Opis:
In recent years the intensive efforts in developing and producing electronic devices have more and more critical inference in many areas of human activity. Engineering is one of the areas which have been also importantly affected. The paper deals with dependability namely reliability analysis procedure of a highly reliable item. The data on manufacturing and operating of a few hundred thousands pieces of electronic item are available and they are statistically a very important collection/set. However, concerning some items the manufacturing procedure was not checked and controlled accurately. The procedure described in the paper is based on the thorough data analysis aiming at the operating and manufacturing of these electronic elements. The results indicate some behaviour differences between correctly and incorrectly made elements. It was proved by the analysis that dependability and safety of these elements was affected to a certain degree. Although there is a quite big set of data the issue regarding the statistical comparability is very important.

Opis:
Sposób modelowania i dalszej oceny oparto o konkretne charakterystyki analizy regresji, logiki rozmytej i procesów dyfuzyjnych-tj.proces Wienera. Wszystkie powyższe kroki prowadzą do oszczędności.
The aim of the paper is to estimate a system technical life. When estimating a residual technical life statistically, a big amount of tribo-diagnostic data is used. This data serves as the initial source of information. It includes the information about particles contained in oil which testify to oil condition as well as system condition. We focus on the particles which we consider to be interesting and valuable. This kind of information has good technical and analytical potential which has not been explored well yet. By modelling the occurrence of particles in oil we expect to find out when a more appropriate moment for performing preventive maintenance might come. The way of modelling and further estimation is based on the specific characteristics of a regression analysis, fuzzy logic and diffusion processes – namely the Wiener process. Following the modelling results we could, in fact, set the principles of “CBM – Condition Based Maintenance”. However, the possibilities are much wider, since we can also plan in service operation and mission. All these steps result in inevitable cost saving which we would like to contribute to.

Opis:
Military vehicles are used less intensively than the civil ones, and many types of the vehicles used by the army are stored for a long time. Therefore, this type of vehicles can be used even for a dozens of years. Due to the constant development of technology, used armament and military equipment has to be adjusted to current needs. The above applies also to recovery vehicles, including field workshops. This work analyses the level of safety and comfort of the crew of the modified field workshop (Sarna II) when the vehicle is moving under various conditions. The scope of improvement included two seats inside workshop for the transportation of the crew members. Experimental research involved measuring the accelerations on the seats of the crew and the noise inside the vehicle body. The assessment was conducted on the basis of the highest value of 8-hour of the exposure to the whole body vibrations A(8). The accelerations acting on the seats were determined mainly by the kind of the road, its roughness and the speed of the vehicle. The occupational risk connected with the exposure to the mechanical vibrations was in most cases assessed to be low or moderate. The risk was assessed to be high only when the vehicle was moving on the dirt road. Results of experimental researches indicated that passengers travelling in the body of Sarna II workshop, mounted on the underbody of STAR 266M2 vehicle, have ensured proper conditions of transport, both in terms of exposure to mechanical vibrations and to the noise.

Opis:
This study presents the possible consequences of maintaining the current regulatory regime of the experimental release of genetically modified higher plants in the EU for the products of new genomic techniques (NGTs). Currently, the experimental release is a crucial stage before the authorization of a product for the market. By analyzing the data on the performance of field trials in the EU (numbers, sizes, dominating countries) and comparing the present regulatory provisions with those of selected third countries (including new provisions adopted in the UK), this study shows that the current framework of GMO (genetically modified organisms) field trials is ill-fitted for breeding activities. Due to strict limitations placed on the operator of a field trial in the EU, easing the regulatory burdens on the authorization of certain NGT products for the market may not provide researchers (especially, plant breeders) the competitive position they need if the present legal conditions for carrying out GMO field trials with certain NGT products (especially, those that are considered GMOs covered by the EU GMO legislation) are not going to change as well.

Opis:
Understanding the factors that influence the quality of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based products is a scientifically ongoing and relevant topic. Our research focused on the impact of the interior orientation parameters (IOPs) on the positional accuracy of points in a calibration field, identified and measured in an orthophoto and a point cloud. We established a calibration field consisting of 20 materialized points and 10 detailed points measured with high accuracy. Surveying missions with a fixed-wing UAV were carried out in three series. Several image blocks that differed in flight direction (along, across), flight altitude (70 m, 120 m), and IOPs (known or unknown values in the image-block adjustment) were composed. The analysis of the various scenarios indicated that fixed IOPs, computed from a good geometric composition, can especially improve vertical accuracy in comparison with self-calibration; an image block composed from two perpendicular flight directions can yield better results than an image block composed from a single flight direction.

Opis:
Potato white mold caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is an important plant disease occurring in many potato-producing areas throughout the world. In this study, a specific diagnostic method was used to detect and quantify S. sclerotiorum ascospores, and its forecasting ability was assessed in potato fields during flowering periods of 2011 to 2014 in Bahar County, Hamedan Province. Using GenEMBL database, a primer pair, HZSCREV and HZSCFOR, was designed and optimized for the pathogen. After testing the sensitivity of primers, DNA was extracted from samples of outdoor Burkard traps from potato fields. A linear association was observed between pathogen DNA and the number of ascospores using the quantitative PCR (qPCR) technique in the presence of SYBR dye. The qPCR could successfully detect DNA amounts representing two S. sclerotiorum ascospores and was not sensitive to a variety of tested fungi such as Botrytis cinerea, Alternaria brassicae, Fusarium solani. In contrast to the amount of rainfall, a direct relationship was found between ascospore numbers and the incidence of potato white mold from 2011 to 2014.

Opis:
A computerized handheld procedure is presented in this paper. It is intended as a database complementary tool, to enhance prospective risk analysis in the field of occupational health. The Pendragon forms software (version 3.2) has been used to implement acquisition procedures on Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and to transfer data to a computer in an MS-Access format. The data acquisition strategy proposed relies on the risk assessment method practiced at the Institute of Occupational Health Sciences (IST). It involves the use of a systematic hazard list and semi-quantitative risk assessment scales. A set of 7 modular forms has been developed to cover the basic need of field audits. Despite the minor drawbacks observed, the results obtained so far show that handhelds are adequate to support field risk assessment and follow-up activities. Further improvements must still be made in order to increase the tool effectiveness and field adequacy.

Opis:
The paper presents the results of 57 Drill Stem Tests (DST) within the Upper Jurassic carbonate rocks forming the Carpathian Fordeep basement in the area between Bochnia and Ropczyce (south Poland) performed by the Polish Oil and Gas Company in the years 1993 to 1998. Designated prospective horizons were tested with DST for assessing productivity of strata. DST tests were performed mostly in open hole sections of boreholes (more rarely in cased holes) after prior borehole casing perforation operations. In approximately 75% cases the cycle drill stem tests (DST) was used for testing the Upper Jurassic carbonate rocks. On the basis of data and experiences obtained during exploration of the Upper Jurassic carbonate rocks the model of the work-flow decision diagram was elaborated. It may be used for the integrated HC field management and for possible modifications in the drilling and testing technology.
