztów wytwarzania wyrobu składającego się z podzespołów wyższej jakości z kosztami skutków wywołanych przez wadę powstałą w produkcie niższej jakości. Podejmując dyskusje na temat poszczególnych zagadnień, przyjęto koncepcyjny wzorzec tezy, odpowiadający wymienionym celom opracowania, a mianowicie: koszt skutków wywołanych przez wadę w produkcie złożonym rośnie bardzo szybko wraz z odległością pomiędzy momentem powstania wady a momentem jej wykrycia, co potwierdza celowość wytwarzania produktów wyższej jakości, nawet kosztem pierwotnie zakładanego zysku.

Fashion is present in everyday life. It may significantly affect the various aspects of work and private life, too. On the other hand, social media have become the venues of exchanging points of views and exposing social status. This is the reason why fashion brands are willing to communicate with their stakeholders via social media. The impact of this channel on relationships with customers is still increasing. The aim of this article is to present the ways of social media usage by fashion brands and their impact on the evaluation of the quality of products from the consumers’ perspective. Many authors treat product and service as unity in marketing science. Therefore, authors of this article decided to adapt the Grönroos model. The article was drawn up on the basis of an analysis of literature studies, reports and exploratory studies (a questionnaire completed by brand fans).
Moda jest elementem życia społecznego. Oddziałując na relacje społeczne może w znaczący sposób wpływać zarówno na życie zawodowe, jak i prywatne. Z drugiej strony, media społecznościowe stały się miejscem wymiany opinii oraz prezentowania statusu społecznego. Dlatego też marki modowe chętnie komunikują się ze swoimi interesariuszami poprzez media społecznościowe. Wpływ tego kanału na relacje pomiędzy klientami stale wzrasta. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie sposobów wykorzystania mediów społecznościowych przez marki modowe oraz jego wpływu na ocenę jakości produktów z perspektywy konsumentów. Wielu badaczy problematyki marketingu traktuje na równie produkt i usługę, dlatego też zdecydowano się na zaadaptowanie modelu Grönroosa. Artykuł opiera się na analizie literatury, raportów oraz badaniu empirycznym (kwestionariusz ankietowy wypełniony przez fanów marki).

In the current economic situation, the diversification and competitive of the products offer, globalization of the markets, a continued growth of customers' requirements, improve a product quality, increasing the technical level and improving manufacturing technologies. For all of companies it is a priority to satisfy those customers and market requirements. In the article the main issues related with the evolution of ways of ensuring products quality like: availability-reliability-maintenance relationship, measuring quality aspects through quality characteristics, quality economy in terms of quality costs and quality control, were considered and analyzed. Recommendations for improving of production quality process such as: continuous improvement of product technological conception and constructive one using advanced processes, increasing concerns for quality assurance embodied in the increasing of production prevention costs in total, in parallel with decreasing the latter and continuous training of staff were presented.

Gated communities are emerging all over the world day by day. Besides, the product quality of the gated communities are still questionable in some regions. This research aims to benchmark the product quality at each gated community based on the main determinants of the product quality. To do this, data collected from 623 residents from various gated communities through questionnaire. The obtained data has been processed via structural equations modeling and integrated with VIKOR to benchmark the qualities from top to bottom. The results show that “Sulaimani Heights” were the best product among other alternatives while Goizha II was the worst one.

This article presents experimental studies on drying kinetics and quality effects of red beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) after convective drying with a preliminary osmotic pretreatment. The effects of the osmotic agent (NaCl) concentration and the osmotic bath time on the product colour and nutrient content preservation, the water activity, and rehydration ability after drying were analysed. Osmotic dehydration curves and Solid Gain (SG), Water Loss (WL), Weight Reduction (WR) were determined. It was proved that drying of beetroot with osmotic pretreatment contributes to shorter drying time, smaller water activity, higher retention of betanin, better colour preservation, and a greater degree of water resorption.

This article presents a quality analysis of convectively dried fruits and vegetables with preliminary osmotic dehydration. Tests were carried out on banana fruit and red beetroot samples. Hypertonic solutions of fructose for the banana and those of sucrose for the red beetroot were used, each one at three different concentrations. After osmotic dewatering treatment conducted at different time intervals and after osmotic dehydration the samples were dried convectively until an equilibrium with the surroundings was attained. Osmotic dehydration and convective drying curves were determined. The values of Solids Gain (SG), Water Loss (WL) and Weight Reduction (WR) were measured and changes in the samples’ colour and shape after convective drying with and without osmotic pretreatment were assessed.

