    Opis:
    The main purpose of studying the dynamics of the geometric parameters of the country's living premises is to determine the patterns of their transformation as a result of changes in the lifestyle of the population. An analysis of official statistical information presented in the reports on population censuses and inventory of residential premises conducted in recent years in Russia, Japan and the United States made it possible to identify the dependence of changes in the number and area of living premises on the direction of development of the property structure in the country. Despite the relative stability of the reproduction of the traditional spatial image of the country's living premises, the change in its characteristics also depends on the level and character of the distribution of housing provision among the population. In the 19th century, a wide variety of living conditions with a low level of housing provision for the population led to an increase in state support for the construction of housing, which made it possible to narrow the geometric parameters of housing under construction and increase the average level of provision in countries. With the increase in the economic opportunities of households, it becomes preferable to purchase housing in private ownership, which makes it possible to expand the variety of living conditions and increase the average provision of housing for the population. The complete privatization of dwellings, observed at the end of the 20th century, leads to the emergence of private rent, which narrows the geometric characteristics of the dwelling under construction and increases the uneven housing supply again. During periods of economic crises, there are noticeable shifts in the transformation of the spatial image of a dwelling, associated with the search for the highest quality geometric forms of a dwelling, which change the direction of its reproduction during periods of restoration.

    W wyniku przemian przestrzenno – społecznych spowodowanych drugą rewolucją przemysłową w przeludnionych miastach ówczesnej Europy zaszła potrzeba przemianowania istniejących norm i wyznaczenia nowych struktur przestrzennych. Działania te miały przyczynić się do uwolnienia człowieka od zatłoczonych i zadymionych organizmów miejskich. Przemiany w sposobach projektowania nowych zespołów mieszkaniowych zwracały uwagę na aspekty jakości miejsca zamieszkania, upatrywanej już nie tylko w formie ukształtowanej przestrzeni, ale również w takim ich kształcie i wyposażeniu, który spowoduje pozytywne oddziaływanie na procesy społeczne. W pracy przedstawiono ogólny zarys rozwoju osiedla, od jego początkowych, XIX-wiecznych form w postaci traktatów teoretycznych, poprzez określenie zasad ich kształtowania na początku XX wieku, aż po przedstawienie współczesnych kierunków w ich formowaniu. Zdefiniowane ówczesne terminy w urbanistyce, takie jak „new urbanism” czy „arkologia”, stają się doktrynami w sposobie kształtowania nowych form mieszkalnych. Nie stanowią one jednak rozwiązań ostatecznych – by to zrozumieć, należy spojrzeć w przeszłość, rozpatrując mnogość ukształtowanych dotąd rozwiązań.
    As a result of spatial and social transformations, caused by the second industrial revolution, in overpopulated european cities, the existing norms had to be changed and new spatial structures had to be formed. These activities had to contribute to releasing man from the crowded and full of smoke urban areas. The transformations of ways of projecting new housing units raised attention to the aspects of the better quality of living space, seen not only as their spatial form, but also as their shape and furnishing, which would result in positive effects on social processes. The work presents the outline of the development of settlements, from the early nineteenth-century forms of the theoretical treaties, through the defined rules of forming settlements at the beginning of the XX century, until the presentation of the contemporary trends in their forming. The defined nowadays new terms, such as „new urbanism” or „arcology”, have become doctrines of ways in formation of new housing structures. however, they are by no means the final solutions – to understand that, we should look in the past and consider the multitude of the solutions designed so far.

    For years, the motorized and uncontrolled degradation of the public space of housing estates from the second half of the twentieth century in Poland has been appropriated. This has a negative impact on their functioning and image. The aim of the work is a detailed analysis of Kielce housing estate from the second half of the last century – Pod Dalnią, mainly in the spatial and communication aspect. The main focus was on the study of changes in the communication service model and the diagnosis of the parking problem, which also generates other tensions in the housing estate. This strives to formulate guidelines for comprehensive changes and strategies for the development of a housing estate that is not adapted to contemporary requirements and needs.
