The World Meteorological Organisation predicts an increase in average annual temperature. As a result of climate change in Slovakia, one can expect changes in the distribution of precipitation and moisture availability, changes in the temperature availability of crop production, changes in wintering conditions, and many others. The aim of this work was the analysis of agroclimatic indicators for the period 1961–1990 and 1991–2020. The results showed an increase in the sums of temperatures in the growing season. Also, the increase in temperature resulted in a change in the zones of the agroclimatic indicator of moisture and the agroclimatic indicator of wintering. The zones have been shifting to higher altitudes throughout Slovakia.

The research aims to determine the effect of green maintenance “energy efficiency, health and safety risks, and environmental compatibility“ on environmental performance “environmental condition, operational performance, and management performance“ as analytical research in oil products distribution company by distributing a questionnaire distributed to 46 people. The research problem lies in the weak use of traditional maintenance technology, which negatively affects the environment. The research found that the research company’s reliance on green maintenance is weak in adopting new mechanisms and technologies to enhance environmental performance and the weakness of the efforts exerted by management in the field of environmental performance and the failure to involve its staff in training programs to create a culture of preserving the environment within the culture of the organization. The research recommends the need to use machines with low energy consumption and reduce the volume of pollution.

The paper deals with the problem of road noise pollution in the context of spatial development. The analysis was motivated by the changes in the permissible noise levels that occurred on 1 October 2012 and the high urban pressure on areas located along the main traffic routes. On selected examples of sites located in the districts of Bemowo and Białołęka in Warsaw, the location of land functions is shown on the background of the course of isophones of acceptable noise levels. The analysis was based on data from acoustic maps for Warsaw developed in 2012 and 2017, planning studies, database of topographic objects and current state of development. Based on 20 features and 9 surface and quantitative indicators, determined using ArcGis software, the degree of road noise pollution in planning terms was shown. The analysis has been demonstrated that the changes in legislation have resulted in the acoustic “freeing up” significant areas along the main road, express and accelerated main roads and a reduction in the number of buildings that were considered to be at risk of noise pollution by the law before 2012. The acoustic release indicators for the general area were in the range of 0.71–0.74 for LN and 0.56–0.74 for LDWN. In relation to acoustically sensitive areas the results were in the range of 0.81–0.84 for LN and 0.64–1.00 for LDWN.

Deagrarianisation is a complex concept, which denotes a declining economic significance of agriculture and agricultural production in society at large, and rural economy and society in particular. The article is an attempt at constructing a composite indicator of the process of deagrarianisation using variables obtained by official statistics. The proposed composite indicator of deagrarianisation is then used to assess the intensity of deagrarianisation of rural areas between 2002 and 2010 in NUTS4 units (Pol. powiat) of the province of Wielkopolska.

The sustainable development indicators perform an essential function of incorporating knowledge about the development of human society into decision making at all stages from planning and implementation to evaluation of the policy impacts. This paper provides an overview of evolution and application experience of sustainability measuring practice. Researchers analyze the directions of measurement approach progress. Modern trends of indicators’ using are explored. From assessment of current status of sustainable development indicators authors reveal the main challenges in defining an appropriate set of them. The ways of overcoming the lack of harmonization in variety of conceptual and organizational frameworks used by the different countries are reviewed. Authors consider the direction of modernization of SDI system. The importance of measuring sustainable development at different scale levels: local, regional, enterprise and household levels is stressed. Researchers reveal the main task in division of responsibilities of national authorities; managing data quality and data accessibility. An additional challenge of providing better analysis of cross linkages between indicators is pointed out.