The main problem of modern entrepreneurs is the adequate recognition of customer expectations based on current products. The purpose of the study is to propose the concept of a model to predict the qualitative-cost level of this modified product. The idea of the concept depends on determining the product that will be satisfactory for the customer, i.e., satisfied simultaneously in turn of quality and cost of purchase. A questionnaire is used to obtain customer expectations. Then, according to the DEMATEL method, the relations between these criteria are determined. Next, the weights (importance) of the criteria are estimated by arithmetic average. Additionally, according to the Likert scale, these criteria' initial quality (customer satisfaction) is assessed. Based on these, the quality of the product is estimated by using the WSM method. The calculated product quality is combined with the real cost of its purchase in the qualitative-cost analysis (AKJ). According to the results of the qualitative-cost analysis, the expected product of the customer is predicted. This process is supported by the Relative States Scale. The proposed conception can be used to verify any product. Therefore, it can be useful for different entities offering products to the customer and striving to meet their expectations (satisfaction). The originality is the simultaneous prediction of the expected level of product quality and the cost of its purchase and the ability to determine customer satisfaction at this qualitative-cost level.
Głównym problemem współczesnych przedsiębiorców jest odpowiednie rozpoznanie oczekiwań klienta na podstawie aktualnych produktów. Celem opracowania jest zaproponowanie koncepcji modelu do przewidywania poziomu jakościowo-kosztowego produktu według modyfikacji produktu. Idea koncepcji polega na określeniu satysfakcjonującego dla klienta produktu, który będzie jednocześnie zadawalający pod względem jakości i kosztu jego zakupu. Kwestionariusz wykorzystuje się do pozyskania oczekiwań klienta. Kolejno, według metody DAMATEL określane są relacje pomiędzy kryteriami. Następnie stosując średnią arytmetyczną szacowane są wagi (ważność) kryteriów. Dodatkowo, według skali Likerta oceniana jest wstępna jakość (satysfakcja klienta) z tych kryteriów. Na ich podstawie szacowana jest jakość produktu zgodnie z metodą WSM. Obliczona jakość produktu łączona jest z rzeczywistym kosztem ich zakupu w analizie kosztowo-jakościowej (AKJ). Według poziomu kosztowo-jakościowego przewidywany jest produkt oczekiwany przez klienta. Wybór wspierany jest skalą stanów względnych. Proponowana koncepcja może być stosowana do weryfikacji dowolnych produktów. Dlatego może być użyteczną dla różnych podmiotów oferujących produkty klientowi i dążących do spełnienia ich oczekiwań (satysfakcji). Oryginalnością jest jednoczesne przewidzenie oczekiwanego poziomu jakości produktu i kosztu jego zakupu oraz możliwość określenia satysfakcji klienta z tego poziomu jakościowo-kosztowego.

Opis:
In the article was presented the results of analysis of the nonconformities which occur during the production of PET bottles in the selected company from Poland. The analysis included six process unit operations of forming PET bottles. The aim of the analysis is to present specific corrective and improvement actions based on the results obtained. The article presents a short description of the process of shaping PET bottles for six selected operations. The block diagram of the PET bottle shaping process is presented. Quality management tools were used for quantitative and qualitative analysis. The use of the Pareto-Lorenz diagram allowed for quantitative an approach to the quality problems of PET bottles. The Ishikawa diagram was used to identify potential causes of the most frequent problem. Corrective actions were proposed to improve the quality of PET bottles tested. The research problem has been solved. As a critical element requiring improvement, the competences of employees and the process of operating machines and devices were indicated.

Opis:
The main problems of qualimetrical measurements for quality assessment as a new metrology trend are considered in this paper. The conceptual notion of the qualimetrical measurement is proposed and developed. The main problems of realization procedure are considered and its solution variants are analyzed. The methodology of results uncertainty assessment of qualimetrical measurements is developed. The correlations between individual single studied product quality values are taken into account. It helps to assess objectively the quality of qualimetrical measurements.
W pracy przedstawiono główne problemy dotyczące metodologii pomiarów kwalimetrycznych, które można określić jako nowy trend w dyscyplinie metrologia. Zaproponowano i opracowano pojęcie mierzenia kwalimetrycznego jako pośredniego pomiaru danej wielkości, której wartość określa się poprzez opracowanie wyników pomiarów według metodologii skalowania wielowymiarowego. Przeprowadzono analizę metodologii oceny pomiarów kwalimetrycznych, przy wykorzystaniu teorii niepewności. Przedstawiono podstawowe problemy realizacji procedur pomiarów kwalimetrycznych i przeanalizowano sposoby ich rozwiązania. Zgodnie z teorią pomiaru, rozwiązano zagadnienie syntezy miary jakości produktu, jako jednego z kluczowych elementów realizacji pomiarów kwalimetrycznych. Wprowadzono pojęcie wirtualnej miary jakości produktu, która jest odpowiednikiem teoretycznym realnej, fizycznej miary jakości. Przedstawiono problem wykorzystania metodologii skalowania wielowymiarowego w pomiarach kwalimetrycznych, w tym analizę i uzasadnienie zastosowania modelu trójmodalnego skalowania wielowymiarowego. Otworzyło to możliwość oceny poziomu jakości badanego produktu. Zaproponowano metody szacowania niepewności wyników pomiarów kwalimetrycznych, biorąc pod uwagę różne stopnie skorelowania pomiędzy poszczególnymi wskaźnikami jakości produktów badanych. Stworzyło to możliwość oceny jakości tych pomiarów. Ponadto, dzięki nowej metodologii pomiarów kwalimetrycznych jest możliwość osiągnięcia jednoznaczności pomiarów.
