    Presented article analyzes the sources of conflict between the family role and the professional role. The article is focused on the sources of conflict between work and family. The possibility of interference between these two roles should be closely investigated and better understood. Despite that in some cases the lines between professional and family life tend to blur, both of these types of life still have different roles and requirements. The article is an investigation of attainable literature and studies regarding the subject. The empirical investigation imply that the conflict of roles starts when the time committed to the requirements of one of them makes it difficult to meet the requirements of the other. Even though lately the number of investigations of this subject has grown, the results are still differentiated and sometimes even self-contradictory. The comparison of the results of different investigators showed that the work-family and family-work conflicts are positively correlated which indicates mutual strengthening and necessity of searching for common and individual causes that condition their coexistence, domination and strength. The received results are consistent with the results of many other studies, whose authors tried to indicate that each of these conflicts could have specific causes and course.

    Opis:
    Professional and family roles are one of the basic and most important roles performed by adults. Transformations of modern organisations and families show that these two types of social groups are closely related. Work allows people to acquire material resources that are necessary to meet family needs and determine its social status. This study is of qualitative nature. Its main goal is to identify the factors that limit professional activation of mothers and those that limit implementation of the right of fathers to engage in the family life related to the difficulties encountered in reconciling professional and family roles. The attempt to identify these factors was carried out at the level of individual parent strategies, organisation practices, and at the level of implemented social policy, taking into account employers' organisations and trade union opinions.

Świętość rodzin jest głównym warunkiem wzrostu i dojrzewania autentycznych powołań oraz najwłaściwszą odpowiedzią na współczesny kryzys kultury powołaniowej.
    Building and transmitting vocational culture is among the primary duties of the Christian family. Vocational culture is composed of all actions supporting the work of awakening vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. Characteristic elements of this culture are: deep religiosity, awareness of the Church mission and the correct vision of vocation. The family builds and transmits vocational culture through a conscious and consistent process of formation according to Christian values and models of behaviour. It thus answers the general call to love and holiness. It is aptly named the Home Church, the first seminary, and the treasury of vocations. The holiness of families is the main condition for the growth and maturation of authentic vocations, and the most appropriate answer to the modern crisis of vocational culture.

Th ese include the lifestyle of women, their legal freedom, family relations, relations with partners, relations with the older generation, and relations with children. Th e position of women in society has also undergone many transformations. Problems remain, however, in the social and family policy of the state, as women engaged in the working process give preference to their own plans and their need for self-fulfi lment. Th e main goal of state family policy in the twenty-fi rst century is, then, to ensure a harmonious balance between professional activity and family life.

    Caring for a family member with dementia involves multifaceted relational issues linked to the construction of caregiving as an emotional, symbolic and morally sanctionable practice inscribed in kin relations and dominant femininity (Paoletti 2007). As the disease disrupts taken-for-granted expectations for a person with dementia and the entire family, this qualitatively new situation necessitates the (re)negotiation of kin roles and responsibilities (Peel 2017; Purves 2011). By applying conversation analysis and membership categorization analysis to an audio-taped open-ended interview with an American female caregiver, this paper investigates in-depth how she discursively navigates complex familial role-relational trajectories while assisting her mother with dementia. The study examines the situatedness of role vis-á-vis self-other relations with assumptions about categories within the membership categorization devices ‘family’ and ‘gender’ being critical to this process. It documents how the participant contextualizes care experience not only in the standardized relational pair ‘daughter-mother’ but brings into focus a broader constellation of historical, contemporaneous or hypothetical aspects of kinship ties (e.g., with her parents, siblings or children), each of which invokes distinct expectations, responsibilities and loyalties which sometimes competing with other relations. The study thus exposes certain commonsense propositions concerning normative family role-relationships which function as powerful benchmarks for making life choices, interpreting one’s experiences, and morally evaluating oneself and others while providing care to kin with dementia.

    For ages have people connected a family to a happiness of an individual. As well a contemporary person, facing various economical, social and cultural transformations, according to surveys, puts a family on the top of their values. However, many feminists authors are suspicious of family they understand traditional family and mainly maternity as a source of women’s oppression. We will present (without detailed analysis) three dominant feminist trends and their attitudes to family. In this context we will situate the most influential feminist trend in the western academic world: the post-structural feminism. We will present its reflexion of family and gender agenda, inspired by this movement. At the end we will indicate critical note to it.

