Opis:
Landscape information modeling (LIM) is a new trend in spatial projects made using BIM technology. Elements of land development are, not only in the opinion of the authors, just as essential as the element of a building object. In turn, GIS data can be used to model larger areas based on combined data from GIS and BIM models. The lack of the strict integration of BIM and GIS (ISO/TR 23262:2021 covers GIS/BIM interoperability, ISO 19166 is in preparation) prevents the modeling of land development objects, both existing and planned, in many cases. The modeling process using the current and known BIM tools and processes were presented to efficiently develop a model of a building object with its surroundings. Modeling took place using best practices that are collected and used in the Polish reality. The work presents an object-oriented approach to modeling elements of spatial development with the preservation of the so-called occupational hygiene. By applying the above principles, it is possible to develop a “good” LIM model that fits the current trends and developments in BIM.

We present one of the meteorological and hydrological experiments performed in the FP7 project ADMIRE. It serves as an experimental platform for hydrologists, and we have used it also as a testing platform for a suite of advanced data integration and data mining (DMI) tools, developed within ADMIRE. The idea of ADMIRE is to develop an advanced DMI platform accessible even to users who are not familiar with data mining techniques. To this end, we have designed a novel DMI architecture, supported by a set of software tools, managed by DMI process descriptions written in a specialized high-level DMI language called DISPEL, and controlled via several different user interfaces, each performing a different set of tasks and targeting different user group.

This publication aim is discussing the issue of lidarometry – a stereoscopic point cloud display for measurement purposes. The authors state that lidarometry constitutes a valuable variant of integration for photogrammetric and scanning data. A point cloud in lidarometry may be subject to stereoscopic observation and measurement to perform vectorization identically as in photogrammetry. Apart from 3D point cloud display enabled by several programmes in the world, the authors describe the method of synthetic stereograms generation using the artificial image pair sampling, Such solution presents an additional aspect of scanning and photogrammetric data integration and enables thorough analysis of the method. In this publication, the authors describe the genesis and variants of lidarometry. The authors determine the relation of lidarometric measurements accuracy to conventional stereophotogrammetric measurement accuracy. They also provide the optimum point cloud resolution for stereo measurements to terrain pixels size of the measured photograms.

Combining data from diverse, heterogeneous sources while facilitating a unified access to it is an important (albeit difficult) task. There are various possibilities of performing it. In this publication, we propose and describe an agent-based framework dedicated to acquiring and processing distributed, heterogeneous data collected from diverse sources (e.g., the Internet, external software, relational, and document databases). Using this multi-agent-based approach in the aspects of the general architecture (the organization and management of the framework), we create a proof-of-concept implementation. The approach is presented using a sample scenario in which the system is used to search for personal and professional profiles of scientists.

The aim of the study could be identified twofold. On the one hand, it was a presentation of Polish experiences as concerns the most important methodological issues of contemporary statistics. These are the problems of data integration (DI) and statistical estimation for small domains (SDE).On the other hand, attempts to determine relationship between these two groups of methods were undertaken. Given convergence of the objectives of both SDE and DI, that is: striving to increase efficiency of the use of existing sources of information, simulation study was conducted. It was aimed at verifying the hypothesis of synergies referring to combined application of both groups of methods: SDE and DI.

With the rapid development of remote sensing technology, our ability to obtain remote sensing data has been improved to an unprecedented level. We have entered an era of big data. Remote sensing data clear showing the characteristics of Big Data such as hyper spectral, high spatial resolution, and high time resolution, thus, resulting in a significant increase in the volume, variety, velocity and veracity of data. This paper proposes a feature supporting, salable, and efficient data cube for time-series analysis application, and used the spatial feature data and remote sensing data for comparative study of the water cover and vegetation change. In this system, the feature data cube building and distributed executor engine are critical in supporting large spatiotemporal RS data analysis with spatial features. The feature translation ensures that the geographic object can be combined with satellite data to build a feature data cube for analysis. Constructing a distributed executed engine based on dask ensures the efficient analysis of large-scale RS data. This work could provide a convenient and efficient multidimensional data services for many remote sensing applications.

The objective of the paper is to review the state of the art of analytical methods of integration of photogrammetric and laser scanning data which is an important scientific and practical issue. Basing on the conclusions included in previous studies, it can be observed that the analytical integration of photogrammetric and laser scanning data is an interesting area of research, especially in case of absolute orientation of images and point clouds in a sequential or one-stage adjustment process. The results of the state-of-the-art analysis are shown according to four division criteria: method of registration, workflow stage, data capture technology and calculation order. After presenting all aspects of the problem, the author proposes the two-step classification of variants of data analytical integration based on order of orientation calculation and methods of registration.

