Opis:
The objective of this paper was to report a characterization of NH3, N2O and CH4 concentrations and emissions from a commercial poultry farm under Polish conditions. The research was conducted in the deep litter/slatted floor poultry house in Greater Poland Region, where breeding hens (line ROSS 308) were housed. During 18 months, for 13 selected days the temperature and the concentration of NH3, CH4, and N2O were monitored inside and outside the building. To measure the concentrations of the gases the photo-acoustic spectrometer Multi Gas Monitor Innova 1312 was used. Mean gas concentrations in the studied poultry house were: 21.3±11.6 mg·m-3 for NH3, 2.50±1.23 mg·m-3 for N2O and 6.3±3.4 mg·m-3 for CH4. Gas concentrations in the studied poultry house were correlated with the ventilation rate. The correlation coefficients were: rNH3 = -0.92, rN2O = -0.66 and rCH4 = 0.86. The gas emission factors were on average 2.01±0.53 g·day-1·hen-1 (284±88 g·day-1·LU-1) for NH3, 0.118±0.087 g·day-1·hen-1 (16.8±13.9 g·day-1·LU-1) for N2O and 0.90±0.77 g·day-1·hen-1 (130±114 g·day-1·LU-1) for CH4.

Opis:
The purpose of the article is to present the integrated sustainable freight transport system dedicated for city clusters. The presented concept and calculation model is the result of a broader study on the effectiveness of production and transport systems in urban areas. The integrated sustainable freight transport system described in this paper serves multi-floor manufacturing clusters and therefore meets two efficiency requirements: technological integration and process sustainability. The integration of in-house transport system servicing multi-floor manufacturing building and supply chain deliveries to/from logistic node is based on efficient use of Intelligent Reconfigurable Trolleys (IRTs). The calculation model of integrated freight transport system allows for the quantitative matching of key elements of the transport system to the multi-floor manufacturing cluster needs. Properly selected and functionally integrated elements of proposed transport system allows to minimize losses and reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment.

Opis:
The aim of the research was to estimate the effect of straw-based housing on selected quality attributes of pork, using a meta-analytical approach. Meta-analysis is statistical procedure that combines the results of individual, independent studies into one common treatment effect, called the effect size. Data were extracted from 17 independent studies (20 experiments) and analysed using a random-effect model to estimate the effect of straw-based housing on the pH (initial pH at 45 min post mortem and ultimate pH), drip loss, colour (L*, a*, b*) and Warner- Bratzler shear force of pork loins. The meta-analysis of the available results showed that pigs from straw-based systems may produce pork with a faster early post-mortem pH decline (pH45), higher drip loss, and greater lightness than those reared under barren conditions with concrete (slatted) floors. A subgroup analysis showed that greater space allowance for straw- housed pigs had a greater negative effect on initial pH (pH45), drip loss, and lightness than straw housing with normal/minimal floor space requirements

Novel concept of monitoring systems integration, reference models and test application for manufacturing are presented in the paper. Research results are an answer for industry needs for development of IT solutions that will allow to integrate information flow in production systems. The idea of standalone advanced monitoring devices connection with Shop Floor Control, MRP/ERP and machine operators is discussed. The concept of monitoring systems integration has been formally described by reference models. They corresponds with original multilayer data structure proposed on the base of data tree. Data model allows to describe orders, products, processes and to save monitoring results. Both kind of models has been the base for implementation of the integrated monitoring system demonstrator. The demonstrator developed in the frame of research was built on the base of multiagent technology. It allows to keep high flexibility and openness of the system, as well as easy implementation of various intelligent algorithms for data processing. Currently, an application of integrated monitoring system for real production system is developed. The main problems and future development of monitoring integration in discrete production are presented and discussed in the article.

Opis:
The microclimate in livestock buildings is very important for health and welfare of farm animals, as well as for the efficiency of livestock production. The aim of the study was to evaluate the microclimate based on measurements of the selected parameters in a two-storey, fully-slatted piggery from July to October 2013. For five selected days, temperature and relative humidity inside the building, the concentration of NH3, CO2 and N2O and air exchange were recorded. The evaluation of temperature and humidity conditions showed that in the monitored piggery, pigs can be exposed to heat stress. The duration of adverse conditions can be as high as 80% of the day in the summer season. Mean daily NH3 concentrations ranged from 5.92 to 19.51 ppm, and were lower than the limit of 20 ppm. The analysis of the daily distribution of ammonia concentrations showed that in the autumn they were higher than the limit for 40% of the day. Daily average values of CO2 concentrations ranged from 1092 to 2407 ppm, and were lower than the limit of 3000 ppm. Average daily N2O concentrations ranged from 0.48 to 0.82 ppm, and did not negatively affect the comfort of the animals.

The author proposes to develop special models that are built based on finite-state machine, Mealy, in order to display information about technological processes at railway stations. The input alphabet of such machines is represented by the real signals (from the floor equipment, the related information systems and the dispatch office personnel). This representation allows one to formalize the software design process of real-time information management systems for these technological processes. The article demonstrates the possibility of formal transition from the automaton model to the software algorithms. The proposed approach was tested when designing the information system for Nizhnedneprovsk junction railway yard.

Opis:
In the automated environments, mobile robots play an important role to perform different tasks such as objects transportation and material handling. In this paper, a new method for a glassy elevator handling system based on H20 mobile robots is presented to connect distributed life science laboratories in multiple floors. Various labware and tube racks have to be transported to different workstations. Locating of elevator door, entry button detection, internal buttons recognition, robot arm manipulation, current floor estimation, and elevator door status checking are the main operations to realize a successful elevator handling system. The H20 mobile robot has dual arms where each arm consists of 6 revolute joints and a gripper. The gripper has two degrees of freedom. Different sensors have been employed with the robot to handle these operations such as Intel RealSense F200 vision sensor for entry and internal buttons detection with position estimation. A pressure sensor is used for current floor estimation inside the elevator. Also, an ultrasonic proximity distance sensor is utilized for checking the elevator door status. Different strategies including HSL color representation, adaptive binary threshold, optical character recognition, and FIR smoothing filter have been employed for the elevator operations. For pressing operation, a hand camera base and a new elevator finger model are designed. The elevator finger is resolved in a way to fit the arm gripper which is used also to manipulate the labware containers. The Kinematic solution is utilized for controlling the arms’ joints. A server/client socket architecture with TCP/IP command protocol is used for data exchange between Multi-Floor System and the H20 robot arms. Many experiments were conducted in life science laboratories to validate the developed systems. Experimental results prove an efficient performance with high success rate under different lightening condition.