Sustainable transport is about taking holistic approach by considering economic, society and environment along with the mobility and accessibility requirement of people. In case of Greater Mumbai, there is presence of inequity in provision of transport infrastructure and service. The first part of paper arrives at sustainability indicator by means of compounded economic, social & demographic, land use and transport access indicators. The second part of paper measures the extent of sustainability in various wards of Greater Mumbai. It was important to study the extent of sustainability by measuring the gap between sustainability & HDI indicator and sustainability & transport access indicator. In terms of transport access, the gap between transport access indicator and sustainability indicator is present in most of the wards of Greater Mumbai. The overall result proves that there is urgent need to address the provision of transport access in most of the wards of Greater Mumbai. Purpose: The main purpose of this paper is to arrive at sustainability indicator and to measures the extent of sustainability in various wards of Greater Mumbai in transport. Methodology: The paper arrives at sustainability indicator by developing compounded economic, social and demographic, land use and transport access indicators. In order to calculate economic, social & demographic, land-use and transport access indicator considered normalized value of each indicators derived from maximum point normalization across all wards. Finally equal weighted average of all indicators was taken to calculate the overall sustainability indicator. To measure the extent of sustainability in various wards of Greater Mumbai was done by comparing aggregate sustainable indicator with HDI indicator and transport access indicator. Result: The overall result proves that there is urgent need to address the provision of transport access in most of the wards of Greater Mumbai. The theoretical contribution: This paper arrives at sustainability indicator by compiling economic, social and demographic, land use and transport access indicators. Practical implications: This paper calculates ward level sustainability in Greater Mumbai and identifies the need to make provision of different transport infrastructure.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the quality and competitiveness of the Russian export coal products. The export quality standards, which coal production should correspond to, are considered. The official information review of production quality published by the largest coal-mining companies of the Russian Federation is made. The formula of the integrated quality indicator for the competitiveness assessment of the Russian coal production has been corrected. The calculations of competitiveness indicators for coal products of JSC "Kuzbassrazrezugol" are made. The recommendations of integral quality rate applications for the competitiveness estimation of Russian coal are provided.
Artykuł jest poświęcony analizie i ocenie konkurencyjności rosyjskich węglowych produktów eksportowych. W teoretycznej części artykułu określono kluczowe kryteria jakościowe, jakim powinna odpowiadać produkcja węgla kamiennego kierowanego na eksport. Następnie dokonano przeglądu oficjalnych informacji o jakości produkcji węgla kamiennego, publikowanych przez największe przedsiębiorstwa wydobywające węgiel w Federacji Rosyjskiej. W celu oceny konkurencyjności rosyjskiego eksportu wykorzystano zmodyfikowany, zintegrowany wskaźnik jakości węgla kamiennego. W empirycznej części artykułu na podstawie skorygowanej formuły obliczono wskaźniki konkurencyjności dla produktów węglowych spółki akcyjnej „Kuzbassrazrezugol”. W zakończeniu artykułu przedstawiono zalecenia praktyczne, pozwalające zastosować zintegrowany wskaźnik jakości w ocenie konkurencyjności rosyjskiego węgla.

The following article describes the effect of combustion chamber leakage of piston engine on the quality of its performance. To make a diagnosis of combustion chamber tightness, only such parameters were selected which are characterized by high information value and are closely connected with its defined structure. For this reason such connections are unmistakable, which results in making the right diagnosis of combustion chamber tightness of piston engines. Special attention was paid to the fact, what consequences, combustion chamber leakage, can cause to the piston engine performance. The most dangerous for the engine efficiency is the leakage of combustion chamber. The leakage of combustion chamber brings about the change of such engine parameters as pressure of suction, pressure of final compression and burning and the change of exhaust gases composition, which effect on the engine power and on fuel consumption. Condition of piston rings and their influence on gas pressure in combustion chamber has also been characterized. Pressure of gases taking place in engine cylinder and their connection with leakage of combustion chamber have also been described. The article also exposes random character of combustion pressure in engine cylinder. Besides, the errors of indicator diagrams together with mapping error position GMP have been mentioned too. Reliability of diagnostic parameters of technical condition of combustion piston engines obtained on the basis of developed indicator diagrams has been defined. Such diagram must be made on the basis of measurements and statistic analysis of pressure parameters in correctly adjusted engines, being in perfect technical condition, and not on the basis of measurements obtained in the engine test bench of a new engine. Bad technical condition, especially leaks in its cylinders causes power differences in engine arrangements, which endangers its safe exploitation.

The following article describes parameters of developed indicator diagrams concerning piston combustion engine of ship main propulsion, which can be used to assess its technical condition. To make a diagnosis of the engine combustion only such parameters should be selected which are characterized by high information value, being closely connected with its one defined structure. This is the cause why such connections are of unmistakable character, which allows to make the right diagnosis of technical condition of piston engine. Special attention was also paid to the consequences of diagnostic symptoms qualification from developed indicator diagrams of ship propulsion engine working in different conditions. Deflection of average indicated pressure caused by inappropriate engine performance could be caused by: 1) faulty adjustment of injection pump; 2) leaky combustion chamber, 3) bad technical condition of injection apparatus and the loading air system. Wrong technical condition of the engine caused by a leaky combustion chamber brings about a decrease of its performance. Untight combustion chamber causes the change of such parameters as, suction pressure, pressure of final compression and burning, as well as, the change of exhaust gases composition, which influences the power of the engine and fuel consumption. It has been mentioned what gas pressures of working process in engine cylinders are connected with an untight combustion chamber. Random character of burning pressure course in engine cylinder has also been paid attention to. Reliability of diagnostic parameters of piston engine technical condition received based on developed indicator diagrams have been determined. Diagnostic symptoms have been defined, basing on measurements and statistical analysis of pressure values in the cylinders of properly adjusted engines being in excellent technical condition and not based on measurements received in the engine test bed of a new engine.