    Objectives As many studies have shown, one of the most important tendencies of employees nowadays is to achieve work– life balance. Organizations should develop various activities and create supportive climate, within the framework of which employees will have opportunities to realize aforementioned goals which in turn would increase work productivity and work motivation. The aim of this paper was to examine how subjective well-being (life satisfaction and exhaustion) is associated with commitment to work and family roles under the conditions of strongly and weakly perceived organizational support for family life among health care professionals, teachers and bankers in Macedonia. Marriage duration and the number of children were introduced as control variables. Material and Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of 198 full-time employed doctors, nurses, teachers and bankers. Research variables were assessed using self-reported measures/ questionnaires. Hierarchical multiple linear regression was performed for data analysis. Results It was revealed that occupational role commitment contributed to highly expressed life satisfaction, while exhaustion was predicted by marital role commitment. These relationships were stronger among surveyed employees who reported positive family-supportive organization perception, but tested moderation effect of this variable was not statistically significant. Findings demonstrated that family-supportive organization perception moderated association of the number of children with life satisfaction, that is, participants who perceived an organization as family-supportive and had more children were more satisfied with their life in general. Conclusions Results highlighted the importance of organizational orientation toward employees, their commitment to work and family roles, and their subjective well-being, as characteristics that might contribute to higher work engagement, success and family satisfaction. Czy seniorzy są traktowani z szacunkiem czy też nie? Czy odgrywają znaczącą rolę w dzisiejszej rodzinie czy są raczej spychani na margines? Odpowiedzi na te i podobne pytania zawiera przedkładany artykuł.
    Family, the basic unit of society, has always been exposed to changes caused by transformations of the surrounding reality. We are observing changes of the definition of family, changes of its functions, changes of everything that constitutes our everyday life. There are also transformations of the roles of family members – some are expanded, e.g. one parent must fulfill the obligations of both, while others narrowed. The presented text refers to the roles of the oldest members of the contemporary family, described on the basis of studies conducted among workers of welfare institutions in Podlaskie Voivodship. Are seniors treated with respect? Could they play a significant role in today’s family or is their role quite marginal? The answers to these and similar questions are included in the article.

    Introduction. The socializing influence of parents, the so-called significant others, is essential for shaping a person, the way they function in society, and the proper performance of their social roles (Modrzewski, 2012; Szacka, 2003). This influence is possible thanks to the relationship between parents and children during their performing parental authority, that is, caring for the child, and mutual contact which shapes both sides of the relationship. In the case of a marriage, or informal relationship, breakdown, and a conflict between the parents, it is necessary to properly regulate contacts between the child and the parent leaving home, considering the best interest of the child (Fagan, Churchill, 2012). It is possible thanks to the use of mediation. Aim. The aim of the work is to show the importance of parent-child contact in the process of the socialization of the child as well as the educational and supportive role of the mediation institution, consisting in the active and responsible participation of parents in regulating contacts with the child. Materials and methods. The publications, statistical data, and legal acts regulating the issue of the importance of contacts between parents and the child for the proper course of the child’s socialization process, and the role of mediation in the regulation of parental contacts in a situation of parental conflict, were examined. Results. Previous experience shows that mediation gives conflicted parties (the child’s parents) an influence on shaping their situation, facilitates reaching a mutually satisfactory agreement in the field of care and contact with the child, becoming an alternative to formalized court proceedings. Mediation proceedings contain an educational element that teaches the child’s parents to actively participate in making decisions about their child and taking responsibility for them, allowing for a joint consensus-based search for the best solutions.
    Wprowadzenie. Socjalizujący wpływ rodziców, tzw. znaczących innych, ma zasadnicze znaczenie dla kształtowania jednostki, sposobu jej funkcjonowania w społeczeństwie i prawidłowego wykonywania ról społecznych (Modrzewski, 2012; Szacka, 2003). Wpływ ten jest możliwy dzięki styczności występującej między rodzicami a dzieckiem podczas sprawowania pieczy rodzicielskiej - opieki nad dzieckiem i wzajemnego kontaktu, który kształtuje obie strony relacji. W przypadku rozpadu małżeństwa lub związku nieformalnego i konfliktu między rodzicami, konieczne jest właściwe uregulowanie kontaktów dziecka z rodzicem opuszczającym dom, mając na względzie dobro dziecka (Fagan, Churchill 2012). Jest to możliwe dzięki zastosowaniu instytucji mediacji. Cel. Celem pracy jest ukazanie znaczenia kontaktu między rodzicem a dzieckiem w procesie socjalizacji dziecka oraz edukacyjnej roli instytucji mediacyjnej wspierającej rodziców w aktywnym i odpowiedzialnym kształtowaniu ich kontaktów z dzieckiem. Materiał i metody. Analizie poddano publikacje, dane statystyczne oraz akty prawne regulujące problem kontaktów rodziców z dzieckiem dla prawidłowego przebiegu procesu socjalizacji dziecka oraz roli mediacji w regulacji kontaktów rodzicielskich w sytuacji konfliktu między rodzicami dziecka. Wyniki. Dotychczasowe doświadczenia pokazują, że mediacja daje skonfliktowanym stronom (rodzicowi dziecka) wpływ na kształtowanie ich sytuacji, ponieważ ułatwia osiągnięcie wzajemnie satysfakcjonującego porozumienia w zakresie opieki i kontaktu z dzieckiem, stając się alternatywą dla sformalizowanych postępowań sądowych. Postępowanie mediacyjne zawiera elementy edukacyjne - uczy rodziców aktywnego uczestnictwa w podejmowaniu decyzji dotyczących ich dziecka i brania za nie odpowiedzialności. Pozwala na wspólne, oparte na konsensusie, poszukiwanie najlepszych dla niego rozwiązań.