Opis:
Data integration is a crucial issue in the environments of heterogeneous data sources. At present, the afore-mentioned heterogeneity is becoming widespread. Based on various data sources, if we want to gain useful information and knowledge, we must solve data integration problems in order to apply appropriate analytical methods to comprehensive and uniform data. Such activity is known as knowledge discovery from the data process. Therefore, approaches to the data integration problem are very interesting and bring us closer to the “age of information”. This paper presents an architecture which implements knowledge discovery from the data process. The solution combines ETL technology and a wrapper layer known from mediated systems. It also provides semantic integration through connection mechanism between data elements. The solution allows for integration of any data sources and implementation of analytical methods in one environment. The proposed environment is verified by applying it to data sources in the foundry industry.

Earth’s atmosphere is monitored by a multitude of sensors. It is the troposphere that is of crucial importance for human activity, as it is there that the weather phenomena take place. Weather observations are performed by surface sensors monitoring, inter alia, humidity, temperature and winds. In order to observe the developments taking place in the atmosphere, especially in the clouds, weather radars are commonly used. They monitor severe weather that is associated with storm clouds, cumulonimbuses, which create precipitation visible on radar screens. Therefore, radar images can be utilized to track storm clouds in a data fusion system. In this paper an algorithm is developed for the extraction of blobs (interesting areas in radar imagery) used within data fusion systems to track storm cells. The algorithm has been tested with the use of real data sourced from a weather radar network. 100% of convection cells were detected, with 90% of them being actual thunderstorms.

The aim of this work was to propose a methodology supporting the task of collecting the comparative data on studies of the mechanical properties of ADI. Collecting of research data is an important step in the process of finding the optimum design solutions for newly made products - experimental data allow us properly calibrate the manufacturing process of ADI to let the final product achieve the required properties. Parameters of the ADI production process, i.e. the time and temperature of austenitising and austempering, as well as the alloying elements added to ductile iron affect the ADI properties. The design process can use research data collected, among others, from the Web. As stated in the article, the process of data acquisition can be supported by semantic technologies, including ontologies which are descriptive logic formalism.

As of today, most of the data processing systems have to deal with a large amount of data originated from numerous sources. Data sources almost always differ regarding its purpose of existence. Thus model, data processing engine and technology differ intensely. Due to current trend for systems fusion there is a growing demand for data to be present in a common way regardless of its legacy. Many systems have been devised as a response to such integration needs. However, the present data integration systems mostly are dedicated solutions that bring constraints and issues when considered in general. In this paper we will focus on the present solutions for data integration, their flaws originating from their architecture or design concepts and present an abstract and general approach that could be introduced as an response to existing issues. The system integration is considered out of scope for this paper, we will focus particularly on efficient data integration.

Opis:
The paper presents some general approaches for indirect georeferencing of close range photogrammetric data being acquired for various applications by the imaging systems of different types either independently or in integration. Various digital metric or non-metric cameras and terrestrial laser scanning systems, which register the objects to determine their shape and location, can be located either on the MMS moved vehicles or on the terrestrial stable stands. Various factors, such as objects’ location, dimension and shape as well as the form of data required and type of the photogrammetric imaging systems have the major effect on the approach to be used for georeferencing of photogrammetric data. In case of dynamic collection of imaging data, direct georeferencing is required. In this case, the GPS/INS systems of adequate accuracy for direct georeferencing of registered data, have to be ensured. Such systems allow to orient all collected data (cloud of points or discrete points for the objects) in the uniform coordinate system which can be later re-transformed to the final reference system in post processing stage. In case of imaging by the conventional metric or non-metric cameras located on the terrestrial stable stands, indirect georeferencing of data is usually executed in the post-processing stage. In many of close range applications, data collected by one or more photogrammetric acquisition systems located in various positions around the object, are integrated. This requires determination of orientation of all sets of photogrammetric data in the same reference system, which for close range applications is usually arbitrary selected. The indirect georeferencing approaches of close range imagery data require always a few control data, mostly points, either for a block of images or for each separate image/model. The methods are classified into two general groups: (1) multi-image exterior orientation, including self calibration, for orientation of images of similar or different scale and geometry taken by the metric and/or non metric cameras, in simultaneous adjustment of all photogrammetric data, and (2) the sequential. orientation of each image or model. The spatial location of control data for orientation of the block or separate model / image is determined either by the field survey or from the set of data already georeferenced, which were collected earlier by close range photogrammetric methods. In this paper, some approaches of indirect georeferencing of photogrammetric data for the selected objects, obtained only from imagery taken by metric and nonmetric cameras or in integration with data from terrestrial laser scanning, are presented.