Poverty is a serious problem in Slovakia, and it is concentrated in a few regions. The aim of this paper is to capture the spatial differences in poverty in order to identify the poorest districts and to point to the change in the development of poverty in regions during one decade (2001–2011). It was an important period, because it was when Slovakia joined the EU (2004) and the euro zone (2009), that the financial crisis appeared. Our approach to the topic of poverty is based on an aggregated poverty indicator. The indicator reflects three kinds of risks and a broad spectrum of poverty aspects.

The steel and iron industry production is dedicated to serve other industries mainly. This makes the exercise of demand forecasting different than for consumer goods. The common sense says that demand fluctuations are influenced by general economic soundness. An attempt was made to address the question of improving forecast’s accuracy by adding a business cycle indicator as an input variable. The SARIMAX model was applied. Including a business climate indicator improved model’s performance, however no co integration is observed between the two series.

The study is aimed at assessing international competitiveness of Polish exports on a selected market. The research was conducted at sectoral level. The research method employed is the attractiveness and position indicator (AP-indicator). The AP-indicator adopts the portfolio models approach. The method enabled to quantify target market’s attractiveness and the competitive position of Polish exports on that market. The research is based on EUROSTAT statistics and covers the period of 2010-2018. According to the results, all the widely defined categories of products delivered by Polish exporters to German may be considered as competitive. The most promising part of Polish exports on the considered market are the SITC 0+1, SITC 5, SITC 6+8, and SITC 7 class, characterised by the extraordinary market growth and high exports’ dynamics. The study is dedicated only to assessing competitiveness. Explaining the drivers of the competitiveness is beyond the scope of the research.
Badanie ma na celu oszacowanie konkurencyjności międzynarodowej polskiego eksportu na wybranym rynku. Badanie prowadzono na poziomie sektorowym. W studium wykorzystano metodę nazywaną wskaźnikiem atrakcyjności i pozycji rynkowej (wskaźnik AP). Technika ta odwołuje się do metod portfelowych. Umożliwiła ona kwantyfikację atrakcyjności rynku docelowego oraz pozycji konkurencyjnej polskiego eksportu na ten rynek. Badanie bazuje na danych EUROSTAT i obejmuje lata 2010-2018. Stosownie do wyników analizy wszystkie szeroko zdefiniowane klasy produktów oferowane przez polskich eksporterów na rynku niemieckim można uznać za konkurencyjne. Jako najbardziej perspektywiczne należy postrzegać klasy produktowe SITC 0+1, SITC 5, SITC 6+8 oraz SITC 7, charakteryzujące się ponadprzeciętnym tempem wzrostu rynku oraz wysoką dynamiką eksportu. Studium ma na celu jedynie ocenę konkurencyjności. Poszukiwanie czynników konkurencyjności nie jest przedmiotem badania.

The paper analyses the current offer of combustion pressure sensors for use on marine engines under operating conditions, methods of data acquisition, methods of determining TDC position and methods of obtaining diagnostic information from the indicator diagrams. Terms of continuous work on marine engines themselves only: new ABB cylinder pressure sensor, the piezoelectric sensors from KISTLER and AVL companies, but with limitations, the main ones being stability at high temperature. Another important issue for the accuracy of mean indicated pressure and heat released characteristics determination is referred to TDC position on the indicator diagrams. TDC is appropriate thermodynamic point, it is hardly determinable in the presence of interference and lack of sufficient information – but is used, for example in ABB solution. One of the sources of diagnostic information is to analyse trends in some parameters, which, unfortunately, is very difficult in environments with varying engine loads. Further progress in the diagnostic use of indicator diagrams should be associated with the use of the heat released characteristics and the net internal efficiency, which as shown by the results of preliminary tests can be used to assess the accuracy of the injection and combustion of fuel, including gas fuel. Supplementing these methods may be the use of vibration and noise to detect certain malfunctions.

The article analyses the applicability of selected smoothing methods to smooth indicator diagram curves and to filter disturbances. An intermediate goal of the study was an attempt to extract disturbances recorded during pressure curve smoothing, which are believed to be a source of important diagnostic information. Within the framework of the reported analysis, a comparison was made between the moving average method, the Savitzky-Golay filter, and the frequency filtration method.
