Opis:
The aim of the study is articulated in the title. The author is reconstructing Kantian philosophy and pedagogic, the thesis of postmodernism and post-modern pedagogic and indicates the relationships and differences of those two systems. Both Kant and the Baden-based neo-Kantians enabled the emancipation of the humanities. The Kantian model of pedagogy was the basis for pedagogic directions, belonging to the meta-theory of humanistic education and critical pedagogy, especially the postmodern one. There are clear links with Kantian ideas of pedagogy, the way to capture the role of dignity, knowledge and freedom in the morality of a human being. There are also significant differences: Kant did not include to his pedagogy social, political and pluralistic questions, which are so important in postmodern pedagogy.

Opis:
The starting point and at the same time the axis of the considerations presented in the article was the introduction of the teacher-student relationship - the impulse to undertake them was the assumptions of hermeneutic pedagogy, whose specific branch, focused on the process of understanding the senses and meanings of what happens between the student and the educator, was referenced to this key relationship for the school microsystem. Then, in reference to the category of „meeting” of the teacher and the student, the issue of vocational fit was presented, which was shown from the point of view of the psychological (personalistic) approach in pedeutology, taking into account the specific catalog of duties of the older of the participants of this dyad in relation to the younger of them – it was emphasized that only a teacher optimally suited to the profession will be able to create such conditions for his students, that will enable them to achieve self-knowledge and form a cultural personality in terms of hermeneutic (humanistic) pedagogy. In the next part of the article, the vocational fit of teachers was shown in reference to John L. Holland’s Theory of Career Choice (the Theory of Vocational Personality) and the Five Factor Theory of Personality of Paul T. Costa and Robert R. McCrae - it also quoted the results of empirical analyzes relating to this issue, and in reference to assumptions of hermeneutic pedagogy, an attempt was made to interpret them in a different way than before, taking into account the look at the problem from a new perspective.

Opis:
Paul Natorp, John Dewey and Sergius Hessen are usually considered to represent three different philosophical and pedagogical doctrines developed at the turn of the Twentieth century. These are, respectively: neo‐Kantianism, pragmatism and humanistic pedagogy widely rooted in Wil‐ helm Dilthey’s philosophy. Contrary to this common classification, Hessen himself described his own concept of pedagogy as an applied philosophy as a continuation of Natorp’s thought. However, Hessen also noted that an approach very similar to his one can be found (with some restrictions) in John Dewey’s theory. In this case, the fundamental issue is to determine the relationship between philosophy and pedagogical theory and practise. The main part of this article will identify the specificity of this relationship: the specificity implied by the concept of pedagogy understood as applied philosophy. The concept of pedagogy, understood as an applied philosophy in its theoretical and practical aspects, is the basis for critical reconstruction of social life in general. It is the opinion shared by all three philosophers that this type of reconstruction should be based on the communal dimension of basic social interactions, that is, on the communal dimension of work. The only way for the renewal of a different form of social life leads through regaining through them an essential communal dimension of human work. All three authors agreed that to regain the communal dimension of human work by another form of social interaction would only be possible when certain conditions are present; that is, when work will be permeated by individual creativity. The presence of such conditions shall be ensured by the educational community. Thus, the educational community should be a starting and end point for any critical social reconstruction as well as for the pedagogy understood as an applied philosophy.

Opis:
The author draws our attention to the importance and complexity of developing learners' understanding as the goal of education. Her starting point is the proposal of distinguishing two types of understanding, arising from different paradigms and highlighting different aspects of this process. She distinguishes factual understanding, which is the focus of traditional pedagogy embedded in the positivist paradigm, which comes down to the mental process of updating knowledge about objective reality, and experiential understanding, the importance of which is recognized by humanistic pedagogy, which assumes that the world available to a man is a reality of values and meanings, and the process of understanding should be considered as a feature of the human way of being, consisting in their constant interpretation. In the context of this duality of meanings of understanding, she considers the presence of factual and experiential understanding in the teleological pedagogical discourse - creating goals for the 21st century education. For this purpose, she reflects on leading international educational reports and documents regarding the education system in Poland (educational reports and provisions of legal acts), as well as recalls the classic taxonomy of goals, which is a model for practitioners in formulating educational goals. The analyzes lead to the conclusion that while at the level of setting the final goals, the importance of education in understanding the world in the sense of experiential understanding is indicated, this perspective changes at the level of intermediate and specific goals, where understanding has only material connotations.

Opis:
The article is an attempt to comprehensively search the development of academic pedagogical thought and educational practice at the University of Lviv at the end of the 19th century, at the beginning of the 20th century and in the period of the Second Republic of Poland. The intention of the author was determining mental sources and academic conditionings of being born new theoretical concepts of educational sciences and their application in educational and pedagogical practice at the University of Lviv and in its intellectual proximity. Attention was paid to the origin and symptoms of scientification, processes of rationalizing pedagogical thinking, searching for its basis within the circle of philosophy, culture and society sciences, but first of all in psychological knowledge about a human being. It came a long way from philosophy and speculative psychology to empirical and humanistic psychology, which allowed to intensify the main phases and formations of educational sciences in Lviv in their historical and qualitative development. A crucial role of Kazimierz Twardowski was highlighted with his Philosophical School, changes of philosophy itself and methods of its practicing, and especially the process of emerging professional philosophy and autonomy of pedagogy as a science and academic discipline. Attention was paid to – meaningful in Lviv – a process of creating psychology and pedagogy on the basis of philosophical anthropology, socio-cultural axiology and knowledge of human development in non-biological contexts. The processes were shown in a convention of a biographic and scientific analysis of achievements of the most prominent representatives of educational sciences in Lviv. Through searching for provenance, influences and distinctiveness of the individual way of Lviv psychologists and educationists connected with the Lviv school of philosophy. These origins determined a kind of authorization of pedagogy based on philosophy of human, his culture and social life realities, on the borderlands of people and culture in the contemporary Galicia.
Artykuł jest próbą możliwie wyczerpującego prześledzenia rozwoju akademickiej myśli pedagogicznej i praktyki edukacyjnej w Uniwersytecie Lwowskim końca XIX, w początkach XX wieku i okresie II Rzeczypospolitej. W tekście zaprezentowano genezę i przejawy unaukowienia, procesy racjonalizacji myślenia pedagogicznego, poszukiwania jej podstaw w kręgu filozofii, nauk o kulturze i społeczeństwie, przede wszystkim w psychologicznej wiedzy o osobie ludzkiej. Procesy te ukazano w konwencji analizy biograficzno-naukowej dokonań najwybitniejszych przedstawicieli nauk o wychowaniu we Lwowie. Poszukiwano proweniencji, wpływów i odrębności własnej dróg lwowskich psychologów i pedagogów związanych z lwowską szkołą filozoficzną. Rodowody te określały typ uprawiania pedagogiki opartej na filozofii człowieka, jego kultury i realiów życia społecznego, na pograniczach ludzi i kultury w ówczesnej Galicji.
